Niossae responds to Gregor, "Indeed, I would be best utilized in the back. I can engage foes in the front with my bow, or I can engage foes that strike from the rear with my unarmed training."
The tracks show while there are many, none of them are near a medium size. In fact, they're all mostly like a small sized creature. And gathering from the way the tracks are, they move in packs of sort. Like in small hunting parties or scouts, but lack the intelligence to hide their own tracks.
"the board said we need to capture one certain kobold alive for questioning, I believe" trogon goes on to look at the tracks.
"Is there any way to tell how old these tracks are?" Trogon whispers
"so we may know how far away we are from them? I would like to get close to them so I can charm our target. That takes care of one extra attacker and makes it easier to tie him up once we are done with the rest."
He found his idea quite good. Trogon only hadn't figured out how to get up to 30ft of the target and how to recognize. Otherwise the plan was brilliant he thought.

Gregor lets out a heavy sigh and taps the top of his mask.
"That was the day before. The kobold thing. And as I mentioned before we left--"
Trogon and Trenet could swear he felt a glare in his direction before Gregor turned to the others.
"It seemed to have been taken down. Either because someone found the target, or the employer recanted on it."
He shrugs helplessly, then taps the bottom of his mask.
"In any case, unless one of us are particularly skilled in survival training, I'll doubt we'll figure the age of them. And, on the off hand these /are/ kobold tracks, we'll want to be careful, and not be on the direct path of them going forward in case of a trap. Agreed?"
After asking as much of the collective he motions for the group on, but on a parallel path to the tracks as much as possible.
"Barring a trap, or a.. basilisk, perhaps, I can think of other that might make such paths."
He comments on at some point.

Trogon focusses on the coming encounter again. Tren and Gregor seem to have a quite good idea of what is coming and how to handle it. He just wants to be ready and show his worth. But what was this basilisk Gregor was talking about? He never heard of a thing like that.

"My spells are not very offensive but I will try my best to stay back. I agree Gregor would be a great leader." She nods in agreement. "I have some oil flasks from my lantern, would that work?" Lyon goes silent as the others begin to track again. She does her best to keep up and stay out of the way as she follows.
Ooc: regardless of our rolls in our heads the check is always the best we did or at least we tried our best. It would be more realistic if we didn't know our rolls in the first place so it's up to the DM to determine whether a 6 is good enough or even a 20 does not get the answers we want.

(Ah, the kobold one is still up. Most bounties will stay up until another group gets the target. And yes, I'll allow using oil flasks as improvised ammunition. And as I said before, tracks will describe the type of monster but until you have actually seen the monster, it is undecipherable on what it is. Following tracks can lead to an encounter or a den, ultimately how you follow the tracks.)
Niossae sees the party hesitating and suggests, "There are bounties for just about everything we could capture in these woods. Let's follow these tracks and learn what makes them. If it is not worth anything, we can double back and search elsewhere."
(To Virst: Okay, because I no longer saw it on the bounty board. Figured you updated it recently since noone got to it in time.)
"Those will do fine. Conserve them for the Troll, however."
Gregor turns from Lyon to Niosse, looks about ready to say something judging by a questioning raised finger, then lowers it, appearing to think better of it. /Once more/, he motions for the group to carry on at least parallel to the track. Along the way he offers Trenet two of his flask of oils and a sling, but wouldn't press him it on him.

Trogon whispers to go on so not to loose the tracks. He looks at the tracks one more time to recognize them for future encounters. If only he had a bit more experience in matters like this... Then again that was why he joined. Experience and to find a druid who could teach him a thing or two..
