As the enemy forces charge toward their position, Kurama closes his eyes and focuses. Blocking out everything around him, he searches within himself for the mysterious energy trapped within him; knowing that though he still does not have full control over it he will need all the strength he can muster if he's to survive the night and get the answers he seeks. Finding and tapping into that power, Kurama feels his body flood with wild energy as it mixes and combines with his natural Ki. Eyes flaring open - his normally brown eyes tinted a dark red - he moves forward slowly as two amorphous appendages of seemingly raw energy sprout from his back and wildly attempts to strike the nearest enemy!
Attack: Attack: 9 Damage: 5
Bonus Attack: Attack: 16 Damage: 6
(OOC: 2 Ki points to activate Arms of Astral Self subclass ability)
Kurama struggles to control his power, and the appendages lash out but miss their target. Burik glances once toward Namar, but decides helping Brask is a bigger priority at this point. He charges forward, and the half-orc takes a swing at him as he passes by. Attack: 17 Damage: 5
Burik rushes into the mix, casting Spiritual Weapon as he does. He focuses on the already injured half-orc, swinging down his hammer.
Attack: 20 Damage: 4
The spiritual weapon follows...
Attack: 15 Damage: 10
It cuts the half-orc down, and his body crumples to the ground. The force continues through, smashing into a bugbear and drawing blood.
You all hear shouting from the northern rooftop, but you don't have time to glance over. Things have become serious very quickly. The faint sound of bows firing comes from the south. You can only hope they're finding their targets. Brask, you're up. Immediately surrounding you are two bugbears and two half-orcs. Only one bugbear has been hit so far.
The first swing of his maul smashes into the bugbear's chest. As it coughs up blood and bends over in pain, the second swing whiffs over its head. Injured, but still alive, it spits onto the ground at Brask's feet.
Two half-orcs turn their attention to the dwarf, swinging down on him with their axes.
Attack: 18 Damage: 6
Attack: 24 Damage: 5
From the north, Effort and Pip can hear even more commotion than there already was. Glancing in that direction, you can see the first half-orcs have reached the top of the building's ladder. Pip has another arrow notched by now. He turns, firing it at the first gang member that steps onto the roof.
"You need to die," she growls under her breath. Noticing the half-orcs making their way onto the other roof, she moves away from the ladders, still keeping Namar in her sights.
(Wow.. 3 1's and with advantage a 2 and two 1's... dice roller doesn't have any love today)
Namar, surprisingly nimble for such a hulking figure, dodges Effort's blast and continues running toward the back of the building. Effort, as you track him, you see he's heading for the ladder. He'll be on the roof with you in a few moments.
If Kurama hadn't moved, he's about 30 feet from Namar, and 30 feet (in the opposite direction) from the group that Brask and Burik are fighting against. He would have certainly seen him.

(Gotcha thanks!)
While the scrum on the streets continues on fiercely, Kurama notices one of the Orcs avoid Brask, Burik & himself to go straight for the mostly unaware archers on the roof. That seems dangerous, he thinks to himself as he begins to weave through the battlefield to chase after him. When he gets close enough, he attempts to use his summoned appendages again to grab the Orc and restrain him from moving, hoping that he has a little more control this time around.
Athletics check: 8
(OOC: the subclass ability allows me to use my WIS score in place of STR for checks and saves)
Namar's strength check (with disadvantage thanks to Effort's hex): 19
The appendages do wrap around the half-orc, but they slowly pass through him as he pushes through. He glances back in your direction with a grin as if to say "Nice try, chump."
Burik is hurting, and closes his eyes briefly to cast Cure Wounds on himself, regaining 5
The tieflings start to gather, firing their final arrows at the half-orcs climbing up the ladder and then dropping their bows and pulling out shortswords. To the south, Akrus and two other tieflings fire their arrows straight down at the gathering half-orcs ready to climb the ladder to that building.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Brask connects with the bugbear's head this time, finishing the job for good. The force of the swing carries into one of the half-orcs as well, cracking his jaw. The second bugbear screams out in anger. (OOC: At this point Namar is 60+ feet away at the back corner of the building, so he probably missed your cocky grin.)
The remaining half-orc on the ground swings down on Burik again:
Attack: 21 Damage: 15
On the north building, Effort can hear blades scraping against one another as the tieflings and half-orcs face off. It looks as though one of the rival gang never made it up, but now even at 3 on 2, Freedom and the two tieflings seem overpowered. Looking south, two half-orcs spill onto the roof, axes in hand and start hacking at Akrus and the other two tieflings. One half-orc lies at the top of the ladder, filled with arrows and slumped over the edge.
Cadmael once again dives by Namar to give Effort advantage on her single-minded attempt to cause the orc some real harm. Effort will wait until Namar is in the process of climbing to fire her next blast at him, hoping to knock him off balance, and off of the ladder. (OOC: she doesn't have repelling blast, so that's just wishful thinking or a crit I suppose, haha...)
Attack: 16 Damage: 11 force + 5 necrotic
Afterwards, she'll move as far away from Namar as she can, in the hopes that he won't be able to reach her without expending all of his energy to run.
Climbing up the ladder, Namar is buzzed by Cadmael. He looks up just in time to swing to the side and avoid Effort's blast, though it seems to slow him a bit as he regains his composure on the ladder. He reaches the top of the ladder as surveys the rooftop. Pulling a javelin from its holster on his back, he trains it on Cadmael and throws it at the familiar...
Attack: 15 Damage: 9
As the javelin pierces the owl, Cadmael vanishes in a small burst of silvery mist. The javelin sails through the air and disappears a hundred yards away.
"Where are you going?" He calls out to you, giving chase and gaining quickly. "Not so confident without that pesky bird around?"
Kurama, you're up. There are two half-orcs and a bugbear still on the ground with you, attacking Brask and Burik.
Kurama was conflicted. While he was worried about the Orc who had gotten away, there were still a bunch of enemies right in front of him that needed to be handled - not to mention whatever was happening with the other groups. Deciding to quickly deal with the enemies in front of him first, he'll move towards the nearest one and try once again to use his strange powers
The tieflings continue to battle back against the half-orcs. Despite having more numbers on the rooftops, they're barely holding their own. Akrus gets an impressive strike on one of the half-orcs, though, injuring him greatly.
Brask, you're up! One half-orc and one bugbear (uninjured) remain in the fight at street level.
