(Yes. I want a reliable and easy way to tell direction before I try to find cragmaw)

You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
As the party buys the compass, Vimak will look around the in and outside of the store. He is watching for anyone who looks like any sort of adventurer. Rangers, he has heard, often travel with animal companions, so he is especially alert for large cats. Or other combinations of humanoids and animals. He is looking specifically for the person Sildar mentioned.
If he spots someone who looks likely, he will approach them. He puts his shield on his back and seeks to look as reasonable as possible. "I am Vimak Hellbringer Katho-Laga. You," he will say to such a person, "look like an experienced traveler. We," he will point out Cirrus and and Bastille, "are willing to divide into even shares any treasure we find while ridding the world of a gang that oppressed this town, the Redbrands. Will you travel with us to do this? What say you?"
(Dunno WTH has been going on with DNDB the last 2 days.. SUPER lag..)
Cirrus and Bastille quickly rush in, and make their purchases, both finding what they desire, and getting it at marked price. Both nearly leaving Vimak behind before noticing he had gone another direction.
Vimak, had heard what had been said about the ranger and decided to dig into it. Vimak spots a bow angled just around the corner, though there were no signs of any flora and or fauna in the vicinity. As he makes his way around it, he spots a man in his late fifties, graying hair, lean muscle, and the stereotypical forest greens and earthy browns coating his armor. Before Vimak even gets within twenty feet, it's clear the man has noticed him. His expression is neutral. Its clear he moves in and out of the city often enough to not be the type of ranger who like some druids, abhors city or townsfolk.
Waiving a hand in greeting, he waits until Vimak is within a reasonable distance before responding. Hail Mr. Katho-Laga. And I am quite traveled. I am humbled that you would notice. I would dare say i've been up and down the Sword coast twice atleast in my fifty long years. And I have no care for treasure. I just need enough to get by. So whatever it is you offer to me, lower it to a reasonable fair wage, and I will be happy enough. The question is, where are you trying to get to?"
(can you tell me what that "marked price" is? For some reason it's not equipment. Personally, I don't think that makes any sense, it's such basic survival equipment. 0/10 worst game of the year. too much water.)

(I don't think compasses exist in DnD. Because there is a magical Wondrous Item called Orb of Direction or something like that. It's literally a compass but it had to be a magic item for some unknown reason. )
"We are trying to get to Cragmar Castle, which we understand to be north of here. But, it seems to me, much is north of here." This is good, Vimak thinks. Rangers that have lived as long as this one has are sure to be experienced. "If you could help us get to the castle, we would appreciate it. If you could help us battle the lawless ones there, we would appreciate it even more." He takes his coin bag from a side pocket of his backpack. "What do you think is a fair wage? How do you feel about half now and half after the job?"
The ranger looks at it and says "whatever you feel I'm worth. I haven't heard of a cragmaw castle, but, there is a large, abandoned fort some ways up around where you say. I can lead you there, by road or by wood. And I can get us there within three days at a brisk pace. Are you and your comrades ready to depart? My business here was already done. As for fighting? Depends on what I see when I get there. Fair?"
(Having this guy lead us is probably the best choice. That being said, trying to find the castle is the entire reason I took speak with animals.)
(also, it's probably a good thing that this guy isn't from around here, or might have heard that three strange drifters came into town, and lured a bunch of people out into the woods and one of them survived. -_-; )

Vimak says, "Let's see if your abandoned fort is the same as our Cragmar Castle. How does that sound?" He thinks for a moment, scratching his chin. "Is travel by road or wood faster?"
He thinks for a moment more. "I might be interested in more rations and a healing potion, if those things can be purchased. How about you, Cirrus? Bastille? Do you need to buy anything?"
(I doubt potions are for sale in this town. Am I wrong?)

Bastille says to Vimak with her Chain shirt, "I'm carrying 10 days worth of Rations and I do not believe I wish to buy healing potions. This armor would be all."
(indeed he sells everything that is 49GP or below, lol but I'd be willing to let him have a single one despite the module)
That sounds fine to me. I'll be waiting for you all on the edge of town on the Triboar Tail. And there is no faster way, atleast not so long as you have me guiding you. Just follow what I do, and we can keep a brisk pace.
And with that he offers Vimak a handshake, briskly, before heading to the only northern road.
Vimak buys a healing potion! He holds the small red bottle in one big palm and tucks it into a pouch on his belt. He also collects five days of rations.
After the ranger goes, he turns to his colleagues. "I'm eager to pour vengeance on the heads of our enemies. Anything else we need to do in town?"
OOC: Would you like us to add these items to our inventories, Raiketsu?

(I'll allow it, i see no reason for a compass to not exist, as ships needed them to navigate ~.~ And lets say 15 g)
