OOC - You said they were facing the entrance? Not looking outwards? If that's true, Thomas will be sneaking a lot closer and trying to see if they react to a thrown rock in the bushes off to one side.
Facing the entrance implies looking in that direction. They look in the direction of the sound but seeing nothing they settle back in to watching. They are INT 3 so don't expect any independent action
