Smiling Vishal replies, “That’s right River. And don’t you ever forget it.” He then sit down on the ground and opens up his arms for the little bird saying, “Come on. Join me for a hug and cuddle.”
Taran starts as Sirkashtai speaks, "O-of c-course, Ma'am, I m-mean Mi- I-I-I mean S-S-Sirk-kasht-tai. I-I'd b-be h-honored, I-I m-mean, I w-would a-apreciate th-the he-help..."
After Poison
Taran quailed before Mr. Druhdaar's annoyance, and he almost took a step back... But, he had to. Mr. Druhdaar had a right to know. He followed him for a little while before speaking.
"M-Mister D-druhdaar... I-I n-need t-to t-tell you, a-and I, um, I w-wouldn't t-tell you the w-worst p-parts, b-but, I-I kn-know... I know it-it's im-important..."
Taran closes his eyes, and takes a deep breath, saying the mantra, and mentally stepping back.
"Father is dead." He says in a near monotone, "And... Father wasn't a g-g-good person." He's trembling like crazy, hands knotted and wringing in front of him.
Concentrating in the task at hands he changes his features of those of a male soldier with a scar in his left eye, while his clothes change to a uniform of the Harmonious Shield. He then stands up serious "Ready." in a different male voice.
As Taran speaks out, Druhdaar gives another grunt, this one seemingly one of thoughtfulness and acknowledgement. He sits down heavily on a nearby boulder, scratching his beard before replying:
" How do you know he's dead ? Is that first hand info ? "
The big druid is looking straight at the young hunter, his eyes calm and steady as he takes in the youth's obvious distress.
" Mmmhph. He did some good things, is all I know. Plenty of good things. For some people. As for others... " Druhdaar shrugs, before noticing a disturbing gleam in Taran's eyes.
" Okay, hold them horses a minute here, boy: you think he wasn't good... or you're telling me it ? " his eyes harden: " unless... someone else put some crazy thoughts in yer head, uh ? That prancing kalashtar moppet, maybe ? " At first the druid seems to make an effort to control his temper, but surprisingly enough his eyes soon clear and his breathing grows steadier as he assumes a meditative position. After a few moments keeping his eyes closed, he continues, this time more calmly.
" No matter what it is, just spit it out. Truth can hurt. It's called... being alive. "
His eyes remain fixed on Taran, but this time they seem to reveal something new. Something disturbingly close to... what, compassion ? It's certainly not pity, but neither is it the contained rage Taran grew accustomed to during his time around the big woodsman...

Taran nearly takes a step back, his body bracing for a blow. Druhdaar respects Father, has said he wanted to be like Father. The fear is like a scar, recently reopened and more painful than normal.
"I-I-I'm sorry, M-Mr. D-Druhdaar."Taran whispers, tears pricking at his eyes. "I... I w-was told b-by Trailblazer Ranari. She s-said he d-d-died on a m-mission. Th-there was only one s-surviving member of the R-Road."
Taran will wrap his arms around himself, bending over with the weight of the past. "Sh-she w-was also the one wh-who told me...th-that everything he d-did to me, all m-my tr-training was wrong."A tear drops to the ground between them. "P-please, d-don't b-be like F-Father, y-you're so k-kind Mr. Druhdaar... S-stay kind p-please, l-like you have been."
Druhdaar says nothing for a long while. His green eyes darkening under furrowed brows, he seems lost in his own thoughts. He finally straightens up and puts a clumsy paw on Taran's shoulder as he mumbles gruffly:
"Get over it, kiddo: no-one in this world was raised to be kind. Only Fools and Saints manage that sort of thing long enough, and they generally end up being killed, ahead of anybody else... "
For the first time in a long while, the druid cracks a real, gap-toothed smile at Taran, who looks in amazement at this rare sight.
" I did respect yer old man. And he taught me serious skills. Still does to this day. Just... let go of him and stop trying to compare : you're doin' FINE. D'ye hear me, boy ? "
He pats the young hunter on the shoulder - really awkwardly - and gives him a gentle shove as he starts his way back towards the main camp, shouting back over his shoulder.
" Time to walk on yer own paws, Wolf Cub ! "
With another heavy, meaningful look at Taran, the burly forest druid turns his back on the conversation and leasurely makes his way back to their cave.
The last thing the young hunter hears as the big man walks off is a truly awesome sound: Druhdaar is actually chuckling with glee and shaking his head in wonderment, as his massive form recedes into the distance.

Taran stares after Mr. Druhdaar's retreating form for a long minute. Turning everything he said over again and again.
Mr. Druhdaar was kind, but only saints and fools were kind? He'd learned from Father, and was happy about it? It... Father being a bad person didn't matter? None of it mattered to the kind Mr. Druhdaar but Esteemed Vishal had been upset?
Taran felt the shuddering in his mind, the yawning of the depths again. What... What did it all mean?

Edit: His mind is too worried, to jumbled to focus properly on finding his quarry though. Only on keeping himself one with the shadows, deep enough that none can see him. Except the green eyes.
Before the group starts making its way towards the water soldiers, Druhdaar spots the familiar shape of a small bird perched atop a nearby tree.
" You all go, I'll catch up. " the bearded colossus announces soberly, before edging closer to the bird, who's eyeing him curiously with its small, beady eyes while flying from branch to branch in the small clearing.

He will try and convince the bird to do a little scouting work for them and find at least one of the water soldier's location. If the bird refuses, Druhdaar will try and get closer to the soldiers' patrolling route and attempt the same with another animal, until he finds what they're looking for. **

Juhaan is trying to catch up his breath as if he was running "We found out they were trying to hit this monolith and had left just hours before. We figured you would need help asap so we did our best to catch up with you guys and bolster our defenses before we got attacked!" he faces the scout "Please tell me we haven't been hit yet! He nearly growled at the boom, the entire plan ruined before it had even started. The recriminations built up in his mind, but deep in the shadows they'd only build, waiting for later.
Hunters could be clever though, and the Changeling was trying to fool their prey. "Searching the area" he'd say voice monotoned as it echoed out of the caverns, trying to melt back into the grasses, but the instant the scout moved to attack or flee, he'd fire his crossbow, the special whalloping bolt already in place.
