Yup, winter clothes 4gp each. I tend to stick with standard pricing unless I feel like it's a little too expensive or you allllmost have enough money. :)
Kurama, roll a history or investigation check to see what you might have found in the library.
Kurama, you find yourself mid-day at a table in the middle of the library. There are towers of books all around you, and you take them one-by-one, scanning for anything interesting or useful. After a few hours you begin to feel it is an exercise in futility. The books reveal nothing but dry history and long passages telling you who was related to who, how many children they had, and how many hectares their estate was. You finally leave to rejoin the others.
Though disappointed in not finding any useful information in the library, Kurama remains chipper as he returns to rejoin the others knowing that there's a still a useful lead to follow.
That was a good day, well spent, says Brask, feeling a little uncomfortable as always in new armour but certain he will get used to it soon. So, bed, then set off in the morning, that's the plan?
"I've made my peace with this city," *Effort agrees.* "Although I would appreciate it if someone could carry another tent... I would be happy to chip in and pay for it, but I have not the strength to cart it with me. As soon as we've finished packing our supplies, we should leave. I've packed seven days' worth of food with me for the journey, as well."
(If the party only has 1 tent, we should buy another. If the party has 2 tents already, you can ignore me... if we're buying another tent, Effort will donate 1 gp to the cause)
"I can carry it. Perhaps we can find one after we have a final meal in the city." Kurama offers. "Also should we check the harbor for a boat that might take us partially into the mountains?"
Sorry, we were gardening this weekend and cut through our cable/internet wires. Whoops!
Effort would certainly know both where to find a ship and also where the best food could be found - either in the grittier section of the city or in the more affluent one.
Effort raises an eyebrow. "How much are you willing to spend?" She pauses. "And I'm not sure I'll be able to join you if you want to go to the high-end of things. It depends upon how they look at tieflings... and goblins," she adds, looking pointedly at Pip. "It will be no problem to find a ship to charter to the foot of the mountains from here," she adds. "We simply need to ask around at the harbor."
The minotaur looks at the tiefling and goblin, and a grin comes over his face. I reckon you can eat anywhere you like, and my maul agrees with me. I say we find somewhere posh and cause some trouble. What do you think?
Missing Brask's implication completely, "It would be nice to try a different part of the city before departing. Know anywhere suitable?" he asks Effort.
"Well," Effort says, searching her memory. "There is the Lucky Chariot Guesthouse," she says dubiously, eyeing Brask. "It is more on the upper crust side of things. I am not certain I can afford to eat there. I am certain, both Pip and myself, and quite possibly you, and maybe even master Burik here, are going to face some stiff resistance getting a table for not meeting the... dress code," she says politely.
"Is this not formal?" Kurama asks the group as he looks rather confusedly at his (now stained) white one-sleeved get-up, "I was actually under the impression that I had come to the city dressed too formally. If I'm mistaken, then I've learned another truth today." he continues rather happily.
Effort eyes Kurama with a bit of annoyed disgust at his innocence to the ways of the people of the city. She leads the group to a reasonably priced tavern, a bit above what she'd consider to eat at, but not the fancy place Brask wished to crash, either. As she does, she addresses the man.
"I see euphemisms don't work with you. By dress code I mean race. And by race I mean demi-humans. If you are a demi-human, you will find it increasingly harder to find a seat at the more expensive restaurants in the city. The further away you look from humanity's ideal, the more resistance you will meet. Be thankful that as you are now, you blend in quite well with the other humans of this city."
She stops before the establishment she chose and points at it. "Good food, and they won't throw us out on our asses for bringing Pip in with us. That is fine enough fare for me," she declares.
Some people, Brask says to the air, need to be put down. On the ground. Or under it.But, he continues, it's your call, and probably best not to be fighting the city guard tonight. We've got business in the morning. Damn, I'm hungry. WIthout waiting for Effort he walks, non too quietly, into the tavern and has a look around.
It's early evening, and the tavern is fairly busy with older folks and families eating dinner. You get a few glances, but nobody says anything outright. You find a table along the wall to the left and someone comes around to take your drink orders.
Nothing seems out of the ordinary. There are some older human men at the bar sharing pints of ale and laughs. A family sits at one of the tables nearby - parents, a boy and a girl. The children look at you smiling. The girl waves.
The menu is slightly more expansive than you're used to. The special is stewed goat with onions and carrots.

"Ah I see, now I understand. Thank you for letting me know. I will say though that I am probably farther away from the ideal you spoke of then I first appear." Taking a moment to roll up his sleeved arm, Kurama reveals a rather large injury snaking up the entirety of his arm and seemingly in concert with a strange tattoo or glyph covering the same area. "I covered it thinking that it might make people less uneasy around me but I think I may leave it uncovered for a bit." Kurama adds before cracking a mischievous grin. Leaving the sleeve rolled up he finishes with, "Lead the way, I am quite hungry as well and interested in trying a new locale."

Good run, Pip. Get used to this. We'll put some muscle on you yet.
Brask inspects his new armour - this is regular plate armour?

Brask has a two-person tent, but can easily carry another. He's not paying for it though. :) They're 2 gp I think.
Anywhere good to eat tonight? Last night in the big city, eh?

"I'm happy with a hot bowl of stew at the local tavern and a pint of ale," Burik adds. "But I'll go with the group."
Pip shuffles his feet. "I am hungry."
As you travel around the city with Effort as your guide, the sun dips a bit lower in the horizon. It will be dark in another hour or so.
