Burgee moves quickly away from the pack of twigs as he calls upon the winter frost. Ice begins to form in his hand and he carefully throws an icicle at one of the blights in the group. (Attack: 19 Damage: 10 plus - DEX DC13 or 7 for everyone within 5ft except Cirrus, Paavu, and Rose)

Cirrus saps out his weapons, kneeling and taking aim, intent to interrupt the weed, but instead, he outright kills it. Paavu continues stomping on the ground like a petulant child who's had his toy stolen to little effect, as he continues to miss the tiny creatures! Well except for the one who an past, it falling flat on its face. And the roots receding as the caster among them falls. Burgee's knife, sinking deep into one, before exploding from its chest like an alien. The rest feeling the shrapnel, but it failing to kill them. Rose charges towards the nearest one, wailing a whispered battlecry as she brings her hammer down, all while Gwen attempts to stab one of the remaining ones. Both landing a solid blow, and finishing off their tumbleweeds.
The last remaining blight charges, thorns out, and attempts to jump into Paavu's neck...
Inevitably you all collapse on the last one and it falls beneath your blows... combat is over.
"...I'm gonna own this one. This was my bad. Even if I wasn't cursed, that was probably just a bad move in general."

You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
"It was a joint effort." Paavu deadpans as he looked to Burgee. But as his own efforts to crush the blights was a mixed bag of success and visual unintended ridiculousness, the goliath would leave things there. "At very least, we not need worry of ambush from north. But, may yet find clues of target's passing. May yet they even had hand in sowing these creatures in earth and snow." He lets the words sink in for a second or two before taking out the Yklwa and begining the march northward along the path.
Along the way he would continue to scan the area for any signs of more impending trouble passively. Any ruins he spot while going that way are stopped at by at least Paavu to more thoroughly explore and searched.
Burgee cut a sharp look at the Goliath but let it pass for now. He continued with the group but tapped the new staff on the ground and a subtle shimmer of light surrounded him. "Cirrus, if you take off the armor, I can bless you for a while too," Burgee added.
Mage armor could bump Cirrus to 16. Don't think it can help anyone else.
Rose calling on Selune, heals herself a bit, and heals Cirrus for 9 (already applied). As they seem to be the only ones who took any damage in the small struggles. With Paavu inevitably moving north.. These ruined, side-by-side cottages look as though they might have been the homes of prosperous shopkeepers or well-off farmers in their time. All that remains are collapsed walls and piles of debris. Several young trees have grown up in the midst of the ruins. Rose and Gwen lagging behind.
Paavu looks inside the formerly grandiose shop, and stuffed in the back under a crumbling flagstone... an old chest among the roots of the tree growing up through the house. The chest contains 700 cp, 160 sp, and 90 gp. It also appears this was where the twigblights had been previously, the scuffle before and the noise caused by it drawing them all out.
Once thoroughly sure that there was nothing else there, he pressed on northward, to what appeared to formerly be a tavern.. A weathered signboard by the door of this large building shows the faded image of a workhorse holding a flagon of ale. The building is sagging and dilapidated, but it is more intact than the ruins across the road.
Carefully entering the building, he almost immediately spots four ashen corpses littering the ground, one on the staircase to the rotted out second floor, two slumped against the table, and one almost directly in front of him. The eastern half of the building is the old common room, while the western portion held the kitchens and the brewer’s vats. Huge wooden tuns stand to the west, and a faint smell of yeast still permeates the air.
Cirrus thinks it's a bit counter intuitive to take off armor to become more protected, but he does it regardless, thinking he has nothing to lose anyway.

