I take it the guy was taken out by Thomas and the attack resolved as normal. If not... looks like Gramps will get an airing. Also, I have 10 temp hp of Armor of Agathys as well as Darkness. Did they roll their attack at disadvantage for that attack of 9hp in R4? I am assuming I did get hit and they take damage in return? If so, they might have dropped before Thomas attacked? Sorry, a little confused.
Aleister will try and ventilate the nearest bothersome piece of scorpion dung (he silently apologizes to any nearby scorpions) with his trusty short sword.

I had forgotten about those spells but your bandit missed anyway. Thomas didn't do enough damage so out with the sword. In reality if you are inside darkness you wouldn't be attacked at all but <<shrug>>. He can't see you so you get advantage with your sword.
