There are two salamanders in sight, each on an opposite side of the settlement. The lizardfolk are more numerous; most moving about the settlement are alone or in pairs, while a half dozen watch over the prisoners at work. Only the salamanders seem to have a pattern, each one keeping an eye on half of the area.
In total, the distance across the settlement is likely somewhere between 2500-3000 feet. The area is circular beneath the cliff you stand upon, and narrower at the further end. There look to be only two entrances/exits: One at the far end, and one just below you, likely the path you did not take from the bridge. Neither seem to be currently under watch or guard.
The dam, at the midway point of the plateau, does appear to be preventing the flow of water into the valley. You can't see the blocked water source from here, but if it matches your visions and dreams, the sudden disappearance of the dam would spell a messy end for the settlement.
For Abraxas:
From what you know of lizardfolk on Toril, they vary widely in their demeanor. Some are nearly civilized, tending to live in marshes and swamps, while others can be downright feral in their actions. Salamanders are beings of fire, likely denizens of the elemental plane of fire. You know less about them, but know they have an intelligence and based on their element, likely a chaotic demeanor.
You have heard the name Zuzeca very recently, in your shared dream after the events of the Ice Basilisk.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Aisha echoes harmony's comments saying Yes... this one wishes to now.. do you all recall whether or not the place seemed better or worse with the water.... As if the apolalyspe... Alpacalypse ..ugh you know what Aisha is saying... Do you all remember.. is the world better with, or without the water. Aisha agree's with harmony that we need to get as many prisoners out as possible .. if onyl Aisha knew this she would have asked her catlord for one single.. different.. spell... But Aisha also has the best silence.... which means Aisha may need to do a hidden mission.... Aisha is also the fastest atleast in bursts.
And we need to decide how we're going to do this... Obviously first thign is the prisoners but... after that? do we bring them here and break the dam? Do we not break the dam at all? Do we do anything else? We need to consider this. The city is too far for me to provide safe support from here.. so no matter what Aisha will have to be there.. but the more of us there are there... the more likely we are to be seen... part of why Aisha likes to work alone the most. Though she likes most of you... she says with a wink, that, while still cute, seems a bit more frazzled and paranoid than when she first arrived.
If Aisha IS goign in alone... what will everyone else do? wait near an escape in case we are followed? sabatoge or distract el.... thats actually nyot a bad idea... if you can create a distraction.... Aisha might be able to get them out.. but that also puts you at risk... and will put the place on alert from there on on out. Aisha may not be smart... but she is used to sneaking into places she shouldn't be... and she is wise.. to make up for her dumness... But providing no distraction, while making the activity harder.. doesn't alert them - unless she is caught... so let us figure out.. based on your visions... destroy the dam, or nyot.... then... what is being done, and who is doing it?
Aisha will listen to everyone discuss on that/those questions, while mentally praying to the catlord to grant her a one time boon.... grant her the power.. at the cost of another.... to be more stealthy... She had been considering asking for the boon of shadow but had not expected this turn of events... (((religion to pray to ask the catlord to take one of her boons away and grant her another: 6 Wanting to replace one of my spells with 'pass without a trace')
"So we know those lizards and snakes are bad. We just need to figure out what we are going to do about it.
I always prefer an illusion or misdirection, but if those fail, we are all lizard food. I can distract, but I don't think I can take them out easily. And Caiphon's a lover, not a fighter.
"Was Zuzeca one of the beings that brought us here? Does anyone else remember our dream after the the Ice Basiliks?" Abraxas says. "Jove? Do you?" Abraxas puts his hand to his chin. "We need to rescue as many as possible without drowning them. The question is how to distract their guards and move the prisoners. We might be able to attack one Salamander at a time. They might understand Primordial, and if so, I could speak to them." He rubs his forehead, puts one hand in his book bag, but knows there is nothing helpful there. "I guess that is my suggestion. Attack the Salamanders one at a time if we can."
Abraxas raises a finger. "Ah!" he says. "Jove or was it Harmony? You can put your thoughts in others heads? Right? We can warn the prisoners that way. Or at least establish communication with them? Can they tell us if the lizards are happy under the control of the Salamanders? How will the lizards react if the Salamanders die?"
"I don't think talking to them would work too well. Zuzeca was an evil god if I remember things correctly...
I work best in the darkness and can strike at weak points, so if someone could create some darkness, that could help us out. Or Caiphon and I could warn the slaves.
Caiphon could go up and touch one of the lizards to see if they are under mind control or some other kind of spell, but that is risky.
Maybe we could wait until night time to strike? Aisha and Olive could rain down arrows at the same time without them knowing. Perhaps killing them before they get the chance to scream."
