"First a contract sending me to Hell and now a talking otter with a tiny flying golden elephant pet. I think it's safe to say this is one of the more unusual days I've had..." Darvin muses.
"You, ah... I suppose you'd be Traxigor?" he says to the otter. "Forgive me for my surprise... Sylvira seems to have failed to mention that you were... ah... not of the humanoid persuasion. I mean, not that that's the most important aspect of your identity I'm sure... uh..." he adds, uncharacteristically flustered.
"Anyway, I suppose she told you we were coming and why?"
Gil would grin at the sight if the flying creatures. "I have always wanted ride on one of these!" The verdan would exclaim. "They are very majestic don't you think?" He would ask aloud ad he prepares to mount one.
The small otter begins to laugh. "Yes, indeed I am Traxigor. I was polymorphed into an otter years ago and decided I preferred the new form to my original one, that of a wizened old man. I made this otter form permanent by a wish spell." He continues looking around the room for something. "I seem to have misplaced the tuning fork needed for the spell to transport you to Avernus. Yes, Sylvira told me your were coming and why. Can you help me find?"
Anyone who wishes to help him look roll a Perception check please
Lulu flies over to Tibi. You recall reading something of her kind during your research at Candlekeep ans see that she is a hollyphant. A hollyphant looks like a miniature elephant with luminous gold fur and small, rapidly fluttering wings that not only hold it aloft but also propel it at great speed.
“I was with the angel Zariel when she assembled her army of Hellriders to attack Avernus. Through the gate we went, tearing through devils like a song through air. Victory was within our grasp until some of the Hellriders betrayed us. They retreated through the gate and sealed it behind them.
“Before she was captured, Zariel told me to hide her sword so that it wouldn’t fall into evil hands. Someone helped me hide the sword, but I don’t remember who. We found a place to hide it, but I don’t remember where. I escaped Avernus, but I don’t remember how. Most of my memory is gone, and I don’t remember why.”
"Well so we are missing a tuning fork and a sword eh? Fortunately we at Acquisitions Incorporated specialise in finding things!" Tibi laughs as he looks for said errant fork (Perception = 13) When the fork is found - with or without his help he continues "now we just need to get to Avernus and find this sword?" Looking at Lulu he says "this sword do you know what it looked like and do you remember if you hid it as is or was its appearance changed before you hid it. Can you also describe who, or what it was, that helped you hide the sword?"
Gilbert shuffles some random papers and finds a tuning fork. When he holds it up the otter bounds over and takes it from him. "Indeed this is it!" and with a bow thanks you. Darvin holds up a petrified mouse he found on a shelf. Traxigor looks over and nods "You can keep that if you want, not really sure why I did."
Gesturing to you all he has you gather in a circle. As you stand together in a circle, Traxigor taps the tuning fork on the floor and casts his plane shift spell.
A hot, stinging air assaults your senses. The city street in which you stand is lined with buildings that are crumbling, if not already collapsed. The ground shudders beneath your feet. In the red, smoky sky, a 400-foot-diamater sphere of darkness discharges strokes of bluish-white lightning that strike the city at irregular intervals. Perched atop a distant bluff, overlooking the rest of the city, is a crumbled fortress.
Traxigor gazes up at the black orb nervously, utters a few arcane syllables, and disappears in the blink of an eye.
Congratulations! You are now level 6! Let me know when you are ready to proceed.
Looking at Lulu he says "this sword do you know what it looked like and do you remember if you hid it as is or was its appearance changed before you hid it. Can you also describe who, or what it was, that helped you hide the sword?"
Did/was Lulu able to provide any more information on the sword?
Subject to any answer that might be forthcoming Tibi looks at the crumbled fortress off in the distance "you know that looks like where somebody might have made a last stand - what say we head towards it?"

Lulu hadn't answered before, but now that she was back in Avernus, she looks around. She suddenly recalls her efforts with the sword and tells you what she can remember. "I recognize that the surroundings feel familiar, albeit in a terrible way. Zariel’s most loyal Hellrider, Yael, took the sword and plunged it into a rock. I called on every ounce of goodness in my heart to raise a shield around it — a fortress against evil. This is not that place.”
Reya Mantlemorn, meanwhile, falls to her knees and you hear her weeping. "I am disheartened by what I sees around me, Elturel in shambles." She stands up and wipes the tears from her face. "We must save to try to save my city from destruction. I can lead you to the High Hall cathedral. Hopefully we can find someone in charge."
The city streets you now stand in are indeed what remains of Elturel!
Tibi gives Reya a hug "we will do our utmost to help you in this matter so please lead us to the High Hall cathedral. It is however possible that whoever is in in charge may not be a good guy so we will need to keeo our weapons sharp and our wits about us." He turns and glares at Gil' "and that means no touching!"
"How can we collect and catalog items without touching them" Gil would reply with a small eyeroll. "We cannot be Aquisitions Inc without Acquiring things.. and that means touching them." The verdan would say very matter of a fact.

Tibi gives a slow clap "very droll my friend. Don't get me wrong I have no problems with acquiring things - not at all. It's just your approach is to acquire first, think about whether said acquisition was a good idea later!"
Reya leads the way and you move up one of the streets. Debris litters the street and partially collapsed buildings are everywhere. The city seems to have suffered quite a bit of damage from its Descent into Avernus. A few streets later and ahead of you, coming around the corner of a still-standing structure, runs a woman with two toddlers, one on each arm. In her wake ambles an monster with a glaive and snakelike beard just like the one you killed in Vanthampur's basement . The fiend is laughing darkly.
Ooc: I wish I wasnt so terrible remembering the names of NPC's I wish I had pictures lol.
Seeing the creature chasing the woman, Gil would quickly reach I to his pocket and pull out a wand. "Hey! Leave her alone!" The Verdan would shout as he prepared to cast a spell

Tibi furls his wings as he looks at the flying elephant in surprise "I've seen many flying creatures but not one such as you!"
