The patrons are all openly staring at this point, no one says a single word to the point that you can hear droplets falling from leaky kegs. The tattooed man, whom the half-orc just referred to as 'Krentz', looks at Kalmar with fury, spitting on the ground. "You just made a bad enemy, outsider. Xanathar won't forge---"
*CRACK*"RRRROOOOOOOAAAARRRRRR"
The tattooed man's tirade is cut short but a horrible breaking sound deep within a well in the center of the taproom. Shouts of alarm suddenly ring out as a hulking creature climbs up out — a monster with warty green skin, a tangled nest of wiry black hair, a long, carrot-shaped nose, and bloodshot eyes. As it bares its yellow teeth and howls, you can see that a half-dozen bat-like creatures are attached to its body, with three more circling above it like flies. Everyone in the tavern reacts in fear except for the barkeep, who shouts, “Troll!” He rushes to the corner behind the bar, pulling out a greatsword in a large leather scabbard labelled "Drunk Thumper".

Kalmar, you've actually fought a troll, it was one of your rare moments of glory back in Cormyr. You know they are fierce and regenerative when not exposed to fire. You've heard rumors of the Undermountain, a vast expansive dungeon beneath Waterdeep, and you figure it came from there.
Kalmar releases Krentz and draws his swords Hit it with fire or he won’t stay down! Take it down! Kalmar runs forward and slashes at the troll‘s legs with his short sword. Attack: 16 Damage: 6 he follows that up with a slice from his longsword aimed at the creature’s belly. Attack: 7 Damage: 8
On Ringo's turn, he'll turn his attention to the Troll and say, "let the lights illuminate your darkness!" and then cast faerie fire on the Troll and any of the flying bat-like minions around him, highlighting them in a purple outline. He then turns to Kalmar and says "let your blade strike with truth," and for a bonus action, gives Kalmar a bardic inspiration.

Kalmar, your blade strikes true, slashing across the creature's legs. It roars in pain as you follow up wildly, staggering to one knee as you do so.
Six of the stirges, which are more mosquito-like than bat like, are attached to the troll, bloated with its blood. They fly lazily, almost drunkenly, back into the well shaft. The three that remain fly wildly into the room, one attacking each of the party members.

Two of the striges miss, while one attaches itself to Fluttercloak.
Ringo, in the cramped quarters your faerie fire illuminates the troll and two of the stirges that aren't attached to your allies. They try to avoid the illuminance.
Stirge 1: 17
Stirge 2: 21

Fluttercloak flaps his beak silently, slashing at the stirge with both his daggers.
Attack: 12 Damage: 7
Attack: 7 Damage: 3
Neither connect and the kenku begins running around wildly, his shoulders gyrating as if to vigorously flap nonexistent wings.
The barkeep parkour's over the bar with surprising agility, running forward while drawing a greatsword out of the scabbard labelled "drunk-thumper", its metal gleaming with runes along its length reading 'Grimvault'. He charges forward, reaching the fray. "Get back! This is my inn and I won't see my partons die!!"
Kalmar, the troll gets a nasty bite out of your shoulder before turning to the barkeep, slashing him viciously with enough force you both reckon could fell either of you. He grimaces, holding fast. The half-orc heeds Kalmar's words, running over to a torch on the way, taking it, and dashing back.
Round 2!

Kalmar shakes off the brutal bite and circles back around the troll to flank it with the bartender. He drops into a low defensive crouch ready to leap out of the way if the troll attacks him again. (Taking the dodge action trying to give the barkeep advantage.)
The Faerie Fire emits out of from underneath the Troll outlining him in a purplish hue.
Then on Ringo's turn, he maneuvers till he is behind the Troll as he holds onto his longsword with both hands, and then when he sees an opening charge forward and plunges the longsword into the Troll's side.
