Nedrick seeing the undead approaching and the door opening knows he must take his shot.
Nedrick draws his poisoned dagger and glides into the room. As soon as he sees the person inside he charge at them and strike at them with his dagger. If hits the person must make a CON Save of 13 or be paralyzed!
Attack: 10 Damage: 5
If possible, Nedrick will run the person through with his Rapier.
As Nedrick comes into the room, he sees a robed person lock eyes with him and immediately flee into circular portal and disappear before he can get his attacks off.
Nedrick still has movement available if wishes to pursue.
Hunding quickly follows Nedrick into the room, sees the figure go in the portal and without hesitation, jumps in after him. Nedrick, TT and Mort quickly follow. Rhaucred hits skeleton 5 with his cleaver and is able to finish it off before running into the room and jumping into the portal. As Rhaucred jumps into the portal more skeletons start to enter the room and Rhaucred can see the cabinet in the corner open with a robed figure emerging. He hears a voice say "Nobody will interrupt the master's plans of ...." when the portal closes with a quick beep.
The crew passes forward through the weak portal. They're immediately met by a disconcerting world inside what appears to be some sort of cavern. The ground beneath their feet is cracked and dry and the air is hot and dusty. You can feel your skin begin to sweat and your lungs burn with each breath. Their immediate instinct is to seek shelter, to find some form of relief from this atmosphere. Regardless of the horrible conditions they don't feel like you're in danger. This world is definitely gentle, but it's a danger you can handle.
Far off to the left you hear growls and grunts of odd looking creatures to say the least. Even though they seem harmless and curious, the time to take risks is definitely not now. It's clear there are muscular creatures, thin creatures, and what you think might be gliding creatures of some sort.
Combat is over for now. Please award you characters 150 xp
Nedrick sheathes his weapons and puts his hands to his temples rubbing them and closing his eyes.
"Well... Companions it appears we have been duped."
Nedrick coughs slightly.
"I do say this is most uncomfortable and inconvenient. We do need to begin moving before our hosts decide that we are no longer welcome in this wretched place."

Rhauceed pulls on the edges of his robe in the heat, "im not sure how long we could last here even if these creatures don't take us. Though i can't say it is too much worse than the tower. I do believe i saw the necromancer in the closet the moment i stepped through."
I would like to make an arcana or history check. (My bonus is the same) to figure out what kind of place or plane we may be.
Mort looks around in the dark cave and is able to spot a single exit from the room they are in. The walls are similar to the caves that were under the mansion, but the temperature is much higher and the ground is dry and cracked. Mort looks at the creatures in more detail is able to see a weird furry worm with a glowing light on it head. He watches as it moves across the cave floor making groans and growls that he would of expected to hear from a wolf or bear. Suddenly the worm stands up and begins to flip away toward the corner of the room as it hits the wall the light extinguishes on it's head and it rolls into a hole in the wall.
Rhaucred looks around but is unable to discern much about where they currently are.
Nedrick follows Mort and states, "Blast it! This person is smarter than we thought! Now they know we are coming for them. The question is why send us here? Why not just kill us?"
Mort follows down the cavernous exit for about 10 feet when he can see light coming. He approaches the opening to see a world with black ash in front of him. He is up on a sloped hill that leads down into a large lake of water. To the right he sees a stream of lava that runs to the edge of the cliff and falls into the lake. Everything on this side of the lake is dead, but on the other side of the lake it looks as if it is a thick forest with large trees and a few extremely tall mushrooms that extend over the tree tops.
Mort looks around and notices that the world seems similar to the material plane, but something feels off. The growth of the forest on the other side of the lake seems like they are way too large. Much larger than he would see in the material world. He also feels the magic is more raw and seems to run more freely here. He is not positive what plane or realm he is on, but he knows it is not the material plane. Perhaps with a bit more investigation into the world he could determine it.

Nedrick looks over the surroundings
"As much as I hate to say it my companions it may be best to rest a while and lick our wounds before venturing out. I would hate for the Dragonborn's sacrifice to be met with us dying of exhaustion in this unknown. We must be on our guard. If we elect to do so, I will take first watch."
