Salazar sighs and shakes his head. "You missed my point entirely."He deadpans and crosses his arms in discomfort. "And while the edicts of my faith dictate one should seek to unwed such mired misinterpretations from truth, I fear it would be wiser for me to avoid . Maybe if I was evangelist instead of a scholar..."
Slightly later...
Salazar trails off on that point rolling his eyes, and caring no more to discuss the topic. Seeing Anders move over to the chimney, the scholar watches from a distance, but appeared more curious than concerned... until a javelin gets thrown... and then a body come tumbling down. Aside from a grimace and maybe a nervous gulp, the cleric bad up until he was at least at the top of the stairs, and quietly but hurriedly goes through a prayer for alacrity for when the time comes.
(Since I can't ready more than one action, assume that d4 goes to Salazar's initiative roll)

As Anders readies himself once more, with Ryner preparing to blast anything that even might come down, and Salazar attempting to get into combat swiftly, a Cautious head pokes it's way over the rim of the hole, a shield blocking most of it's visage. A moment later, Anders Javelin sails up, but bounces off the chimney walls just one too many times, making the attack fail as it sails up to the top of the hole, flying off into the darkness, clattering against the rock uselessly.
A moment later... 17 a nearly perfectly tossed bottle flies down, smashing against the ground, erupting into flames as the Alchemists fire explodes.
Anders, I need you to make a DC 10 Dexterity check, or become ignited in alchemical fire. If passed, the fire will still ignite the area directly below the hole, illuminating it.

*Sighing* as his javelin is deflected off the shield, Ander is trying to get a good look at the head that pops out when the returning missile of glass and fluid is lobbed below. With a *grunt* of concerted effort as he holds his own shield up before himself, the desperate paladin throws his armoured form away from the chimney alcove, but far too slowly as the glass shatters across his shield, coating not just the protective metal barrier, but also much of his armour below with fire as the now ignited liquid splashes across his form. Most of Ander's tabard falls ashen to the floor as the broad-shouldered man seeks to roll across the stone floor to douse the scorching flames, and it is all the disciplined templar can do to keep from crying out in pain from the burns that the vicious stuff inflicts upon him.

However, at the start of each of your turns, you must roll a dc 10 Dex "Check" to attempt to snuff out the flames, or take 1d4 Fire damage, continuing until you pass. This will cost you your action.)
Ryner runs up to the chimney (Since theres no other way for you to shoot your spell without LoS), where the alchemist fire is burning, and launches an eldritch blast at the creature. Even without the shield, the attack would have missed as the goblin deftly dodges out of the way, the blast hitting the roof of the cave, doing nothing special.

[OOC] All good on the using my next turn to put out the flames. Questions though - I thought that alchemist fire in 5e was just a direct hit thing, no AoE. No worries if this is a homebrew or DM effect choice though. If we move out of the fire (even to wait it out if it's short lived), would we still be able to see the top of the chimney?
Also, I assume those wolves in the initiative order are the dead ones? Or do we hear howling? :o

Hearing the distant howling and realising that their foes are not, at least for the moment, coming down the chimney, Ander looks out to see Salazar exposed and alone in the stream... which must lead further into the caverns and is therefore where these approaching foes are likely to appear from. Moving down the stair to put his back against the stone, the somewhat scorched paladin will look across at the white-braided man who wisely retreated to the stream when the fire exploded in the cave and say,'
"Moving to the water was wise, Salazar, but as they are not descending the chimney, I fear that our enemies are all rushing to come down this path at us even as we speak. If I take up a defensive position outside the cave mouth and draw these foes to me, then you and Ryner may be able to ambush any enemies who rush past this point. It is a risk, but may be our best chance of defeating these villains quickly."
Regardless, Ander will clutch his warhammer with one hand while laying the other now glowing guantlet over his heart, entoning,'
"Lathander, Morning Lord and Father of the Ever Rising Dawn, I pray thee grant this humble servant healing so that I may continue to strive for justice in your name."
Ander, believing his plan sound, will then salute both his new companions, drop his visor and move out to stand in plain sight beside the stream near the trees outside the cave mouth. [OOC] If he has time, after using his action to use lay on hands on himself (healing 4 HP) and moving to the trees about 15-20 feet from the cave mouth, Ander will ready his javelin to throw at the first foe he sees while shouting a battle cry to Lathander.

Ryner easily avoids the flicker of the flames, and avoids catching himself on alchemical fire. The fire eventually sputtering out, having nothing to feed on. Heavy, thundering steps echo through the cave, as whatever the ???? was began to move. Hideous, guttural .. bestial laughter echoed almost as loudly.
After a moment, a heavy, thunderous rumble reverberates the entire cave, sending dust and rock powder loose, as the crash of many many mighty stones crashing against rock and water as Salazar, and Anders take up their position, even as the holy light fills the Paladin, healing him, if only partially. After a moment, a Giant creature came to stand at the edge of visibility, atop the bridge, as it watched the group down below, with half-cover from the cave itself blocking most of his body. A wicked grin on it's face.
Another moment passes... and water comes rushing down, like a flood, torrential waters pour down on Salazar and Anders, attempting to push them out of the cave. Ryners position keeps him safe enough, though the waters do tug at him as well.
Anders, Salazar, make a DC 15 STR save, or a DC 10 Dex save or be swept away by the waters, outside the cave, and take 1 bludgeoning damage, if passed take NO damage. Ryner, your saves are DC 7 STR, or DC 5 Dex.

[OOC] Anders moved outside the caves by 15-20 feet (to stand down near the trees as a decoy to draw the enemies on and past his hopefully waiting allies), so wouldn't the water just disperse out across the ground out here? Also, Ander suggested to Salazar that he move out of the steam up onto the bank against the stone wall, ready to ambush anyone coming down the passage, though I realise Mehren didn't respond. Just pointing it out in case.
Regardless, dexterity save: 6
Hearing the building rumble of the approaching water as he is moving towards the cave entrance, Ander spins around and throws himself to the side of the cave wall just as the torrent of water smashes into and past him, flowing up, over and around the heavily weighted warrior, but then soon pouring forth from the cave mouth to disperse outside the cavern complex.
Taking a gasping breath, the determined templar continues with his plan moving out to tress beyond the cave to spin around with javelin ready in hand as he yells a dual battle cry and shouted praise to the Morning Lord,'
"Come face me, vile cowards! Let Lathander's holy light burn away your past evils and surrender... or be vanquished!"
