"First my dear I would love to know where my love hails from? It seems fate has brought us together but I do not know where my possible future home is? I am quite surprised by your towns friendliness for us mortals. Are you always so welcoming? Do you not fear that evil may fall upon you as it has my homeland?"
Mort joins his comrades for the pie eating contest. Seeing TT go out after one round has left him disappointed for the turtle that always hungers. If the pie was anywhere as good as the wine, this may be the best food TT ever has.
Fairial pauses briefly with her head sticking around the door frame. She looks and Nedrick and says "We know of you mortals but only from distant stories from those that have traveled there and returned. We know of the disparity of you mortals from kind to harsh thus we can not judge before we know. We do not fear for our safety for the king has proclaimed to protect us. In order for him to protect us we must follow his law for this land. He has commanded that we must have a festival of joy in order to celebrate his treaty with a mortal dragon. You all must have traveled here to celebrate with us and thus the festival must continue and I have to make another pie for the next pie eating contest!"
Fairial storms back into the kitchen and more sounds of clanging and banging can be heard.
in an attempt to console his turtle pal, mort pats TT on the back
”There there, i know you did your best. *hiccup* If you are feeling peckish, i spotted a few food vendors over there. lets take a walk and hassle some locals on the way.
"Please allow me to assist. I will happily hand you ingredients."
Nedrick once again tries to maintain eye contact and engagement with Fairial.
"Thank you so much for sharing. The last thing I want to do is break laws of this new land and thus we must celebrate! I am curious, how long have you been celebrating and how long is this fun festivity to continue?"
Nedrick frowns slightly.
"Your speak of a Dragon brings back a painful memory. A companion who was a descendant from mortal dragons actually sacrificed himself to ensure our safety before we were transported here. I would like to meet this Dragon one day if that is allowed. Do you ever see it?"
"Why thank you." She says "Could you fill his with some river berries from that basket over there." She points to a large basket with a lid on it. Nedrick grabs the container and begins to fill it with berries as Fairial continues "Now that I think about it, I believe this is upcoming on the 60th year for celebration. It has been a joyous occasion but we must continue to celebrate."
Nedrick almost momentarily drop the basket at her last statement but she seemingly seems to be unphased and continues without pause.
"I do not believe we are worth enough in this village to have never seen the green dragon Cyrvila as we can only offer our joy and forest gifts. Besides, as far as I know, she has never left the luscious green forest mountain of Funus Mas to the south of here across the lake."
"Absolutely, my dear!"Nedrick says as he goes and begins to fill the basket with river berries.
Nedrick is now becoming concerned regarding the time but tries to pull his emotions together.
"I do not believe that for a moment my dear! You are the most worthy of them all! You are such gracious hosts!"
Nedrick sticks his chest out proudly.
"I will travel to this Dragon myself and tell it of your generosity! Would there be any dangers along the way as I travel south? Or would you happen to have a map to guide me on this noble journey?"
Fairial laughs and takes the berries from Nedrick. She starts mashing them to together, seemingly making a paste as she says "I am not sure if the dragon has stayed in this realm or has gone back to the material plane. If she was still here she would be on top of the green mountain. I do not have a map to get you there, but finding the mountain should be easy. Just follow the stream that runs through the village and it will lead you to a lake. You should see the green forested mountain on the other side of the lake. If I am not mistaken, there should be a road that is nearby that lake will lead you to the king's castle on top. The mountain is quite tall but if you take the road you should be able to make it within a few days to the top. He is very welcoming of guests so he will surely have an audience with you if he is not busy and let you know where the dragon has gone."
Fairial moves and rubs her hands together. The berry goop on her hands magical disappear. She then turns to and starts kneading the dough next to a giant pie shaped dish.
TT continues around the festival, this time spying smoke coming from a tent. The smell immediately pleases her and as she approaches she sees and assortment of mushrooms and peppers on a stick roasting over a fire. She stares longingly at it when a man approaches her and says "Best mushrooms in town if I have to say so myself. Why don't you try them and let me know what you think?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“TT, this festival bores me. Grab as much food as your arms will carry and lets explore the town. I also have some shopping to take care of.
ooc: while out and about mort would like to purchase the following items: food rations, hp potions, 10 gp worth of charcoal, incense, and herbs. i also need to find a brass brazier to use
OOC: Nedrick will purchase a Poisoner's Kit for 50gp no barter. Nedrick will also purchases 5 rations for 2.5 gp.
Nedrick bows to his host.
"Thank you so much my dear! I know your next pie will when. I am off to find the Dragon and then I will return to bask in your beauty."
Nedrick departs the house and smirks as he feels his job is accomplished. He will make his way back to find his companions and gather them together.
