Thomas volunteers to invisibly guard the prisoner , as well. "Getting rid of him might be their game plan, for sure. If we do this, however, we need to inform the MacKenzie so they know we are around. "

They would have trouble disavowing him as he is a well known senior lieutenant of Conrad Renfrew, commander of the PPA military. That he would do anything without orders is not an easy sell (also magic). The plan is that he will be presented to the meeting tomorrow and questioned under Zone of Truth.
The Rangers hold him not the MacKenzies. Astrid knows you from previous adventures and is happy to have any help. He will be kept at the Ranger's Guild House in Corvallis until morning then transported to the meeting.
This is an existing building they have taken over.
OOC: Far as i know it, the most strategic place to hold him would be the ‘utility’ room. It’s the furthest room from the entrance or the lift. This means we have more time to prepare and gives us places where we could ambush them.
Blaize casts ‘mold earth’ and makes the area near the target difficult terrain. He also sets up 3 ‘cordon of arrows’ (12 magical ammunition) scattered around the place only activating when sensing the PPA (excluding the prisoner).
Fire bolt- Shoot a streaking ball of fire towards a foe and deal a measly 1d10 fire damage. Use eldritch blast instead.
Fireball - Drawing magic from your inner reserves, you unleash a devastating nuke that explodes in a circle, hitting multiple enemies, and burning them to a crisp with a godly amount of 8d6 fire damage. Make your DM’s fights look like garbage. It’s also a nice way of TPK your entire party and have them triggered at you for the rest of the week.
Sarah has Hedwig patrol outside, keeping watch over the balcony. Sarah herself is going to sit herself down under Greater Invisbility, Armor of Agathys and Prestidigitation, in the kitchen.

Thomas will add to the guard forces outside, remaining invisible (permanent Greater Invis) and on the roof top while he guards, crossbow ready. As an added defense, he puts down 2 Alarms around the perimeter, set to trigger if any noises are heard nearby (at ground level) without a visible source, or any group of more than 3 people approach the building sides near the holding cell. An added Alarm will be set for detecting underground vibrations of unusual strength. All these Alarms will be silent and set to different pings for each of them, so he can tell which one was triggered. As an added 'gotcha!' he will embed a Glyph of Warding on the wall of the utility room interior, set to trigger if someone says "Teleport the prisoner." The embedded spell is Polymorph and targeted on the prisoner specifically, and will turn him into a snail for an hour. The head of the Rangers, and all our group know the trigger.

Forgot to mention this but Blaize will cast ‘snare’ in the entrances of the two balconies, and the entrance of the kitchen.
Blaize will also cast ‘Pass without Trace’ on him self and others if they are nearby and hide near the lifts. He will retreat back to the lifts and recast ‘Pass without Trace’ if it ends.

With mold earth you need stone or dirt. The floors in the house are wooden.

“In all the excitement it is easy to forget that they are using hang gliders,” Aleister says in a droll tone. “We ought to fix up some anti-glider stakes, or something.” He will see if anywhere in town has some barbed wire.

You have made your preparations. Please roll initiative, perception and state which room you are in - or where you are outside. Are you all spending the night awake? Please remember that after 24 hours (at dawn) without sleep you are exhausted. Plus 1 level for every 12 hours after that.

It only effects a 5' square per casting. It would take about 1 1/2 hours to do a 5' strip around the house

Ok i don’t do that
Blaize would be in the lift area, taking a couple of dozes every now and then. (Cannot be surprised)
Blinky would be outside the building, waiting for Blaize’s command.
