“Sorry about this. I’d rather not be captured and tortured while you choose to ignore it.” Vishal replies quickly flicking out his chakram and attempting to knock out Riikana before cha-chaing away towards the door. 

Attack (if it hits will use BI for Defensive Flourish as Vishal Cha-Cha’s away): Attack: 11 Damage: 7

BI Die: 5

As he does he sends a telepathic message to the young man. “You believe me. You know something is up don’t you.” 

Vishal connects with his chakram. Riikana's eyes flare with real anger as she sees Vishal's eyes glow. "What Lord Sulatesh does, he does at the orders of the il-altas, and is not for us to question, altavar," she growls.

The young man stares at Vishal's glowing eyes as the voice sounds in his head, eyes widening with shock. You...you're a kalashtar!

The two soldiers delegated to go after River run out to chase her.

Mechanics: Right now, River has a 60 ft lead on the soldiers. The chase will progress on her turn depending on what actions she has taken and what the soldiers do. The soldiers will spend their action to Dash until they catch up. I'll keep track of her lead here. For example, if both River and the soldiers Dash on their turn, the notation will be River Lead: 60 ft. LMK in Discord if you're confused by this.

The other soldiers attack, three going for bull-Druhdaar and two going for Vishal.

River is up

River closes her eyes in a momentary prayer as she runs, breathing a sigh of relief as dark energy forms around her body. Using this dark energy to cloak her movements the small bird girl ducks into an alley and darts between houses and roads, looping back while remaining hidden from the soldiers chasing her.

(Cast Guidance, then Stealth 24 to hide)

Neither soldier sees River, and they start to turn back towards the hall.

Riikana lifts her longsword and attacks No Longer a Bulldaar (20 damage earlier overwhelmed the form, sorry).

She lands a glancing blow.

The young man hesitates again, then grits his teeth. "Dark spirits. Riikana, just wait a second!"

Riikana glares at him. "Ryder, they're probably here to break into the fortress and liberate their fellows. Pick a side!"

Ryder's eyes widen. "Yes ma'am," he says quietly, clapping his fist to his chest for a moment in a salute.

Tiem steps out of the wall on the other side of the tavern and casts shillelagh on his quarterstaff and then flings an ice knife at the soldiers no longer chasing River.

Druhdaar and Vishal are up.

Vishal sends another message to Ryder. 

““Ryder. We mean you no harm. We just want to get our friends and go. We don’t want to hurt you, your Lord, your people, or take you away from your Path. You hear the scream, you know what he is doing is wrong, help us Ryder. Please.”

He then takes out a candle and says, “Two against one isn’t fun now is it.” Before he quickly lights it with Prestidigitation.

Ryder narrows his eyes as Vishal's words enter his mind again. Shut up. Just...shut up. His mental voice is upset and angry.

The soldiers seem...unimpressed by Vishal's candle.

Druhdaar is up.

Roaring in pain and anger under the assault of the soldiers, the druid's form shifts again as he turns into a huge brown bear. Raised on its hind legs, it swings its paws and maw at the nearest opponent.

The soldiers inside each attack their targets, while the one outside runs towards Tiem

The soldiers run away, allowing River to duck out from cover and fire an Eldritch Blast into the back of the remaining one. (13th 5dmg) before running back towards the building.

Riikana narrows her eyes as one of her soldiers goes down and pulls out a dagger, making another set of attacks on Beardaar.

Beardaar has 1 hp left in bear form.

Ryder lets out one last "Dark spirits!", then unsheathes his sword fully, swinging the flat into one of the soldiers on Vishal.

Tiem tosses a healing word to Vishal, then attacks the remaining soldier with his magic quarterstaff.

 The soldier doesn't quite go down.

Druhdaar and Vishal are up.

 The huge bear, bleeding profusely from the multitude of deep gashes inflicted by Riikana, falls upon her with redoubled energy, his great maw frothing with rage.

Riikana grunts as he slashes again, but stays up, eyes steely with resolve.

Vishal is up.

Vishal shares another back and forth with the young man before saying aloud, “You know what he is doing is wrong and against the Path. Bear get out.” 

Vishal then weaves his hands over the candle and with the glow in his eyes extinguishes the flame but the smoke doesn’t stop, instead it gets thicker and thicker as it covers the whole area and Vishal books it towards where the door is. 

An AOO occurs from the soldier Ryder and Vishal are engaged with.

Attack: 17 Damage: 5

It lands on the kalashtar.

The soldiers continue their attacks.

Beardaar:

Beardaar drops and is now in human form again. Tiem takes a hit but stays up, and Ryder easily dodges the swing aimed at him.

River sees Vishal come running out and panics slightly at the beaten Kalashtar. Familiar dark energy emanates from her shield and floats to Vishal, poorly fixing his wounds (3 Healing). Then, she points a taloned finger at the remaining soldier outside and fills his head with loud, piercing bells that cause him to fall lifelessly to the ground. (12 Damage). She continues running towards Vishal's side.

The soldier goes down.

Ryder attacks the soldier he's engaged with.

He goes down and Ryder books it for the door.

Tiem casts pass without trace to aid in the escape.

Druhdaar and Vishal are up.

Stumbling with pain and blinded by the cloud of smoke, Druhdaar suddenly drops to the ground and rolls away from his opponents' reach, before sprinting towards the exit, following the voices of his comrades.

** Dash Action 60' towards and past the exit. **

“You heard my piece Ryder. And you know you’re going to be in trouble for attacking your own men. You don’t have to abandon the Path. And we can help you if you help us save our friends. Just tell me yes so we don’t have to fight you.” Vishal says quietly knowing he’s just on the other side in the smoke before he farts around and attempts to hide in an alley. 

Stealth: 24

The soldiers move to follow, but from within the smoke comes Riikana's voice. "No pursuit! We're unarmed and unprepared, and we have men down."

You are now out of initiative order. Post at will.

Ryder runs out the door and shuts it behind him, face a portrait of anger and grief. He makes it around the corner Vishal's around and leans against the wall, panting lightly and glaring at Vishal.

Tiem makes his way carefully over to you all, keeping an eye on the shut door. "We should leave in case Riikana decides to mount a pursuit with the Kintam forces."