"Listen up. This party is not just a party. This has been going on for the last 60 years. I cannot disclose more at the moment but it is time for us to leave. We make our way south where a Green Dragon from our plane lives named Cyrvila lives. This dragon can move between planes and is our best chance for getting home. Finish your business and we make our way home for vengeance... No... For a reckoning..."
Mort and Nedrick are able to purchase the items from local shops around the village. They have decided they will leave as soon as they gather their things.
OOC: I will not be updating inventories so make sure you are taking care of your gold and items. Also, TT, Rhaucred and Hunding I highly suggest you guys try to make some purchases before you leave town. Even if you don't have enough gold for a potion, you should pool your gold to at least buy what you can.
Rhaucred continues wandering around the festival and village asking questions of the locals about religion history and other tidbits of whoever he can get to answer him and is seen every once in a while by other member of the party throughout the town. He will eventually stuble into the potion seller and attempt to purchase a healing potion.
Finding he doesnt have enough gold he will attempt to track down Mort and ask him for a small loan of 5 gold to hoepfully preserve their lives on their next excursion.
He eventually gets back together with the group and hears what Nedrik has to say. " that does sound like our only option so far, but green dragons are very dangerous evil creatures. I do not look forward to dealing with one."
Rhaucred will take a runestone from his bag. " i for one learned some things as well about these people and their runes. The king here is apparently very welcoming to foreugners and has an extremely powerful mage that is helping to protect and train him. It might be a safer bet than the dragon."
Rhaucred is able to discern similar information about the festival that Nedrick has uncovered. He also learns that the religion seems to be focused around a Seelie Court. Something that is not common in the material plane.
History Check: As far as Rhaured can remember, the Seelie Court is a set of Fey beings that thrive in being beautiful and perfect. Queen Tatiana and King Oberon are the current rulers of the Seelie Court. He knows there is more information about them and the court, but he it was an obscure subject, so his memory on the matter is a bit hazy.
Finally sated, TT starts to come back to her senses. Remembering the debt she owes to her companions, she follows them to the shops in order to prepare for the upcoming journey.
TT seeks out Rhaucred in the crowd, isolating herself with him. "Hey, human. I never got the chance to thank you for..." TT seems to blush a little. "You need this to buy more potions, right?" TT hands Rhaucred 30g. Looking shyly to the ground, TT says, "Maybe it's not enough to repay you, but one day..." TT is interrupted by turtle jumping from her pocket in anger. Suddenly, turtle starts biting at Rhaucred! "Hey, turtle! Stoooooop...!!"
Rhaucred is thrown off a but by the seemingly sudden appearance of TT in the crowd and is a little startled by her appearance, but he quickly calms down as she begins to speak.
The turtle bites him, "Oww!, hey hey, I'm not food little guy." He pulls loose from the turtle's beak. "We have to take care of each other right? I already lost one comrade on this adventure so far. I don't want to lose another. There is no need to pay me for it."
He reaches back and begins scratching be back of his head. "Besides, with my penchant for getting into trouble, I'm sure you will get the chance to pay me back sooner or later, and I was able to get enough money for another potion anyway."
He blushes a bit as well and looks down, "Let's just try to take care of each other okay?"
"O...okay..." TT re-pockets her coins, as well as turtle. She seems more determined than ever to repay the debt she owes her allies. While reentering TT's pocket in slow motion, turtle seems to have a look of defiance on its face while keeping his eye on Rhaucred.
The party prepares and purchases their items for their next adventure. Hearing about the Dragon that can travel between planes, they have decided to seek an audience with the king on top of the green mountain. After saying their goodbyes, they follow the stream to the south, still hearing the music until they pass a set of trees when suddenly it disappears.
Continuing on, they find the lake from which they originally came. Across the lake stands a tall mountain in the distance, but instead of green it is a volcano. Lava is running down across the lake into the water. They see the cave they took refugee in the first day they were here, but following the directions given by Fairial, they find what appears to be a worn, forgotten road. It leads towards the direction of the volcano in the distance. There does not to appear to be another mountain in sight. The other direction the road travels leads to a dying forest.
Nedrick stretches and begins walking down the road speaking as he goes.
"Say my large barbarian friend, Hunding. I am curious. How did you come to know this Death God you cry out to in battle? I sometimes ask the Platinum Dragon for guidance but I never really hear it speak to me or have a conversation. If you are willing to share, it appears we have the time, and I would love to know more about this interesting relationship."

mort graciously accepts the flask
“you sir have made this day joyous indeed. i will cherish this gift daily and think fondly...IS THAT A PIE EATING CONTEST??”
mort turns back to the man and kisses him gently on the forehead
“I will never forget you or your wine...HEY TT, WAIT FOR ME!!”
mort takes a giant swig of the mans wine before hiking up his robe and running to join his companions
