Wallis moves closer to the crack, although this is the first time she has seen one up close in Dzendalin it isn't the first time she has seen the effect. Pleased to be able to relate it to her experience in the wild the ranger realises that the crack is the result of liquefaction in an area where the soil was disturbed during a tremor of some kind and the ground level dropped significantly in a localised area. This one looks as though it moves into a tunnel but very thin cracks in the surface level create a series of very dim light patches moving down the tunnel and out of immediate sight. The tunnel starts at a depth of about 15 feet but doesn't seem to get much lower initially. Wallis also realises the climb down would be easy.
For additional info on the Cracks in general.
What is different here in Dzendalin is that the cracks uncovered a previously unremembered site from an ancient civilisation. The buildings aren't complete in any way but you can see vague street layouts throughout, sometimes they are tunnels, sometimes a small network of tunnels sometimes a brief gouge in the ground where you can se down into the past ;)
By the way I'm fine with Brock getting Inked but nobody "owns" the cracks and people come and go around them constantly, they are just part of the area to many, who wouldn't go down into them but have no problem with them either.
(OOC: Is there another kind of crack? Lol... I'm thirteen again.)
Being the first time to visit such location, Valen is a bit on edge. "I've heard, mostly stories it seemed, of nasty things coming out of the cracks,"he whispers to the others. "So we are looking for 'where the starlight lights the way', I believe." The man begins to dig in his pack and retrieves a torch. He draws his longsword from his back and edges forward with his shield and torch ahead of him.
(DM: I imagine this is a dark area we're entering?"
Brock would look to Wallis and grin. "I thought some day I might get yer name tattoo'd on my arm" The man would say with a wink as he followed her into the tattoo parlor.
(Dim light as far as you can see but every reason to assume it will be dark very quickly if you proceed.).
"I'm closing for the night, you'll have to come back tomorrow if you want inking, not too early mind I don't do early." The woman who speaks to you is more tattooed than anyone most people would ever see, although she has very pale skin it is hard to see more than a few patches of it anywhere. The woman is tall and well muscled, moving from the back to the front of the shop, she looks over Brock's arms before commenting "Plenty of canvas on this one, should I clear my schedule for the rest of the week?" to Wallis with a smile on her face. "I did mean it about closing, I'm meeting friends later, or I'd stay."

"No problem, We dont want to mean to keep you. A strong woman like yourself could probably put a good beating on us if we tried" Brock would say with a wink and a grin.. "Real quick before ya leave... you didnt happen to see anyone jumping down into the crack over there recently did ya? we are looking for a friend of ours and we think he may have bee. meeting someone either here at yer shop out in that hole over there" He would say with a smile as he points his large battered hand towards the crack.
"I didnt, it's hard to see from inside and I'd usually be concentrating on the people in front of me and not the view, I'm sorry I can't be more help. Say would you like to join me and some friends, you look like you might enjoy a night out."

"Well... I cannot speak for my friends here but I might be interested" Brock would say giving her a quick glance up and down before looking to Wallis and Valen. "What do you say? I think we earned a bit of fun.. I think we made some good progress for the night" He would say with a smile.
"Uh ok," Wallis says nervously to Brock's joke. Looking to the woman. "We're looking for a friend <insert Glandon's description>. Seen him," she asks. "I'm sure we could discuss it over a drink," she adds.

Valen backs away from the entrance to the tunnel, carrying his torch, and joins the others. "A night to relaxation does sound nice, but unfortunately I'm more broke than things are down here."He looks to his companions then back to the woman.
"Maybe another time then, take care you guys. I do know Glandon, I did the inking on his back actually but I don't know where he is, Kyve was here earlier checking for him." She starts to move towards the Burned Castle "Do take care, especially playing by the Cracks." With that she walks off her shop shut up and dark and the hole leading underground invitingly close by.

"Damn... I could have used a drink... Oh well" Brock will say with a grin. The man would then make his way towards the crack and look down into the hole from the edge. "Well... if we aren't getting drinks.. I guess we might as well check out this hole" He would say as he turns to look towards his companions before dropping down into the hole. He would turn around to face the wall of the hole as he drops down so that his hands can catch the lip of the hole before dropping the rest of the way. He would keep his hands and feel against the wall and attempt to slide down if possible.
(OOC- 15' drop in total, lots of easy footholds to step down on but as you jumped you've incurred 15hp damage and a broken leg, oh well... ;)
Reaching the bottom Brock realises that the light from the street doesn't extend very far down below. The area he is in is dimly lit, and he can tell that the ground is uneven and seems to descend slightly as it fades out of sight into darkness. He does notice something unusual - as he looks north tiny cracks from up above running in the same direction create a faint trail off into the distance, from where he is his human eyes cannot make out much detail but the trail extends out of his sight seemingly due to a natural obstacle of some sort. The area is still, silent except for a regular but slow sound of a drop of water hitting rock.

(OOC: well he droped and hung from the ledge and then dropped / slid the rest of the way lol. He is 6 ft tall so it would only be like.. 9 feet from his feet to the floor at that point ;) )
"Come on down guys!" Brock would shout as he squints hard... trying to spot anything of importance "It is really dark.. down here and it looks like there might be a bit of a trail..." he will shout as he waits for his eyes to adjust to the dim light in hopes of seeing better.
(OOC: So since we are pretty broke, would brock have the 10 torches he is supposed to start with.?)
(OOC - yes you have torches, you get all the starter gear - I did ask if you were bringing things, we'll assume you brought your torches - and don't worry Brock is fine, his acrobatic descent would have impressed the tattooist but she was already off down the street though...)

"Good evening, then." Valen give her a 'tip of the cap' and proceeds to follow Brock down below. "It's nice to be away from the din of the city," he says trying to convince himself as he swings his shield around and draws his blade. "So, Kyve was down here looking for him. I was half joking about him being 'K'."
