"Could be wolves," Moss says.

"Could be dogs," she adds a moment later.

Another few seconds and she gives a casual shrug, "Could be a dragon. Who's to say?"

"Should we return to the group? Or we could go have a look-see?"

"If we go, chances are this will evolve into more than just a recon mission if things go bad." Nobody whispers to her without really turning from the cave. After giving things some thought for a few more seconds, he sighs and shakes his head. "Whether its a dragon -- which I doubt, would've felt it in my scales -- or canine, knowing at least they have less mindful guard on hand is good enough for now... I guess. Let's--" He sighs and shakes his head. "Get back, and get going to town." 

Hazel squirms in place where he hides outside the cave entrance with the others while Moss & Nobody go up to investigate the strange sound, electricity tingling all over his body.

“I want to go in...” he whispers up to no one in particular, needing the grass with his tiny plump hands. 

In a low voice Mal says: Who here has the power to create light? That cave looks very dark and I'm concerned that Leona and......I would not be much help in the dark. Or shall I get the torches ready?

"I can alter a pre-existing's flame nature to some extent. But creating light using magic has never been a priority for me." Nobody replies quietly before gesturing to his eyes; black voids that appeared to drink in all light to touch them. "But you would be correct. Aside from cooking, Goblins do not have much need for anything that produces light. And if the rest of you are keen to enter still, I'm all for it. I know some at least had reservation or even getting this far." At that, the wagging tail slows as the tiefling glances over to Moss. 

Kai raises her hand quietly and looks to Mal. "I... Can create light. It's something I learn at a very young age. I've never been fond of the dark. Especially with already having sight problems." She looks down in thought before back up again. "Although I do not think hiding my light will be the easiest task. But if that's fine with the group..." She'll look around quietly with a hesitant smile.

"I can produce flame," Moss adds. "If that is what's needed."

Mal quietly addresses the group.

I can try to see what's further in. Sadly, I am only human. If we use light then the element of surprise will be gone.

But as a group, we must decide if we will be entering. This is likely where our assailant has fled and he most probably is in there now. With his ilk and apparently some wild beasts. This is not a time for half-hearted decisions. 

Stealing a glance at Leona, Mal continues to speak softly.

They will not hesitate to kill us. They will not hesitate to gang up on us. They have no code and no honour. And they will want revenge.

Kai looks between the group before at Mal. "I am with whatever the rest of the group wants to do. However, if we go in as a group, the element of surprise will be lost anyway due to Leona and I's armor. At that point, it would be better to be able to see for the whole group." She looks around the rest of the group, hoping her explanation makes sense before she quietly looks away to the cave. 

As the others decide what action to take, Mal keeps an eye on the cave mouth. 

Mal silently thinks - We don't know how many goblins there are in that cave. We don't even know how big the cave is and what we could possibly find within. If we do push through, we will need to be able to think fast. We are entering  their territory.

While the goblins may know we are coming, I think our advantage is we are an interesting mix which will surprise them. Even I don't know how we will fare.

"Well, yes. We would be invading their home, after all." Nobody says matter of factly. "Not to mention killed their fellows... Oh, you meant that in caution. Sorry. Carry on." He grins, or tries to; only for it subside quickly in the tension. "

"If... If we can at least avoid attracting attention at first. Maybe capture one to talk to? Even if the one doesn't happen to understand common, I know their tongue well enough." He shakes his head. "But by the sounds of things, we will be upfront about it to some extent... Very well. Though if you are fine with it, Lady Moss, perhaps you should be close to the lead. That way whatever beast might guard the entrance might yet be convinced to show restraint before springing into action. Perhaps even to join us."

The suggestion given, Nobody pulls out a dagger to signal his readiness to enter. He keeps to the middle/towards the back of the group. As much as he trusted the fast fading spell to rebuff any initial harm, the tiefling placed far greater trust in the armor of others.

Kai, now silent and avoiding the eyes of others, moves slowly to the middle of the preparing line of travel,  trusting that her armor will protect her generally as well as her divine spells, but allowing those more combat focused ahead of her. She draws her handaxe and spins it quietly in her hand, pushing her glasses up with her free hand. 

(Little worried that the dm only put a dice roll for an update. Either we're doing good or we're about to get goblin ambushed. XD)

OOC: Question for the DM -- While waiting for Ostran and Leona to post, in the event we proceed into the cave, will Ostran and Leona be joining us and be controlled by you or will they be left outside? 

“I am happy to be close to the lead when we enter if that is the decision,” Moss agrees. She’s curious about the animal she heard and wants to know more.

Kai studies Moss silently for a second before looking to the others. "Is that a majority vote to proceed with caution?" If the group agrees, she will extinguish any of her light for now and grip her hand axe silently.

If None objectsby tomorrow, i will move you towards the cave.

Moss and Leona leading, followed by Hazel, Kai and Mal, Nobody and Ostran at the end.