"Now boy blue, you can move quicker and let the weave protect you," Burgee says as he taps the staff and Cirrus is surrounded by a faint glow of protection.
Burgee then notices the vats and investigates them to see if any contain fresh ale. "Maybe a wee bit o' the draught will keep up the spirits eh?" But he's not quite sure how to tell so decides it best to leave it alone. (Investigation: 3)
"More Boon than Bane." Paavu comments as he looks from the chest to stare around their surroundings. He could just imagine them bursting out of the debris to surround, and likely get the drop on the group, if not for Burgee's accident. He then grimaced, the thought not having sat well with him. With a shake of his head, he turns and flags down Gwen and Rose before scooping up and showing a handful of coin. And with their help, or at least their knowing, he packs the contents of the chest into his backpack for safe keeping and dividing up once the group had a real moment to rest.
Pressing on northward before long, Paavu finds himself licking his lips upon finding a tavern. Even though he knew it unlikely to possess what apart of him ached for, he still carefully steps past the threshold, and looks around from there. "Odd... Ash?" He mumbled, looking from nearby corpse to the cieling above. "But most intact.. can't be fire... Hmm..." As he is trying to piece things together, at least Burgee helps himself inside for the vats, startling him out of his reverie. "Hm? Best not. Perhaps. But any clues found? Thing of note." He said as he took out the morningstar to shove the body at his feet over some.

Vogan - [Goliath-Hill]Bard - ???(A Dungeon-Delving Campaign Group C)
Cirrus strips down to his small-clothes, or at-least very close to it, and a shimmering energy surrounds him, raising his AC to equal the spells stated effects. Feeling somewhat safer, if somewhat more exposed. Burgee pushing past the rest, as Gwen and Rose watched the outside to make sure nothing came inside to surprise them, keeping a lookout.
Burgee starts to inspect the barrels for ale but for whatever reason he gives up swiftly, likely due to several splinters entering the more solid bits of his fingers and frustrating the poor bird before giving up in exasperation, after making no progress.
Paavu prodding one of the corpses to move it out of his immediate path, and his prodding is met with a low, airy-moan of wind going through a not-so-solid throat. The corpses in the room beginning to rise. RRuuURagh! Around burgee, several bodies drop from the area's that would normally be additional space for ingredients or glasses, several thuds hitting the floor. And from upstairs..... scuttling can be heard... heading for the stairs.
And swiftly, you all find yourself surrounded by enemies, especially Burgee. They also seem quicker on the draw as they begin their assault.
Enemies are up first.
Two of the weird, ashen undead begin to attempt to assail Burgee, the other three targeting Paavu as the nearest target.
One Ashen corpse swings wildly at Burgee, but misses, the other however, slams hard enough to break a tooth loose (had Burgee any teeth). Paavu, watches the other three get up, two of them swinging wildly, and easily being blocked with his shield, however as he attempts to block the third, he misses the timing, and the ashen corpse's hand slams against his shield-elbow, breaking it by snapping it in the 'wrong direction.' As whatever waves of pain shoot through him, he see's a pale, white creature climbing on the wall, then the roof.... and as it took aim, a weird, sticky substance emits from its maw, surround Paavu, and the three ashen corpses around him, and struggle as he might... Paavu finds himself unable to move much. And unable to shift from where he is entirely.
Adhesive Filament. The cave fisher can use its action to extend a sticky filament up to 60 feet, and the filament adheres to anything that touches it. A creature adhered to the filament is grappled by the cave fisher (escape DC 13), and ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage. The filament can be attacked (AC 15; 5 hit points), but a weapon that fails to sever it becomes stuck to it, requiring an action and a successful DC 13 Strength check to pull free. Destroying the filament deals no damage to the cave fisher, which can extrude a replacement filament on its next turn.
Gwen and Rose both hear this, and begin to move inside. (Will continue their actions after I know what everyone else is doing. the room is 15 X 20 wide, there is little room to move.
Reaction: Stone's Endurance - Reducing the damage from the crit by 13.
Stone's Endurance: You can focus yourself to occasionally shrug off injury. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d12. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled, and reduce the damage by that total. After you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
At the instant Paavu's joint began to give, skin and bone hardens and almost locks into place... but a second or two too late. He would feel no pain, or even notice any change until he went to raise his guard again in a well practiced motion. A sharp glance revealed nothing as the filament made checking difficult, to say the least. But the fact something /definitely/ felt off had been enough for the goliath. Fingers could still be felt, but the arm wouldn't bend to his command.
Suppressing a budding note of concern, runes flare to life about his new armor as weapon arm is worked into striking down hard upon the lucky undead. "We have an undead problem. And some... sort of spider as well. Don't touch the.. whatever this shite is." He states a curt warning for the others behind. Others he could not quite turn to see.
Bonus Action: Activate Haug Rune.
Haug Rune: This rune’s magic bestows a resilience reminiscent of a hill giant. While wearing or carrying an object inscribed with this rune, you have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance against poison damage.
In addition, you can invoke the rune as a bonus action, gaining resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage for 1 minute. Once you invoke the rune, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Rose looks to Gwen when she hears the noise inside and sighs. I swear its always something. Let's go save the boys love. Walking inside and seeing what appear to be some sort of undead Rose touches her amulet and must like the last time a burst if holy energy erupts and fills the room before quickly dissipating. Rose then looks to see a clearly injured Paavu and shouts a word of healing to hopefully alleviate some of the pain. Making a note that she would have to tend to the big mans arm later Rose tightened her grip on her hammer and prepared to enter the fray.
Divinity: Turn Undead
As an action, you present your holy symbol and speak a prayer censuring the undead. Each undead that can see or hear you within 30 feet of you must make a WIS saving throw (DC 13). If the creature fails its saving throw, it is turned for 1 minute or until it takes any damage. A turned creature must spend its turns trying to move as far away from you as it can, and it can’t willingly move to a space within 30 feet of you. It also can’t take reactions. For its action, it can use only the Dash action or try to escape from an effect that prevents it from moving. If there’s nowhere to move, the creature can use the Dodge action
"Ah, another joint effort I suppose?" Burgee asks as he lifts his staff hand up to protect himself and notices that with the motion an bright light that seems to add some protection surrounds him for the moment. "Maybe we stop poking things without looking a little closer?" Burgee adds as he calls out to the winter and sends another icicle out toward one of the nearby enemies. (Attack: 17 Damage: 8 Plus anyone within 5ft DEX DC13 or 10)

