"I am Rigorath emissary of my master Mephistopheles. I offer you knowledge and power in return for your assistance To fulfill your end of the bargain, you must dam the flow of the River Styx where it spills into a nearby slime-filled chasm called the Pit of Shummrath.
Tibi recoils from the image of himself and reaches and takes his hat off and examines it to make sure that it is not torn and encrusted with rime with a tattered and torn feather before turning to the others "I'm no engineer - far from it! Personally I think such a task is all but impossible but what do you think, is it worth at least going and having a look at what damming the river will involve?"
“Right that’s a majority.” Tibi makes sure his hat is on strait, mimes putting on a pair of sun glasses turns to Drabash and says Hit it DDrabash - we’re on a mission from ...” Tibi is not stupid enough to mention the ‘G’ word.
Rigorath pours the hot water on his face and after it thaws he responds. "I will provide the equipment to aid you in damning the river. So what secret knowledge to you wish to know?"
"Well," says Drabash to his companions, "I guess we have two choices. Either we ask him about how to free the demon from those stones, or we ask directly about how to find and get into the Bleeding citadel. Can that demon be trusted to keep his word? Which is it to be?"

"I vote for the greater objective, in case our other source proves less than reliable...Besides, it seems all we get is partial truth and more work down here." Kaelani replies.
Again thawing his face Rigorath grins. "The Bleeding Citadel? So be it. Do this thing and it will be revealed to you. As for that fool Ubbalux, you can tell him he must swear fealty to Mephistopheles to escape the standing stones. do we have a deal?"
Rigorath etches the terms onto the surface of the mirror. The words form into chunks of ice on the group’s side. "Chisel the ice with the words off, melt, and then drink to seal the bargain."
He then crafts an imp out of snow, which hops through the mirror to join you. It carries a sling bag. It hisses as it speaks "I have five shattersticks that can be used to demolish the riverbank. Hurry up and drink that water so we can get going. No time like the present to get the job done."
Kaelani grumbles, "I'm beginning to really grow tired of these deals and the tasks we have to perform here. Let's get this over with..." He chisels some of the ice off the mirror and pops the melting ice into his mouth.

It is at this point that you realize that Darvin seems to have wandered away. You aren't exactly sure when he left or why but he appears to be gone. You shout a few times to try and get his attention but he doesn't answer, he has just vanished.
Unable to find him you look around a bit but all trace of him is gone. The imp that is joining you begins to spits shards of ice in annoyance. "C'mon, c'mon!" it cries. "Let's get a moving. Daylight is wasting, time is money, we're racing against the clock here. It’s going to be noon before I even know it. Let's get cracking!"
Unsure where else to look or what else to do and being rushed by the imp you decide the greater mission is of greater importance. You climb back into the demolisher and head back towards the Pit of Shummrath.
"Head towards the narrowest point of the Styx’s tributary river" The imp directs.
Drabash is a little concerned that Darvin has gone missing, and determines to be doubly attentive to his surroundings. "Hang on Tibi," he calls out, "we are heading out." and once Tibi is hanging on to the demolisher" Drabash increases speed and heads across the plain as directed.

The imp leads you to the narrowest point of the Styx’s tributary river and sets about hammering its five shattersticks into the rocky ravine walls. The imp asks you to stand guard while it works. As the imp places the shattersticks, a large creature begins to climb out of the pit.
The large construct appears to be a particularly big flesh golem made of stitched-together body parts from devils, demons, yugoloths, and other fiends.
It is about 60 feet away as it makes its way up out of the pit and lumbers towards you.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
