Thomas pauses his Servant and Hand. "So, what do you suggest? The only person who likely could have opened it safely is dismembered."
Ooc - disarm traps can disarm magical ones, yes?

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
OOC: Not sure. Could we use a mage hand to open and set off the runes? Might ruin what's inside,t hough.
"Oh? And here I though he'd be happy to give us a hand," Sarah snickers. "Yeah, it was a little rushed, which I regret, but it's not like we haven't done the same to the PPA."

"Any character can attempt an Intelligence (Arcana) check to detect or disarm a magic trap, in addition to any other checks noted in the trap's description. The DCs are the same regardless of the check used. In addition, dispel magic has a chance of disabling most magic traps. A magic trap's description provides the DC for the ability check made when you use dispel magic."

OOC - Woohoo!
You disable the glyphs and open the chest. Inside is a treatise on how to create spells scrolls plus one cleric scroll of Cure Wounds cast as a 4th level spell.
DM Note: I'm trying to work out what would be a good way of controlling spell scrolls. Otherwise people would create a million of them in their off time. They have the advantage of not taking minutes per level to cast instead they take rounds per level. (Hours and minutes for healing spells) There are still no combat spells.
We can't use money as the game doesn't actually use money that much. Specialised ingredients is an option. I would like to just say "don't abuse it and we'll just use some hand waving"
OOC - Considering you are offering a great advantage by reducing minutes to rounds, you could limit the total number a caster can have active to level times X in spell levels, where X is what ever factor you want to set it to. For example, level 5 times 3 = 15 levels total spells in scrolls.

Or the limit could be the number of spell slots = the number of spell levels on scrolls.
I don't want scrolls to be a replacement for spell slots I want them to be something useful in emergencies - without changing the flavour of the campaign.
I like Thomas' idea but with an adjustment
Levels 1-5 caster level x 1
Levels 6-10 caster level x 2
Levels 11-15 caster level x 3
Level 16+ caster level x 4
Oh and just to terrify you, the big evil cleric here has worked this out so she has scrolls.

Looking through the mess of papers on crafting scrolls, Sarah is very impressed. This... this could change everything. Alas, the lists of 'wants' was always greater than the means but she couldn't wait to try it out. If nothing else, the town could probably kickstart a scroll manufacturing business inscribing low-level utility spells. That could bring in a pretty penny trading with allied communities.
"We done here?" Sarah asks. "I take it we're headed eastward still to continue our sweep?"

Aleister will study the box; is it wooden, banded in metal? Can he recognize the glyph?

Is the glyph drawn on the chest? Embedded or carved into it?