Cirrus follows in after Gwen and Rose, in disbelief that their group has gotten themselves into another fight immediately after the last one.
As burgee says "Maybe we stop poking things without looking a little closer?" Cirrus chimes in, replying "I second that, and that's coming from me of all people!."
Cirrus is going to notice the strand that is stuck to Paavu, and is going to potentially make himself defenseless try to sever the gooey cord with his blades. 24 to hit, 6 damage, if that misses:16 to hit, 5 damage.
instead of that second attack he will use his bonus action to give a bardic Inspiration to Paavu because his arm appears to be broken, and who knows how that's going to affect him in combat.
You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
Paavu takes a hefty swing at one of the Corpses lucky enough to be trapped with him, as all three of them were, and manages to just barely land a blow across one of their skulls its body erupts in a plume of ash, and sucking in a breath in reactive shock, inhales a mouthful of the necrotic, ashy substance... (disadvantage on attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks for 1 minute/10 turns)
All of the ashen corpses suddenly feeling terror except 5, the one behind Burgee, which Burgee then flings a knife of frigid ice at it, the knife sinking deep within the creatures body before exploding simultaneously with the ashen corpses necrotic ash, both of them taking the full brunt of the damage, however Burgee miscalculated the space he had, as additional frigid shrapnel fly through his body (Burgee takes 10 + damage in spoiler since he's within 5 feet of the target and nat 1'd the save)
In that instant, Burgee inhales sharply, and sucks in nearly ALL the necrotic ash..... (disadvantage on attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks for 2 minutes/20 turns)
(AS cirrus doens't specify where he attacks, I'll assume the most logical side)
Cirrus charges up, slashing at the sticky substance, managing to hit it JUST hard enough to slice all the way through, between two of the corpses, freeing both Paavu and lucky Corpse from the filament, and they both break free. Singing a quick note in Paavu's direction.
Gwen following in, but freezing at the sight of the pale, spider-like being but overcoming her fear, and drawing her crossbow, taking aim at it. Her blow lands perfectly, but barely sinks into the creatures body.. perhaps it has some sort of carapace? Giving Rose inspiration.
Corpse 1, and 3 flee up the stairs, while 2, and 4 are strapped in the filament still, in terror at the sight of Roses convictions, until they are out of sight, and that gives Burgee a place to move while only provoking a single AOO. Corpse 5, who remains ignorant of Rose takes another slam at Burgee, as ice shards are still lodged in its frame.
overcoming Burgee's mage armor, and slamming into his head again.
the Weird spider-being scuttles across the room out of reach of everyone except Paavu, who is tall enough to reach by grace of height and spits more of its filament where Gwen and Rose are. Both of them becoming trapped within the filament, and only roses nose being left free of it, making it harder to breathe.. significantly.
Also the white creature in question below:
The corpses who can't run, begin flailing in circles, gaining the Dodge action. Party is up

