You spend the rest of the night without incident, going through the next four nights. Relying on the previous nature check you pass by the first mountain range you see and find yourself at the base of the SnowFlake Mountains. Along snow created peaks piercing towards the sky, one mountain in the middle remains barren.
—————————
You make your ascent up the mountain range. The rocky surface makes it difficult to get a footing as the stones slide and fall down the slope with each step. The trees fade and eventually stop leaving nothing but boulders and shrubs.
—————————
Halfway through the day, you come across another group of travelers. They all are wearing plain brown robes, having a small scroll of parchment hung around their shoulders and neck. They greet you warmly. “Scribe’s Salutations to you! What brings you to the Mountain?”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Matteo gives the group of travellers a warm smile as he casts his eye over their clothing, the scroll and anything else that might tell him who these folks are: Religion23
This group of four are clearly followers of Ohgma: one of the gods of knowledge. Matteo is able to recall a trio of temples built together somewhere in the snowflake mountains for Ohgma, Deneir, and Milil. There temples usually serve as giant libraries as well.
Salutations to you too, friends. Matteo gives a formal bow. My comrades and I are upon a Holy Quest, and can speak little of it, I fear.Might I trouble you with a question? Where does the Temple of Oghma lie? If it is along our path, we would pay a visit and consult the wisdom of your clerics and tomes; they may have knowledge that will help us achieve our goal. Deception25. Matteo looks the part of a holy paladin of Tyr or Torm, and with a little deception, most devout folk simply make this assumption. The sun glints off his gleaming armour, and he maintains an expression of piety and humility.
Seemingly genuinely pleased tohave visitors come to their place if worship. “Ahh, you plan on visiting the Spirit Soaring as part of your pilgrimage, splendid. Do look up the tales of Arven Tollseth, his stories and songs are wonderful. We left all but two hours ago on a trip of our own. The temple is on the right if you continue on this path. Master Clinton received a vision of a terrible darkness coming. We are off to find meaning to this. Hope all goes well for you. Can we assist you in any other way, brothers?” The priest will ask as he looks to his group of four in total.
"Can you describe this darkness" Drax would ask, moving forward towards the monks. Drax would have altered his appearance once more while on the road, Using disguise self to appear like a baby-faced young man in his mid twenties with nicley kept blond hair, while still wearing the black, gray, and green fine clothes. "That vision sounds quite worrisome... Did the vision speak of the source of the darkness? So That we may be vigilant and let the temple know if we see anything...matching its description." Drax would ask as he does his best to put on the expression of worry. Before moving closer to the holy men.
The priests look slightly defeated. “No, you know how the gods speak... vague and cryptic. That’s why we are headed to one of our sister temples to go through what knowledge their libraries might hold.”
Jengamyr removes his hood and approaches the priests with his hands in his robes. He smiles genuinely and says, "It seems that you are on a mission of great import. We do not wish to cause you any delay, however we have never been to this region and are uncertain of the locations of the temples atop this mountain. Would you have a spare moment to draw us a map, noting locations of import as well as any dangerous paths we should avoid- if there is darkness about, as your master has foreseen, we would do well to avoid any areas atop the mountain prone to danger and darkness."
The priest chuckles at Jengamyr's request “It’s not a hidden temple, follow along the path and you can’t miss it. We just walked down I doubt any creatures will come at you.” They take a bow in unison and turn to continue down the mountain slope. “Continue your walk in righteousness. May the Scribe bless you.”
"Yes, may they bless you as well" Drax would say with a nod before turning away from the priest... feeling pretty confident that if he wanted, he could do a pretty good job imitating him. "Shall we continue on our way?" Drax would ask the others as his blond hair flutters in the breeze, the young man looking eager to continue on his way
(OOC: he only looks like a young man because of the disguise :D)
As the priests walk out of earshot, Jengamyr turns to his companions and quietly says, "Since we have gained everything we can from their party, might it be wise to dispatch them before they are able to reach their sister temple and alert them of the coming darkness. If we are to continue on our path, I would suggest we leave as few witnesses as possible. Otherwise we may be exactly who pops in mind when they hear of trouble coming to the Barren Mountain on this very day. What does the group think?"
I had the same thought, Jengamyr, Matteo says, as he gives a friendly wave to one of the now-distant travellers who turns to look back at the party. But in truth, I think we have the advantage now; we know something of our destination, while they flounder and puzzle over the vague visions sent by their false gods. My thought now is to make haste, complete our task, and be gone before they even know it.

Drax would recast disguise self, changing his appearance to match that of the priest. He would then look to the group and clear his throat before trying his best to imitate his voice. "May the scribe bless you" he would say trying sound and act just like the priest.
Petmorn overhears this and, despite his servitude, cannot bring himself to murder innocents. “They cannot stop us now. They are inconsequential. Would it not be better for them to witness the coming of our Lord and wallow in their blasphemy?”
(Ooc: just to make sure we are understanding the rules of our order, are we within our rights and laws to take out this group or is this something Big Ole Asmo would frown upon?)
"While the dark lord does not promote senseless killing... they appear to be planning to stop our most holy mission" Drax would say in the voice and image of the priest. "These were not mere villagers or traveling merchants.. They are working to prevent the Lord of the Ninth from coming to power...." The disguised man would say drawing his crystal from his pocket.
