Drubash heads over to Gil and spotting his stuff sighs in relief. He slows collects his things, checking them as he goes. With what looks like years of practice, Drubash puts on his armor and straps on his weapons in little time. When he is ready he heads back to the group and seeing Tibi struggle with his friends remains, he speaks up, "maybe we should put him in one of these tombs and collect him later. We dont want to be carrying him around whilst we deal with these guys. Alternatively we could make a quick pyre right not but that may attract a but of attention.." he trails off.
"We could definitally put his remains in sarcophagus where we found your gear." Gilbert would replay looking once again into the stone tomb.. giving a nod as he determines the carred corpse would fit.
Checking the last room you find another empty sarcophagus and nothing of value.
The door at the end of the hallway is quiet and pushing through it you are in an empty room. A door to the north is also quiet and you push on. You soon find 3 separate hallways that lead to sleeping quarters that you assume cult members would occupy.
The right room has our flickering torches in wall sconces illuminate this crypt, the middle of which is occupied by an open stone sarcophagus. The sarcophagus bears no carvings or other ornamentation, but is full of humanoid skulls and bones. Six dusty bedrolls lie on the floor around it.
The middle room is lit by two sputtering torches in sconces on the north and west walls. A stone sarcophagus in the middle of the room stands empty, its lid half buried under rubble on the floor behind it.
The left room has four flickering torches in wall sconces light this partially collapsed crypt. An open sarcophagus in the middle of the area is filled to the rim with blood, with spillage streaking the sides of the sarcophagus and pooling around its base. The sarcophagus lid lies half buried under rubble behind it.
A frail old woman cowers in the corner of this last room.
Drubash holds his fist up, signalling the group to stop seeing the old women. He then whispers back, "these dead guys are very tricky. Let's be careful here, we don't know who that could be."
He then draws his second axe and tiptoes forward, scanning the room for any kind of surprise.
Perception: 11
If he gets close to the women with out anything jumping at him, hell quietly call for her attention.
Drubash looks around the room and sees nothing that might surprise him. As he approaches the old woman she looks up at him,
"Help me please." She whispers, "My name Nebra. I was a florist in the lower city but was captured by some cultists and brought down here to serve them as a slave."
"HMMM...." Gilbert would say cautiously. "She doesn't LOOK like a trap" he would add as he makes his way towards the woman. "How long have you been down here? How many cultists are here with you? We killed two ove them already.. a mean lady and a guy with a helmet." Gil would add with a smile.
“Here we go again. One day that little one might learn there are more bad guys in the world than good and you shouldn’t walk up so trustingly!” Tibi says as he gets ready Rapiers out in case he needs to respond again.
"There are several more that live down here and many more that come and go. They make me keep things tidy down here and serve food. If you help me I can show you a secret door to where the leaders are." She answers.
Drubash turns back to the group, and in a hushed voice, "I think if she can help us find the secret entrances its worth a chance, unless you guys are good with finding that kind of thing."
If the group agrees, he will head back to the woman, "We'll help you, where is the entrance?"
Darvin doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary and the woman appears to be who she says she is.
She gets up and slowly walks past you into the hallway and opens a hidden door that leads to a wider passage.
This ten-foot-wide flooded passage is braced at regular intervals by wooden beams. Old torch stubs float on the murky water. An ope door on the right leads to a flooded room that was once a cellar, with the collapsed eastern passage marking a staircase that likely led up to a residence in the city.
At the point where the tunnel bends west toward the characters hear echoes of a battle unfolding in that location.
The sounds of combat intensify as you come around the corner.
Beyond the hall, a flooded chamber opens up with rough-hewn steps climbing to the south, north, and northeast. The floor buckles up above the water line in the middle of the room, forming a small island. Corpses and doused torches float in the water around the island, atop which two men circle each other with weapons bared. One of the men — a tall, unarmored brute with a greatclub and a scarred face — towers above his opponent but is gravely wounded. The smaller figure is muscular and bare-chested. He clutches a bloody dagger in one hand and a torch in the other, and has no flesh covering his skull.
"What... what is happening?!" Gil would shout. "Break it up you guys!" The verdan would take a few step backwards however at the sight of the figure with no face..
As Gilbert calls to the men to break up the fight the smaller figure with the bare skull turns and moves away to the north and disappears out of sight.
The taller bigger man watches him leave and almost goes to follow when he looks to you.
"I am Mortlock, son of Duke Thalamra Vanthampur. I was betrayed. These assassins conspired with my brothers to kill me. If you hadn't come along I'd be dead. I owe you my life. "
"Where did his face go? Did he have a face before you started fighting?" Gil would ask... nearly as curious as he was scared... He would slowly try to move towards the tall figure if Drubash would allow.

"There are several more that live down here and many more that come and go. They make me keep things tidy down here and serve food. If you help me I can show you a secret door to where the leaders are." She answers.
"We can help... right guys?" Gil would ask looking to his companions.
Darvin watches silently as Gil carries on the conversation, trying to figure out whether the woman is hiding anything.

Apologies I have been afk for the last few days. I have a new job and setting into a new rhythm. Will aim to be all caught up by tonight.
If he can, Drubash will grab the small verdan, saying. "Careful, that doesn't look like a fight you want to get in the middle of."

Does Darvin know anything about Duke Vanthampur or the Vanthampur house(?) generally, maybe related to his Oathoon connection?
