You make your way down into the forest to the right, passing the stream and going deeper into the trees to avoid the wild boar. It's still chilly, but the setting is undeniably beautiful. This area of the continent hasn't been overtaken by civilization like the coasts and some of the eastern valleys. Some of you probably know there are small settlements near the rivers, but there are no large cities between here and the White Winds. The vegetation is a mix of short pine trees and scraggly oaks with various leaf shapes. Ferns grow along the ground, with moss and tiny mushrooms sprouting up between them.
It's late afternoon now. The landscape hasn't changed much, but you can see through the trees that the sun is dipping in the sky. At this point you've rejoined the stream heading west toward the mountains. There aren't any fields or big clearings, but there seem to be smaller clearings for you to set up camp whenever you're ready to rest for the night. There's still time though to continue traveling, explore the woods, eat, etc.
Would it require much time for Brask to take Pip and attempt a bit of hunting in the woods? He'd happily spend an hour on it, and ask the others if they want to come along. He's looking for deer or something else they could have for dinner.
Brask, roll a nature or survival check with advantage (thanks to Cadmael scouting for you). Pip, of course, is more than excited to join you and has his bow ready to go.
Not having much luck as you wander around the forest, you turn to Pip. "Never had a real home...wandered a lot. Suppose I still am...but I've spent plenty of time in the wilderness. I can help!"
Nature: 11
Pip...is not much help. You do end up coming back along the opposite bank of the two boars that Cadmael had seen earlier. They're still rooting around the banks. Other than that, there are only a few chipmunks scurrying about. No deer or anything that would provide a decent meal.
Boar meat sounds good to Brask, but he recalls Effort's lack of enthusiasm for this fight, and shrugs to Pip. Best head back. We'll find something tomorrow.
Back at the camp, Brask tells of their sorry hunting expedition. So far the countryside sucks once again, but tomorrow's a new day, right?
The first watch passes by without anything noteworthy happening. Effort and Cadmael keep a keen eye on the camp. Brask takes over, but quickly falls back asleep. Thankfully, Cadmael continues to watch over the clearing and the woods nearby, and nothing seems to be lurking about. Kurama takes final watch. Groggy from being woken up in the middle of the night, he struggles for a bit to stay awake, but just as he's fading, the sun begins to peek out from between the trees.
Light floods the clearing after a few minutes, and everyone stirs awake. You've all received a decent amount of rest over the course of the night, especially Brask. Burik gets a fire going for the morning as everyone packs up their things. Eventually you start to make your way westward again, toward the White Winds. The sun feels good, and although it's chilly, the skies are clear today with only a few white puffy clouds floating off in the distance.
As you travel, you can stay alert for danger (Perception), peel off in search of hunting opportunities (Survival/Nature), forage (Survival/Nature), train with your spells/weapons (Performance), etc. Anything you can think of!
"Perfect! Guess we're going to the right for a bit." And with that Kurama will carefully make his way down the slope towards the stream and woods.

Effort would send Cadmael along to help you fellas, since she wants dinner too. Don't ask her for help hunting though, she's a city slicker ;-)
Kurama will stay behind as well to help set-up camp

Nature 9 Brask's definitely a city boy too. Hey Pip, you grow up in a city or in the country? Where's home for you?

Effort raises an eyebrow. "Are the boars still by the river? If you fancy eating boar, we can just ambush them."
Nah, the moment's passed. Brask yawns, and starts to unroll his bedroll. Should be some good hunting tomorrow, when we get further from the city.
Effort similarly sets up camp, keeping the first watch for the evening with Cadmael as company.

Definitely hunting for food with Pip. Let me see what you can do with that bow.
