Well, I'll go back and start unbarring the other door, unless someone has a better idea.
Absent another idea, Alten will go back to the circular tower room and remove all the stuff Talien used to block it off. But I'm not opening it until everyone is there and ready to proceed.
Chatra joins you. In a barbing tone he asks, “So what’s going on between you and Arx, got the hots for her eh?”
Nothing is going on, other than we are all working on this job. I've just met the woman two days ago. She seems nice enough, at least when she's not woken by a nightmare.
I suppose she is pleasing enough to the eye. Both the ladies strike me as pleasant looking. But that does not correlate to one having "the hots", as you so eloquently put it.
Snorting and in a mocking return. The hots - is that the best your bardic prowess can deliver?
Chatra sneers and replies, "Ha! What would you know of bardic prowess? I have already garnered much renown in my trade.. what have you accomplished thus far? Has Torm granted you a boon yet? Or are you just a squire playing dress up?"
A might prickly today, are we? Did you not get enough sleep after our mid-watch interruption? Or do you simply not imbibe jests as effortlessly as you try to dispense them?

Talien will snuff his torch out on the debris in the dragon door room, and then move into the next room and collect all of the bells and string prior to us departing to the next area.
With one final glare at the lock that bested her, Rees will follow everyone out of the room and toward the other door. "Hopefully this way will not prove as complicated."

Chatra opens his mouth to respond, but thinks better of it when the others enter the room. He crosses his arms and just stands there with a brooding look.
You cast the spell and sweep the broken tower room, but nothing in here catches your attention, so you move on. As you walk by the dead giant rat in the next room you see another of its kind devouring its corpse greedily. The rodent doesn't even look up at you as satisfying its hunger is its singular focus. You make a clean sweep of the room including the walls and corners, but the only thing that lights up is the lock on the dragon door.

Grom will draw his axe off his back and walk up to the Rat Attack: 9 Damage: 5
You cut the giant rat rats tail clean off. It shrieks in pain and attempts to bite you in retaliation.
As you wind up to swing your axe (just like in your gif) the rodent skitters to the side and barrel rolls out of the way. Instead of cleaving the rat in two as you would expect you strike thin air. The momentum and weight of the axe striking nothing causes you to lose your balance and topple to the ground. You land on your butt with a loud "thud" and the rodent stops, looks back at you with its beady little eyes, and seems to snicker, before escaping into the debris pile near the south wall.

My boon is my life. I still have it. Shrugging

The broken tower room is circular, the diameter is 40ft. The dragon door room is rectangular and is 20ft (w) x 40ft (L).
Assuming Arxius joins the rest of the party.. do you guys try the other door?
{That is Alten's plan unless someone comes up with something different}

The rat seems drunk without its tail and lunges at you haphazardly. Having missed you the rodent uses its movement to try and escape your baleful axe.
DM Note: You get an attack of opportunity.
