Rhaucred returns to the party (still invisible) from the other room.
"There is a pretty gruesome torture chamber in the next room and a hidden chest. Further on from that there was a tent with a single kobold outside. I didn't see anyone in the tent, but we could try to capture the Kobald and see if we can question it on its master or when they might return. Nedrick do you think yourself capable?"
TT joins the party in the cave and begins searching for animals. She does not find much at the entrance as the heat has probably forced them to live further in. In the corner of the first room, she is able to find a spider. She starts asks the spider about the cave but it only mutters about being hungry. After many attempts she is able to distract it from it's hunger.
She asks again about the cave and the spider responds about a group of large beasts are always coming through from deeper in the cave and breaking his web. He always is able to run cause he can see their light long before they charge through his web. Happened just today which is why he is hungry. Then he is off again mumbling about being hungry.
TT searches for a few more minutes but is unable to find anymore animals before his spell wears of. A couple of minutes after the spells wears off Rhaucred returns.
Nedrick turns to Rhaucred and looks down to his lantern.
"I do apologize my dear friend. I am afraid my human eyes fail me in this dark environment. With me carrying this lantern I would be but a beacon giving away our position to all the surrounding enemies so to speak. If the Kobold falls asleep I could come upon him silently most likely."
"Its a single kobald. How much help do we need to knock it out and question it? You can bring the lantern if you want. I told you what was in the other room. A single kobald. And you are too scared to come help me tie him up and question him?" There aren't other enemies. Yet. If you want to wait for some more to arrive and catch us unprepared i guess we can do that, but i was hoping we could capture the one ememy we have while that is all we have and figure out what we are dealing with. As someone who can see in the dark. There was nothing else there, but if you all want to go in just to be safe thats fine too, but i'd lrefer not to be attacked from two sides when whoever his master is comes back. Are you all coming or not? They even have a damn tent set up already."
As we make our way to the tent I will point out where the chest is hidden, "They have a chest hidden over there, but we should deal with them first in case it is booby-trapped I think."
I explain my plan to the group as we proceed. " I figure we have superior numbers, we go ahead and call out to him, see if he has a master that is friendly or not, so we don't piss anyone off if we don't have to. Then if it seems he either isn't alone, with the rest in the tent, or his master his not some amicable being, we go ahead and close in, capture him, and figure out what we need. If it seems like there are more in the tent, lets set up a firing line and just blast them and the tent down, deal with the problem all at once. Maybe use some illusions for intimidation purposes. I know you are good at that Mort. Naturally, I'll do the talking since I speak draconic."
The group follows Rhaucred down the western passage further into the cave around the corner to the north. They sees another large, cavernous room with two enclaves on the east side of the room. Skeletons hang from chains and manacles in the south-east enclave, and iron chains hang from the ceiling in the north-east enclave over a large pile of bones. Rhaucred points out where the chest is in that room, and they continue to the northern wall. Rhaucred motions for everyone to stack up around the corner, and he looks around to see the kobold stacking bones in the center of the 8 pillars.
"Ho there, child of the scale! Though I am sure the scorched lands are not as bad for you, we have traveled very far and were looking to rest in this cave here. I did not want to harm you without need, but you obviously have companions. Would it be alright for us to stay here or not? When might you friends or master return?"
The kobold jumps up so surprised to to hear a voice talking to him that he almost knocks down a stacked rock pillar behind him. He turns to Rhaucred and says "Stay in the caves? We.. we do not like visitors into our caves. Do you bring gifts for Kurtulmak?"

hiccup* “of course we have gifts for Kurtulmak, weve brought chests so large and full of gems that were unable to carry it past the intrance....might you assist us? right this way if you would be so kind.”
mort winks to nedrick and walks in the other direction, motioning for the kobold to follow.

"Is this where the great Kurtulmak resides? I have heard his name, but not had the pleasure to bask in his presence. We would be more than gracious to bestow offerings upon him for a chance to stay in this glorious abode. Pray tell i have heard many stories of Kurtulmak, how would you describe his greatness?"
Rhaucred finishes his first statement and a drunkenly Mort stumbles out from behind the wall mumbling on about treasure. Rhaucred quickly grabs him and says "Is this where the great Kurtulmak resides? I have heard his name, but not had the pleasure to bask in his presence. We would be more than gracious to bestow offerings upon him for a chance to stay in this glorious abode. Pray tell i have heard many stories of Kurtulmak, how would you describe his greatness?"
The kobold looks confused at Mort, but Rhaucred seems to calm his worries. He says "Kurtulmak the god of war and mining, who hates all living things besides their kin wonders what offers do you have for him?"
I unsheath my bloody cleaver, and hold it out before him. "I bring this great weapon, slayer of countless and tool without compare. We bring our stories of adventure and battle as never before heard in these halls for the pleasure and glory of Kurtulmak, let me translate his glorious language to these commoners so they too may offer to him."
In common" Nedrick he seems to be alone as far as i can tell, feel free to knock him out whenever you wish. He seems to be here maintaining the temple of some Kurtlmak the god of mining and smithing and is asking for offerings. We can play the part or take him now, but i don't really feel like offering to false gods."
The kobold sees Rhaucred raise the weapon. He begins to move closer to Rhaucred saying "This seems like an interesting weapon. I am sure Kurtlmak will like it." He continues closer until he reaches Rhaucred and puts his hand out for Rhaucred to hand over the weapon.
The kobold motions behind him to the pile of bones in the middle of the pillars as says "This way. You can place it here. We hope to speak with Kurtlmak during the prayer ritual tonight...." the kobold continues to talk in draconic as he moves with his back turned to Rhaucred towards the bones in the middle of the pillars.
Rhaucred adventures off.

Recalling the magic pie she had consumed earlier, TT uses her druidic focus to generate a handful of goodberries.

(Hefting his axe over his back) I am quite renowned for my prowess at Kobold slaying. I suppose it would be a fun experiment to try and capture one.
Nedrick smiles.
"But of course, how silly of me. Please lead the way."
Nedrick turns to TT before heading to Rhaucred and says.
"Be cautious. There is rarely ever just one."
Nedrick will follow 10 feet behind Rhaucred as quietly as possible.
