A male voice calls back to Ander, "Um, I don't know who you are, but I wouldn't go around advertising that." A female voice calls down as well, "Yeah, um, those thoughts are best kept to yourself..." The shadowy figure with the male voice calls down, "Come in. Step inside the gate but go no further, we will give you the orientation."
The two figures climb down the towers and approach you. The female begins speaking before you can see the details of her face, "I'm Svarn and that's my brother Varns." As she gets closer you can see a very beautiful young woman with an oddly disturbing smile. The male approaches now too, they look identical. "You cause trouble, you're dead. You refuse to take part in city festivities, you're dead. You come from the unspoken one, you're dead. If you forget to smile, you're dead." He inspects you closely with that same disturbing smile. "It's nothing personal, its the decree of the burgomaster. He thinks it's the only way to keep the unspoken one out."
Uanstaer's face lights up at the mention of festivities. "Ah, festivities! Are you hosting a feast full if music and dancing, or a contest of physical strength and death defying feats? I can help you plan which ever, since I've been in all kinds of parties and shindigs. Oh please, I must know!"
He says this all with the the biggest, fakest smile he can possibly muster.
The male looks at you with his weird, forced smile and continues, "The Festival of the Blazing Sun is tonight. You had better introduce yourself to the Burgomaster, he likes to give newcomers a special gift during the festivities." He laughs glibly, "I think there's to be a parade!" He pats you on the shoulder and points toward a beat up mansion. "That's the Burgomasters mansion, I'm sure he's home"
" Festival of the Blazing Sun...I bet He Who Must Not Be Named loves that one. So is this a Festival where visitors get a free drink and a candied apple or where we get a free drink, find out it was spiked and wake up in a giant wicker manikin? Cos I'm not so much a fan of the latter."
" To the Mansion!", she sounded dramatically as she fixed her rictus grin and marched torwards the mouldering pile.
Joetaro shrugs as he begins to walk toward the mansion. "Festivals can be fun and I enjoy a good candied apple though I don't trust anything to come out of this place. This could be a parade of zombies or corpses of past adventurers who have fallen to the Devil."

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
You walk through the streets, they're mostly cobblestone but fade to dirt and patchy grass in some areas. You see a tall church, an inn, an assortment of houses. Nothing unusual, except for the almost painful looking grins across everyone's face. Everyone turns to look at you as you walk by, but nobody really makes an effort to communicate to you. You eventually make it to the Burgomaster's mansion. This mansion has walls of plastered stone that display many scars where the plaster has fallen away from age and neglect. Drapes cover every window, including a large, arched opening above the mansion’s double entrance doors.
Joetaro shrugs and shakes his head and smiles back. "Wine might have been good, though I'm sure the Burgomeister has plenty of it. I don't think I would work as a sacrificial virgin. It has been a few years since my former wife and I split though. Maybe the Burgomeister might buy it. I suppose I could deceive him but -" he stops and makes sure no villagers are paying attention to them "something tells meStrahd would know my deception."

Ander looks puzzled. "The amount of effort this guy goes through to make sure that no one even says St... the guys name and the amount of festivals you would think he would be both not fanged and have money. I guess we will find out"

" Whatever..."
Glimra strode through the gate and waited impatiently for 'orientation.'
Ander will walk forward making a mental note to not say Vistani or Strahd to random strangers
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
Joetaro walks next to Ander and leans close. "Orientation? I"m sure this is the 'Help the Vistani Kill Strahd' orientation.'"

Glimras mouth curled into a disturbing rictus grin, " Festivities?"
Ander starts smiling semi realisticly. "Any upcoming festivities we need to know about?"

Joetaro shakes his head at Varns. "You can tell this burgomaster that it's not nice to threaten your guests, but we'll play along."

Ander will follow, while looking out for both anything that shows what the festival might be about, and also just generally looking at people.

Joetaro whispers a prayer to Selune as he admires the mansion. He walks up to the doors and knocks politely.

" Well....whatever things this Burgomeister is....houseproud is not one of them..."
" Note the covered windows, Boys and Girls.", she puts her fingers next to her mouth to form faux fangs then shrugs.
" Should we have brought something? Wine, flowers.....sacrificial virgin?", she looked sideways at Joetaro on the last statement with a crooked smile.
Joetaro shrugs and shakes his head and smiles back. "Wine might have been good, though I'm sure the Burgomeister has plenty of it. I don't think I would work as a sacrificial virgin. " We could make sure...", Glimra said with a wicked grin as she turned away to look at the manor again.

"Eh, you would think that someone would take care of this mansion a bit more. Well, everyone in this place does seem a bit ... preoccupied."
