(I believe it is Tait's turn now. If the critter that Hoyle shot the bow at is still alive, Tait will attack it. If it is dead he will move toward the shed instead to investigate. Writing both alternatives.)
(Alternate 1) Seeing the creature that Hoyle hit with an arrow still alive, Tait pulls out a carved ash wand from his belt, points it at the creature and mutters, "Pohzar". (Casting Fire Bolt)
Attack: 18 Damage: 5
(Alternate 2) Seeing the creature no longer alive, Tait slowly moves toward the shed to see what is going on, and if someone has barricaded themselves inside.
Joshua will run in next to Talon and seeing he is not injured, look at the dog. Aww bless, it's a cute puppy. DC13 wis save or take 4 psychic damage and disadvantage on the next attack.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Klaus receives the heavy blow from the dog like creature knocking him to one knee, shield placed in front of him his battleaxe is ready in his other hand. Klaus moves the shield aside after taking a deep breath and does a heaving upward slash attempting to hit this creature under its chin.
"Nice job Klaus, that was a heck of a move!", Hoyle says as he moves to the shed. "Whoever is hiding in the shed, you can come out, we killed the beast."
Arric will go over to the body and say a prayer to Ilmater. “May you give relief to this soul’s suffering in the afterlife my Lord.” He’ll close the man’s eyes and make a check of the cabin to see what happened.
Hoyle will say, "My name is Hoyle, I am from Red Larch and here with some of my friends to look in on the Norgor family. Please come out so we can talk to you and find out what is going on here.", in his friendliest voice possible. Then he looks at Klaus and says, "Klaus, there are people hiding in the shed. I think it is safe out here, if you want to check on the house?"
Does Hoyle have any reason to believe there is any other danger out here?
After the beast fell into death Klaus returned to one knee to take a second to gather himself after the brutal strike. "Thank you Hoyle, wasn't sure I was gonna be able to pull it off but the heat of the moment demanded it."he says with labored breathing.
After a couple seconds pass Klaus returns to his feet. "Yeah okay, I'll head for the house. Make sure to holler if anything comes up and I'll come rushing." and he heads for the house to make sure everything and everyone is okay on that end.
Talon would scramble across the floor to Arric and cling to his leg before pulling himself to he feet, using his friend as a crutch until the kenku was standing next to him. "Thanks" he would chirp to arric... the voice happy and chipper but his eyes would be wide and terrified. Talon would slowly move towards the dead beast on the ground and examine it.. .his head tilting in twitching in a bird-like fashion as he tries to determine what type of creature would do this.
In the house the group finds the bodies of both parents and the three hands that worked with them.
Their seems to have been more than two creatures and a least one large enough to unhinge the back door. Somme of the wooden frame as even been shattered at waist level.
(you ll have to roll for perception or investigation)
In the shed the group finds both children clutching each other and tears streaming down their faces.
(survival check or tracking if possible please for those outside.)
(new perception/investigation rolls or our bad preemptive ones?)
Joshua will leave the bodies for someone who knows what to do with the dead however if either of the parents is wearing a necklace or rings he will take them to give to the children for memories
(new rolls for searching the house and gathering info on what has happened)
It is almost 4 in the morning. It takes a long time to calm the kids and when you finally do they fall into a deep sleep.
To make them talk you ll have to make persuasion rolls or use other means. They close up as soon as you talk about monsters and tears come to their eyes.

Inside the house,
The dog inside the house starts to burn with a hiss and whines in pain. It reels back then starts moving toward Talon.
Near the shed,
The dog jerks once as the arrow slams into it. It turns its head in surprise and you can see glowing eyes and lava running down its mouth.
Up
Tait's bolt spalshes on the creatures head.
It whines and rushes the group, Klaus is in the forefront and takes the full brunt.

Seeing this dog moving towards Talon, Arric steps onto the house while pulling out his morningstar. He’ll go up to the dog creature and swing at it.
Attack: 19 Damage: 9
Almost simultaneously Klauss and Arric, though not near each other, kill the monsters.
They slump on the floor and ground. and white mist comes from their bodies.
For now the area is silent.
"Nice job Klaus, that was a heck of a move!", Hoyle says as he moves to the shed. "Whoever is hiding in the shed, you can come out, we killed the beast."
A small voice calls from inside. Hoyle also hears someone crying.
Arric will go over to the body and say a prayer to Ilmater. “May you give relief to this soul’s suffering in the afterlife my Lord.” He’ll close the man’s eyes and make a check of the cabin to see what happened.
Joshua will look around the house for any other people (alive or dead) and anything to indicate why this happened as this did not seem natural.
