If were going for stealth i wouldn't necessarily light the light stick ungrim has, but i can light it thru him as i can cast spells thru him at any time so when you 2 want the light just call it out and i can make it happen.
Stealth: 15
Grom will take up his spot at the rear. DM note: can grom make a check to try and see are these natural torches? or magically lit?

They're naturally lit -- which is why the smoke is "greasy". Animal fat and oil (tallow) produces unclean smoke and generally smells bad. Candles and oils made from tallow often went rancid.
The torches are giving off enough light for those of you without darkvision to see without the aid of the light spell at the moment, but the smoke coming from the torches is causing the area to be lightly obscured which means you have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
As Talien steps forward to exit the storeroom through the doorway he bumps into a crate and a jar falls from the top of it. Rees who is right behind Talien reaches out and catches the jar midair before it has the chance to shatter on the stone ground underfoot. The pair continue through the doorway into the next room unhindered. Alten follows behind them careful not to let his armor clink, or clatter. No one hears Arxius soundlessly cross the threshold and make her way into the room with Meepo, Grom, and Corkie in tow. Trick exits the pantry last and attempts to shut the door, but the rusty hinges "creeek" a little too loudly. Everyone pauses for a moment to listen for any movement up ahead. 1..2...3.. seconds pass by. But, nothing happens; You appear to be have been quite enough for now.
Once you all file into the haze filled room you make your way to the first set of marble columns. To your left (north) you can see a wooden door set into the rough stone wall. The door has an iron handled ring much like the other doors you have encountered throughout the Citadel.
DM Note: I used the rules for a group check on this one.
Rees is going to motion to the group to be quiet and resist the urge to roll her eyes because we all have bad stealth days even rogues. Then she'll move forward and check the door to see if it's locked or trapped.

There doesn't appear to be any traps. You try turning the handle, but find it is locked.
The door can be opened with a DC 15 Dexterity check using thieves’ tools.
Talien will start to 'hum' an odd tune from battle he has heard before that was made with odd harps found in other warforged's arms while he waits. (Not trying to preform, he is just strolling down memory lane).
(Also packing a lot this weekend, will check in when available)
Rees nods, moving to the door and pulling out her tools.
Dice don't fail me now Dexterity: 14
EDIT: so close! And yet....
No cigar.
You nearly have it when you get a cramp in your wrist. You try to fight it for a moment, but can’t seem to resist the ache and you hear the lock click back into place as you move your hands away to rub your wrist.
Back through the pantry to try the north door then is it?
"Sorry, guys... these tools are pretty old, I should maybe get better ones when we get back to town. You'd think old tools and old locks would get along, but it's not working for me today."
"It is fine, we'll go back the other way and see if we cannot find another way in," Arxius says, patting Rees on the shoulder. "Or perhaps more tools."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
??? Trapped Corridor
You backtrack through the Goblin Pantry and back out into the Practice Range to try the door to the north of the crenelated wall. Trying the iron ringed handle reveals that the door is unlocked and stepping through brings you out into an unlit corridor that is 10’ wide and 35’ long.
(Assuming Rees asks Grom to cast light you see a door set in the northern wall about ten feet from the door you enter the hall by. There is another door set in the western wall at the far end of the the hall.
As you approach the first door I need everyone to please make another stealth check.

If you can get it open, then we might as well move forward. If not, we'll go back and try the northernmost door.
