(Taking his share of the coin) Well now that deck of cards looks interesting. (Addressing Mort) You will make good use of that wizard since you are so fond of running from our enemies (eats all the berries TT provides in one gulp).
As the group advances down the south-east passageway, their nostrils are flooded with the distinct smell of sulfur and smoke. Continuing on they hear the sound of running water. Rounding a corner, they enter into a room with a tree in the middle of it. Behind it is a waterfall flowing into a small pond closest to them.
In the center of the water is a small island with a long staff pointed downwards into a set of antlers attached with a red binding. The antlers are dug into the ground and around them, flowers are growing. Outside of the water there are vents with hot gas and smoke emerging. Despite being deep inside the cave, the room is well lit with a red glow from the vents.
TT takes 20 gold pieces. She looks at the coins in her hand, then at Rhaucred, then at the coins, then at Rhaucred... Turtle grabs the coins and puts them in TT's pocket along with himself! As she walks down the cave path along with her allies, she suddenly cannot help but remember the dragon-man Nelvik. Upon hearing Nedrick's suggestion, TT approaches the hot spring. She starts to remove the equipment and robes from her body, until you can see
TT shapeshifts, enters the water and finds it is much colder than she expected. The water is not very deep, 3 ft at its deepest. She finds a nice spot to mediate in the water and can feel the calming embrace of nature coming from the island nearby. It reminds her of her times spent in her home, by the ocean with the turtles.
Nedrick feels the cool, yet refreshing water over his body. It has been a while since he has washed.
As Mort approaches the staff, he hikes his robe up and crosses the water. He notices that the staff has a seqoiah handle and is magically enchanted. The antlers are white and almost shine with the reflection of the water. This magical staff seems to be crafted in a religious fashion with a connection to Chlorocebus. There are grass and flowers growing around the base of the staff that are magical and not natural.
The spectral hand moves over and touches the staff, lifting it out of the ground. Nothing happens... at first.
The ground begins to rumble under Mort's feet when giant roots begin to emerge from the ground. A loud groan can be heard coming from the tree. It's branches begin to move and swing as it frantically uproots. The tree now lifting itself from the water has left the ground cracked right below it, causing the water to drain from the pools surrounding the island.
A human like face appears on the front of the tree.
With the ground cracking and rumbling around them the party prepares for what appears to be an inevitable conflict.

“sometimes you gotta run to avoid a 1 on 1 meeting with your death god” *hiccup*
Laughing, mort gives hunding a hearty pat on the back
”im sure you know what i mean”
mort takes a long swig from his flask and shuffles the cards dealing them evenly to his companions.
”you may also find the need to run from time to time, im sure this could aid you and your endeavors”
Nedrick collects his share of the coin.
"Well done master Wizard! Let us be off before whomever placed this here returns."
Nedrick will proceed to the south-east.

Nedrick moves forward and stands at the edge of the water but does not get in.
"TT, this appears to be your area of expertise. What do you make of this phenomenon?"
She starts to remove the equipment and robes from her body, until you can see
that she has suddenly taken turtle form.
Entering the water, TT enters a meditative state.

(Holding axe at the ready) This enchanted grotto seems highly out of place. Prepare for a possible trap.

Nedrick upon seeing TT enter the water begins to strip off this clothes and enter the water butt ass naked for a refreshing dip.

mort summons a spectral hand and turns to his companions
*hiccup* “hold on to your butts!”
mort uses the mage hand to pull the staff from the ground

Tree intelligence check for illusion: 9
The tree's branches shake and swing at the sight of Mort's fire illusion. Due to the successful illusion, Mort is able to retreat without being attacked.
The tree flees from its current position to G,9 and heads into the water. With a swing of it's branch, it lifts water up and throws it onto the fire in an attempt to dose it. The water flies right through the fire and the illusion holds.
Nedrick grabs only his rapier from the waters edge and moves up to stick the tree. He looks down at his twig and berries and then to the tree.
"I see I am not the only one around here with a bush."
Nedrick takes a stab at the tree with his rapier aiming for the face.
Attack: 19 Damage: 11
Nedrick(does not provoke AoO) will then use his bonus action to dash to D,7.
