Brask, you swing your maul and connect with the ghoul attacking Thurnar. You knock it clean off the dwarf, sending it flying backward to the tunnel floor as you hear its insides shatter. Somehow, though, it slowly turns over and starts to stand up again...
Noticing how the spirit guardians seemed to be able to permanently disable the ghouls, Effort runs up next to Thurnar, in the hopes of making themselves a more attractive target to the rest of the remaining ghouls while the spectral dwarves are still around. She sends an eldritch blast to one of the ghouls near Burik.
Do you attack the ghoul on your side of Burik, which already has some cuts and chunks of flesh taken out of it? Or the ghoul on the opposite side, which looks...healthier, for lack of a better term?
The blast connects, knocking the heartier looking ghoul back against the tunnel wall. Pieces of organ fall out of the cavity the arcane blast tore open, but it pushes itself back off the wall and starts charging forward again...
Burik, you're up. You still need to roll a DC10 CON save. If you succeed, take your turn as normal. There are two ghouls attacking you and one attacking Thurnar.
If you fail, you become paralyzed and you may roll another CON save at the end of your turn.
Thurnar swings his warhammer around at the ghoul attacking him. Attack:14 Damage: 8The cleric still seems weak from the power he just released, missing the ghoul.
He focuses up, though, seeing that Burik is being double-teamed by ghouls. He rushes over and casts Shield of Faith on his dwarven ally, taking an attack of opportunity. Attack: 7 Damage: 8
The ghoul bites down on Thurnar's neck and shoulder, ripping a chunk of flesh out of it. "ARGH. Damn ye!" He grabs the wound to slow the bleeding as the ghoul attacks again, this time swinging its claws down. Attack: 13 Damage: 6
Thurnar CON save: 4 Thurnar shakes off the claw scratches, but is looking noticeably worn out at this point. His head starts to hang a bit lower as he nurses his wounds.
The remaining two ghouls continue to go after Burik, one biting and one clawing...
Bite Attack: 8 Damage: 10
Claw Attack: 17 Damage: 6
Burik, roll another DC10 CON save. (I can't believe that hit with disadvantage and shield of faith...)
Brask decapitates the first ghoul he swings at. The head goes sailing down the tunnel, bouncing twenty or so feet away. The body hangs motionless for a moment before collapsing. As the two other ghouls close in on Burik and Thurnar, Brask sends his maul down on another of their heads. This time it's simply obliterated, and bits of skull go flying every which way.
It would just be advantage on the first attack...although it didn't matter much! Effort, you're up. One ghoul remains.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The blast hits the final ghoul in the back, ripping a hole through it the force of the energy sends it flying against the tunnel wall. It rolls down to the floor, finally dead. A curl of smoke rises out of the grisly hole left in its body.
"Son of a *****!" Thurnar casts Cure Wounds on himself, putting a hand over the wound on his neck and shoulder. He regains 13HP
He stretches his arm over his neck and turns his head to the side, testing the healed wound and his mobility. He seems satisfied with the result. Surveying the carnage, Thurnar then looks up at you all. "Everyone okay? I can heal you all a bit if you think you need it."
Cadmael emerges from the darkness, landing gently on Effort's shoulder. Thurnar turns to survey the rip in reality. It's not pulsing like it was before, but the distorted waves seem longer, as if the gateway has grown in some way. "Burik, we need to try and...close this. Or do something. C'mon." He holds his hammer out, the green gem glistening in the little light that exists in this deep tunnel. With his eyes closed, he begins chanting something in dwarvish.
Burik drops his shield and hammer. Blood can be seen dripping down his armour.
Unlike Thurnar, he doesn't chant or mutter anything. Instead he just stares straight ahead as pure darkness flows from his eyes, his hands, and the amulet around his neck. The darkness envelops him, hiding him from view.
Then suddenly the same places that started creating the darkness shine a silver light, expelling the darkness towards the strange, shimmering magic doorway in an effort to seal it. (Burik is using what remains of his magic to do this. (2x level 1 slots))
Then as the light fades, he collapses to his knees, then onto his side, the blood still slowly flowing from his many wounds.
Brask draws a deep breath, and walks over to Effort. He raises his hand tentatively and awkwardly, and attempts to stroke Cadmael very gently, as much as he can.
Cadmael deigns to let Brask pet his head, ruffling his feathers almost as if proud of himself. Furry one appreciates my greatness, he tells Effort, who stifles her laugh.
"I am fine," Effort answers Thurnar when he asks after her health. "I'm much more concerned about whatever Burik just did right now." She settles next to Burik, helping him rest. "What sort of priestly order consumes its supplicants with darkness? Perhaps you should heal your fellow clergyman's wounds, before he falls unconscious." To Burik, she says, "Do you think you can move yet?"
To Brask, she says, "You and I are perhaps the only ones fit to continue further in the moment, and my magic is near-spent. Do you think it is even possible to find some place safe enough to make a camp and tend to our wounds?"

I'll aim at the one that hasn't taken a turn yet. If they both haven't taken a turn yet, get the healthy one.

(They don't have disadvantage anymore, the protection spell was concentration...)
Con save: 15
Cadmael will assist Brask again, then fly out of range until further notice ;)
Ah, thanks for catching that.
Burik shakes off the paralysis this time, perhaps emboldened by the Shield of Faith.
Brask, you're up.

Brask smashes his maul at the ghoul that has been attacking Thurnar:
Attack: 22 Damage: 9
And uses his action surge for another attack:
Attack: 10 Damage: 6
(I think this one doesn't have advantage, but the other attack roll is 23 if it does.)
STAY.
DOWN.

No. But, we got no choice. Brask looks over his wounds - not too bad - the others, who look a lot worse. Hey, Burik. This place safe? We gotta rest.
