Bazavur's first attack hits LF5 badly, but not enough to bring them down. Unfortunately, the second strike misses by a hair.

LF2 reappears, looking somewhat less close to death and carrying a fresh javelin. They don't attack this round though, looking warily at Bazavur and Soar both but keeping some distance.

Soar calls out to Bazavur in a parade ground voice to return to the group. Strategic, if temporary retreat. She sees LF2 and realizes she can’t get close to him but she fires off two eldritch blasts after ensuring her hex is attached to them. She moves closer if necessary but she tries to stay near Tangle who is handling Jalt retrieval. She asks Tangle if the rope is likely to work.
Despite their best efforts to heal themselves, and return to the fight, most of LF2's remaining strength is knocked out of them by Soar's first blast, and the last few drops of life are extinguished by her second. LF2 is dead.
Round Nine: LF5, 6 and 7 Jalt LF8 and 9, YT2 and 3 Yuan-Ti Child Swarms 1 and 2, and LF10 Tangle, Bazavur and Soar
LF5, LF6 and LF7 swarm, in their own way, around Bazavur, each with a club in one hand and an ugly spiked shield in the other:
Meanwhile, at the bottom of the slimy pit, Jalt faces the yuan-ti babies. First, they take damage from Spirit Guardians:
Swarm 1 WIS save: 4 Swarm 2 WIS save: 13
This time, both take a goodly amount of damage. But they keep attacking, perhaps fevered by the smell of blood in the air:
Attack: 22 Damage: 6 Attack: 25 Damage: 8
Both attacks hit. For the first attack, make a CON save. The DC is 10. You take 13 poison damage on a fail, half on success. Same goes for the second attack, make a CON save. The DC is 10. You take 15 poison damage on a fail, half on success.
Bazavur, you see two yuan-ti round the corner. One looks like those you have fought before; a snake head with human arms holding weapons. The other is kind of the opposite; a human male head, with snakes for arms that seem more like tentacles. The snake-head stands and regards you, but does not attack. The human-headed one speaks to you in draconic: Drop your weapon, and kneel motionless on the ground.
Bazavur, make a WIS save against this charm effect.

Soar hears a huge fight involving Bazavur and looks back at Tangle and nods, wanting to stay to help her with Jalt but not knowing what else she could do, but realizing Bazavur has found himself in need of help. She moves along, and finishes moving down the hall. Turns the corner and nearly runs into LF5 and brings her sword up to attack, hoping to get a good hit in while they're distracted by Bazavur. She BA moves [spell[hex[/spell] to them before attacking.
Attack: 17 Damage: 10 plus 2 necrotic Extra Attack: 24 Damage: 9 plus 2 necrotic

Swarm 2 Deception: 15
Tangle, you feel you have a good aim on the swarm, right at the spot where the monsters crowd thickest. You loose, and the arrow flies. Into the ground.
Soar, you round the corner and see Bazavur thoroughly surrounded. Your first strike takes out LF5, so you redirect your second to LF6; alas, without advantage, it just misses.
Bazavur calls up the stairs to Soar, “There’s more of them from down the hallway…”
He charges towards the closest one and swings away (if his target should fall he moves to the next closest foe)
Attack: 26 Damage: 14
Attack: 14 Damage: 13

Beam 1: 22 Damage: 9 plus 5 for hex
Beam 2: 20 Damage: 10 plus 2 for hex
Tangle is in the middle of drawing another arrow. “I don’t think the rope is long enough by itself, but right now he’s got more pressing matters.”
ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.

Bazavur dodges, weaves, deflects with his weapon, a display of art in battle that none of his companions can see. He's untouched by the attacks.

Jalt is up.
Jalt takes a swing at swarm 1, Attack: 14 Damage: 3 and with War Priest... takes a swing at swarm 2 as well Attack: 21 Damage: 4
He stays there letting the guardians protect him

Both of Jalt's attacks hit, slicing into several baby yuan-ti and killing them. Many in the swarm remain, though.

Bazavur, Tangle and Soar are up.
Wisdom save: 4
That's a fail. Bazavur drops his weapon and drops to his knees.
Soar and Tangle are up.
Tangle glances down the hall, sees nothing there, and turns back to try to help the teetering Jalt. She draws, aims, and looses.
Bonus Action: Insightful Fighting on Swarm 2, again, Insight 22 vs the swarm's Deception
Action: Shoot Swarm 2. 12 to hit, for 4 piercing damage. If Insightful Fighting hits, add 9 dmg.