OOC: Jove has been front-lining for a bit. I would love it if someone else comes into the spotlight for this battle :).
Harmony was listening to everyone, thinking long and hard with all these options and suggestions. "According to the vision, by diverting the water to this valley, it would prevent the world from being taken over by those folk with cities and towns being on fire." she had said back to Aisha's question, then smiling at hearing that she likes them. She shook her head when Abraxas asked if Zuzeca was one of the ones that brought them here. "He definitely did not bring us here. Gabrielle, Yuloss, and Ginan were the ones that brought us here to stop these portals." she had said back to him. "I can use a spell to disguise myself into one of them, a potential slave or ally, or maybe even pretend to be Zuzeca to gather them all up together before using spells to surround them in darkness or incapacitating them. I can cast a spell so that I would be able to speak with them for a short time no matter what language they speak which would be useful for fooling and distracting or even charming them, even if it's just the strongest-looking one or whoever looks to be the leader that we use as part of a distraction. I'm the best one for this kind of thing and while I'm doing that, you all can sneak the prisoners out, especially if we did do this at night too." Harmony was telling the group her ideas, contributing and knowing that her skills and spells are perfect for causing a distraction after all. She's not as sneaky as Aisha or as smart as Jove and she certainly isn't that good in combat like Abraxas and Olive, so this is what she can do best to help out the group.
Aisha would look at Jove and Abraxus and say Aisha can see your intentions but you must remember.... once we roll the yarn over the cliff, it will continue to spool... If we create the wrong kind of distraction, it makes things much more difficult... yes? A sudden blob of darkness will attract attention and put people on alert... We need to bee cautious about how we do this.. even if our intent is to storm the gate.. And Neither myself nor Olive can hit them from here.... atleast not very far... Even with my bow, i would barely hit a quarter of the way from one wall to the other even if this one was standing on the wall itself... Which means we will still need to be near.
And harmonies plan is both the best sort of distraction, and yet the riskiest... for if her strategy fails.. or falters... she will be hopelessly surrounded and overpowered.
If Aisha may make a suggested strategy.... she would say, thinking as hard as she could. While she wasn't quite smart enough to come up with everyone's specific role... her wisdom should atleast allow her to consider the best course to take, even if it was vague. As she continued waitign to hear from her races patrons response to her plaintive prayer.
Aisha is sure we all agree that she is the quietest and the fastest.... And this one can climb things without need for rope and other such trinkets.. she says, allowing her claws to extend and retract. And thanks to Harmonies clear picture.. we do, ultimately wish to destroy the dam... which means we would do best to draw as little attention to ourselves as possible, if possible. Else breaking it would effect us as much as them. While if we can pull this off without being seen...
Two groups? Maybe?
One group with an arrowhead for each while the others remain in shadow?
Aisha can make her way to the prisoners... and do her best to free as many as possible.... while Tsavi and purrrhaps Abraxus wait in case of emergency?
While Harmony attempts her ploy elsewhere to distract them, with Jove quietly 'assisting' her deception from an unseen location.... with Olive keep an eye on things....
And should nothing go wrrong... This one, and Abraxus can make their way to the dam once all prisoners are safely heading towards the plateau... and after you all are safely out of harrrms way.... destroy it and kill everyone else in the village... and if you are truly worried about the lizardfolk, Aisha believes they can swim.. maybe...
And if everything doesn't go according to plan, we adapt... Aisha can still attempt to get out as many captives as possible before retreating and proceeding to the dam itself.... What do you all think of this?
"While I am wary of dividing our group, given the number of people we are trying to save and all the land involved," Abraxas says, "it may be our only option." He reviews the plan in his head. "I've reached a new understanding bringing forth acid from the Weave. It may help destroy the dam. How do we plan to warn everyone? Harmony and Aisha, one sneaking and the other in disguise?"
Aisha would nod Essentially... Aisha will do her best to be quiet should we all agree on this. Also... Did it appear that ALl the prisoners were in a single location? And how many did you see?
Jove frowns, not sadly, just like he is concentrating hard. "Okay. We can work with this. What does that spell of yours do, Harmony? Do we have to cast it on them to understand them? Or do you cast it on one of us, and that lets us understand their language? If it is the latter, Caiphon could do some invisible recon to listen to their plans. That should give us a bit of insight on what their routine is, hopefully.
As for destroying the dam and Aisha's proposal, I think it is a fair plan. I am not great at shooting arrows or brandishing battlaxes or the like, but I can certainly lay down covering fire if a distraction goes wrong. I like it. Even though, I too am wary about splitting the party."