As much as Paavu has enough on his plate between a lungful of ash and enemies a plenty, Burgee's comment earns him a flat look. As the Kenku not only brushed past him AND the bodies on the ground by the entryway in his rush for booze, but he had not ONCE given them more than a glance at most. Whereas he ACTUALLY LOOKED and had been in the process of doing just as Burgee suggested. Cirrus' hot take on the matter might've earned him a glare as well if not for the chaos of fleeing undead forcing him to focus up on the situation. That, and his freeing of the Goliath having freed him.
"Less fool's talk, and more undead slaying." He states flatly in between ragged breaths as his gaze affixes upon the spider. Trudging his way as closer as he needed, a second rune is engaged the second rune of his armor with but a thought, causing his shield to glow. And still in ignorance of the deadened arm, he brigs Grol's mace up in an uppercut swing meant to flatten the creature against the ceiling.

Cirrus puts his shortsword away so he can give a Healing word to Burgee, healing for 4
"I feel like those corpses that went upstairs are up to something, but unfortunately we don't have time for that." Cirrus is going to try and focus his attention on the only thing that can't be affected by Rose holy energy: the spiderthing. He's gonna throw a dagger at it. 13 to hit, 7 damage. Ideally if he can pick it up afterwards, he will.
"And I think we need to stay away from the corpses when they die, maybe then we won't breathe in the ash?"

Burgee asks as he lifts his staff hand up to protect himself and notices that with the motion an bright light that seems to add some protection surrounds him for the moment.

24 to hit, 6 damage, if that misses:
16 to hit, 5 damage.instead of that second attack he will use his bonus action to give a bardic Inspiration to Paavu because his arm appears to be broken, and who knows how that's going to affect him in combat.
You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
Reactive body saves... Paavu: 13
Dance till your dead saves: 5 - 3 - 17 - 6 - -1
Ice knife saves: Burgee: 8 Ash Corpse: -1 Burgee additional damage - 6
Burgee puff puff save: 14
Gwen wis save: 12
Gwen @ CF: Attack: 14 Damage: 11
Corpse @ B : Attack: 21 Damage: 4
Gwen/Rose saves: 4 - 15
Party is up
Occassional Dungeon Master.
Bonus Action: Activate Ise Rune.
Put your spoiler here.
Action: Attack w/ Grol's Morningstar.
To Hit: 17 For: 6 non-magical piercing damage on Spiderthing.
(Assuming there's a save ends against the necrotic ash, here's the end turn roll: 16.)
Goyo - [Tortle]Druid/Warlock - Circle of Sea/Celestial (Libretalia)
Vogan - [Goliath-Hill]Bard - ???(A Dungeon-Delving Campaign Group C)
Jack Vicvan - [Eladrin]Warlock - Archfey
Cirrus puts his shortsword away so he can give a Healing word to Burgee, healing for 4
"I feel like those corpses that went upstairs are up to something, but unfortunately we don't have time for that." Cirrus is going to try and focus his attention on the only thing that can't be affected by Rose holy energy: the spiderthing. He's gonna throw a dagger at it. 13 to hit, 7 damage. Ideally if he can pick it up afterwards, he will.
"And I think we need to stay away from the corpses when they die, maybe then we won't breathe in the ash?"

Rose, being unable to see amd hardly able to breath thanks to the damn spider goo spends most of her time struggling to break free. STR check 13 However failing to break free all she manages to say is a series of muffled curses.
Burgee flies out of harms way and then sends a bolt of lightningup towards the ghastly creature. (Attack: 18 Damage: 16)
Tempestuous Magic
Starting at 1st level, you can use a bonus action on your turn to cause whirling gusts of elemental air to briefly surround you, immediately before or after you cast a spell of 1st level or higher. Doing so allows you to fly up to 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.
