(Laughing heartily) My friend Nedrick the Death God does not speak the way that you and I do, but if one becomes as well acquainted with death as I am one starts to learn his wants and desires.
Many cultures worship a deity that claims to represent death, but these are not but insubstantial shadows. The real God of Death cannot be contained by any physical form. Rather it is a pervasive force that craves one thing...balance.
(Looking somber) There was a time during my life when I knew naught but carnage. I was a capable warrior who learned I could be payed well for my skill. During this time I joined the black riders and death and destruction went before us like a plague.
Once I left the riders I realized the error of my ways. Sowing death and carnage haphazardly puts the world out of balance. Death cannot consume life or existence would end, so I will spend my life hunting down these deranged killers. Perhaps one day balance will be restored. Until that day I continue in the dance of death.
"Wait, so you were one of the dark riders? Do you know anything more about what they are trying to do or how they are organized?" Rhaucred says in surprise at Hunding's statement.
"Kind of regret your time associated with them then? Are there any of them that know you in particular or are looking for you? The guy that stole your daughter mostly? Did you not get to know any of them very well?
"Thank you for sharing friend. I am sure your knowledge of their combat tactics will come quiet handy. The Death God seems to be with you so far, guiding your blade through the flesh of this plague. I will fight beside you.. Well behind whomever you are fighting anyday."
After taking a quick break, the group decides to continue on towards the mountain and the king following the road. The ash from the still active volcano in the distance slowly rains down as they continue their journey forward. The heat is becoming worse with every step they take . After following to road for about 2 hours, they are physically exhausted. They need to find a place to retire from the heat. It is currently too hot outside to rest comfortable, but they could manage if needed. They also see an entrance to what appears to be a cave. Perhaps it would be cooler in the cave if they decided to rest their.
The sun has not appeared to move at all throughout the day, even though they are confident they have been awake for at least 14 hours.
Sweating profusely, mort takes a long draw from his flask.
*hiccup* “This heat will be the death of us...I fear that if i do not rest soon, i may...i may...*BLLAAAGGHH* ...puke.”
mort wipes his face with the tattered and stained sleeve of his robe. Giving himself a moment to regain composure, he spots what appears to be an entrance to a cave off in the distance.
“I think it would be wise to take a rest and try to wait out this unbearable heat. Perhaps that cave would provide shade and shelter.”
As mort approaches the entrance to the cave he turns to TT and nedrick.
”It may be beneficial to our party’s safety and well-being if one or both of you scouted ahead first. Id hate to wander blindly into a bears den...or worse”

Nedrick pulls his cloak up around his head to try to shield from the heat.
"That cave is our best chance for reprieve from this heat. I'll scout ahead, please stay about 30 feet behind me in case things go south and I require assistance."
Nedrick will crouch and begin to move as stealthily as he can to the mouth of the cave. He will not yet strike a light source but instead will listen intently for any breathing or signs of life.
TT sits down and begins to prepare for her ritual spell while Nedrick moves stealthily to the mouth of the cave. He listens intently and does not hear anything. The faint sound of air blowing by his face from the cave is the only noise he can hear. Looking into the cave he sees that it is about 8 feet tall and has a rough jagged interior. The inside is dark and extends about 20 feet before it curves off out of sight to the right.
Nedricks waves his hand motioning for the others to approach. Nedrick then takes out his lantern and lights it once they arrive. He stands in the cave entrance with his lantern in one hand and his rapier in the other wondering what they will find inside.
Well the last cave we ventured into was much than we bargained for, but I suppose being slowly roasted is not much better. Into the belly of the beast then
TT continues to set up her ritual outside as the group rushes forward into the cave to escape the heat.
The group enters the cave and follows around the passage leading to the right. It goes straight for 20 feet then opens up into a wide room. There is a faded and torn tapestry that hangs from the east wall, and a pile of what appears to be flasks or bottles that lies in the north-east corner of the room. The cave continues to the west and to the north west.
It is still very warm in here, but it is at least cool enough where a rest could be made at.
The tapestry lies in a metal frame and is mostly torn, battered, and missing, but what remains of it is the top left corner scene. It depicts a green mountain with trees growing abundantly. Above the mountain is a constellation made up of eleven stars that resembles the shape of a buck. Mort is able to recall that in ancient drudic religions, this constellation was called Chlorocebus and was a representation of the god of life. The god was rumored to walk along the deep forests, spawning flowers with it mere presence. Butterflies, or in some cultures fairies, would constantly fly around the god, following and pollinating the forests on its ceaseless wandering.
Nedrick thoroughly investigates the tapestry and finds noting else of interest.
Mort examines the flasks, but there is no liquid left in the bottles and most of them are broken. They are all standard glassware, typically used for potions, water and other liquids.
Rhaucred looks into the room but does not see anything else of note.
TT is performing her ritual currently outside and has about 5 minutes left.

"I certainly don't see anyone else nearby. Give me a moment" I'm going to cast invisibility on myself and investigate further into the cave. "I'll be right back, I'm just going to make sure I don't see anyone further in."

Unfortunately I was not very high up in the organization. I only know that they are a blight on the land and they must be purged.
"Kind of regret your time associated with them then? Are there any of them that know you in particular or are looking for you? The guy that stole your daughter mostly? Did you not get to know any of them very well?
perhaps he danced them to death *hiccup*

If he sees anything he will say if not, "I do say at this point I would face a beast to escape this heat. Its unbearable."