Harmony had heard Aisha's plan to split into two groups with Aisha, Tsavi and Abraxas working on freeing the prisoners while her, Jove, and Olive work on the distraction before Aisha and Abraxas go destroy the dam after the prisoners are gone and the rest of them are out of the way. "That sounds like a good plan. I know it's risky but I can't really think of another way to do this and if I can use my talents and what I'm good at to help save the world, then it will be alright." she said back to her, nodding in agreement. She then heard Abraxas and Aisha as she nodded back. "Yes, I would be in disguise. But it only lasts for an hour so we have to be quick." Harmony said back to her before hearing Jove ask about her spell and talk about Caiphon possibly doing some invisible recon to listen in on their plans and figure out their routine. "I touch a creature and they can understand any spoken language that they hear and when they speak, any creatures that know a language and can hear would understand what they're saying. I can cast it a few times but it only lasts for an hour each time though. I'll take the fall if anything goes wrong from being split up, we just really need to free the prisoners and destroy the dam." Harmony would now say back to Jove, sighing.
"If I understand, then," Abraxas says, "I'm to wait for the prisoners to be freed and then summon acid for the base of the dam? I can try to make my way to with in 150 feet of the dam while the rest of you begin warning and distracting. Is that right?" He turns towards it. "I'll be watching and try to be helpful with my longer ranged spells."
If he has understood the plan and once he hears that the others are ready, he will begin creeping stealthy that way: 16.
(OOC - Um, allright i guess i'll get the party started. Will try to post in the next 4-5 hours. Really busy right now running around with birthday prep ~.~)
Seeing that no one had -or at least hadn't voiced any- concerns or objections to the plans, and seeing as Harmony had confirmed that the dam was most lilkely the proper solution. Aisha would nod. Confirming her quiver and everything were in place, though a bit saddened by the fact her patron had not answered her prayer this time, but also knowing felines were capricious. She would check her gear, making sure it was all with her. And once assured, she's pat Tsavi over, petting through her silky, if dusty fur. Taking one last look over the settlement, and mentally noting it's layout as much as possible, as well as where the prisoners were, thanks to someone else's critically keen eyes. Before noting to Abraxus that she was ready.
Yes, that is why this one chose you. While this one could slings arrows at it all day.. you have the right skills for destroying things that Aisha lacks. owever Aisha isn't sure the base is the bets.. try to find a weak point... a joint.. an arrow to the knee per se. As that will have a faster effect. But for the most part you are correct. But whatever you do, do not allow yourself to be discovered. if you have any spells to hide with, Aisha would suggest using them when we near the wall. Aisha can climb over it easily, as can Tsavi. While you will have much more difficulty. So if possible.. stay outside the walls to get to the dam.. if this is nyot possible then be cautious. And whatever you do, do not help me should I be discovered. Even if it means triggering the dam before we are all ready.... Should things go .. very well... Aisha will meet up with the others and have Tsavi come to you, to let you know we are ready. Whatever YOU do though, do not be discovered, and do not help this one if she finds herself in danger. Aisha will get out of it herseelf.
And with that, When Abraxus was ready, Aisha would head down the path, and once at the base, if there was a visibly faster path to her destination, she would take it, based on her scans from above. If not, she would take the most obvious path there, and once she got within 100 yards of the walls themself, making sure to head towards the side where the prisoners were held, she would slow her pace, and begin to stealth (A25 - - T19) slinking as best she could all the way to the wall, making sure to keep her pace slow enough that Abraxus could keep up as well.
Should she make it to the wall undetected, She would quietly climb up the side of whatever wall was present, using her claws to climb with, and just barely peeking her head over, to see what was on the other side, to better gauge her next course of action. And she would keep her eyes out for any small animal that might be in the area, such as a lizard, squirrel, and so on. (Perc: 19)
Jove will proceed with Harmony. Jove comforts her and her fear, not because she is scared, but because he is. More or less projecting onto her. He talks about the best thing to do if things go south. "If you see any sign of danger, throw up some darkness. I can see through it, magical or not, so I can get us out or strike down the danger. And don't worry, because Caiphon has out back. He knows how to throw some punches... Yeah... He can take them..."
If the darkness bubble is cast, Jove will cast shadow blade. (I know technically you can't ready a bonus action, but maybe this is a different circumstance since it is more like a plan? Then he will use his action to see through Caiphon, who in turn uses his action to pull Harmony out of the fray and to safety. Jove will remain in the bubble to attack and move back a safe distance to dance around melee attacks.(They shouldn't get opportunity attacks because they cannot see me)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Abraxas begins creeping stealthy outside the wall toward the dam, using the stealth roll from post 899. (OOC: Happy to role again as you need it.) He will try and stay hidden while review everything he has ever known about dams: 26.
At the same time, he tries to listen for sounds of trouble from his friends and keep the sand out of his book bags.

(Perc: 19)
Occassional Dungeon Master.
