But what about for them? With what I seen last night and the halflingfamily headed from the same direction they came from. Maybe we should hurry along the pace to make sure they don’t travel into trouble between us and them. We are more Suited for trouble then they are
Well, what trouble could they run into? They are headed towards Neverwinter and if I remembre correctly you said you saw 3 guards heading towards Neverwinter too the worst that could happen is we run into trouble not them. Plus the road is clear between us and the family of halflings.
I am sure we will be fine for now.
Soron takes his spellbook out and stares into it aimlessly until the carts of the halflings comes into sight
Hmm I wonder what would cause a family to move, I know the hamlets we passed were abandoned but there’s nothing obvious in the area to cause this exodus.
Steinarr starts paying more attention to the surroundings to see if there are any obvious tracks for animals or other creatures that may be the cause.
Ooc: perception or survival check to look for tracks?
Steinarr, you see what you would expect to see in countryside like this; lots of tracks of humanoids, horses and carts moving up and down the High Road; small creatures like mice and rabbits in the fields nearby. From time to time you see the hoofprint of a deer. Nothing untoward.
Soron looks towards Kylara and says : Hey, Kylara do you want to sit in the cart? I feep like walking for a while.
Put away his spellbook.
Kylara smiles at Soron and says I will continue to walk to remain strong as nature demands, I rested for 3 hours last night followed by a meditation. She then tells the rest of the party I think I should scout ahead to circle around and follow up behind the family to see if I can listen to their conversation. Does anyone object?
Ok then ... Soron gets back up in the cart... i can send Odinn back and listen to them if you are all fine with that.
Odinn flies back and lands on the cart with furniture, Soron loses his sight and hearing for a while and starts saying what Odinn hears . (DM what does he hear?)
There are no signs of anything to be concerned about nearby, a forward scout is a good idea. If you come across anything unusual you should head back to the caravan though. There is strength in numbers.
Soron, Odinn flies back to the halfling group and lands on the cart. One of the halfling children giggles and tries to feed Odinn some bread. Odinn's not able to relay what he hears, but you can listen through his senses, of course. The children are chatting about Neverwinter and how big their house is going to be and who's going to get which bedroom. The adults are quieter and seem tired, but you do still hear snatches of conversation. They appear to be a family of brewers from Daggerford who have accepted a job in Neverwinter.
(like i mentioned before) Soron says what he hears from the halflings and tells Odinn to fly in circles around the cart (our cart)100 ft in the air for a while and Soron regains his sight and hearing.
(OOC : because ravens are quite intelligent creatures and because i can communicate telepathically with Odinn, can we say that if he sees anything like other carts , people or threats he would signal Soron who will start looking through his eyes and tell everyone what he is seeing ? like a measure of precaution)
After about an hour, you pass by the halfling family; they wave, and some of the children look impressed and excited to see a goliath, apparently having only rarely seen them before. They are friendly, but don't wish to stop. Unless you wish to talk to them, you continue on your way south as they head north.
As we pass the family of halflings and our party is mostly distracted by Them atm I would like to privately whisper to Kylara
(the other characters don’t hear this so you can read but in character your characters won’t know of this)
you said if I had any questions about elf heritage I could ask you. Maybe tonight when the others are resting I could ask you some questions. I need to know more of these “Eladrins”. I’ll explain more later in private but they are of interest to me.
You continue journeying through the day, and shortly before sunset you reach the place where the Triboar Trail meets the High Road. Neither is a paved road, of course, but the High Road running south from Neverwinter is a well-used route and shows signs of regular use. The Triboar Trail heads east, and at times is little more than two lines cutting through the grass to indicate where carts have been. It's usable, and the cart follows the trail easily, but you wonder how many folk travel this way.
After only an hour headed east, the sun begins to set; you set up camp, as you did the previous night. As with the previous night, Soron takes first watch, Kylara second, Demetrio third and Steinarr fourth (please give me Perception checks). X tends to the campfire as you watch.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Perception : 17
(Soron ask the group) So, we reached the Triboar Trail , i'd say we have around one or two more days before we get to Phandalin, what are you guys planing to do afterwards ?
Demetrio looks at Soron

Steinarr prays to Kelemvor briefly for guidance ( casts guidance on him self) before checking the area.

I’m not sure we should split up until this delivery is finished, but If you must go then be careful

I say all this before Kylara leaves.

Focus on the mission at hand, fool. Plans are irrelevant if you do not live to see them. We still have a long way to go.
