Navi would groan and pack away her shield and her axe. She'd mumble and grumble some dwarven swears as she mucks about the area. Finally, she'd take out the mapping equipment and start working on another update. She'd make sure to add notes on what happened.
Once done, Navi would put that equipment away as well. She'd take one more look around the area in case they missed anything and then just start heading down the larger path as Corum suggested. "And yah both better not 'ave cursed us!" she'd yell as she walks away.
(Since we were going West North West and decided to take the wider road S/N, I’d say Navi would choose to go North.)
”We’re in a jungle. With old statues. There’s an ancient civilization...” She thinks back to the skeleton Corum found in the guano hole, “And you just stole snake eyes off a statue we just beheaded. Call me superstitious!” Navi would grumble about. “And! I STILL haven’t been able to sink my axe into anything...” She’d throw her hands up.
As you follow the northern road, it gently curves back toward the west.
Navi is the first to notice something 60 ft. ahead. From this distance it looks to be a black, half circle 6 ft. across and 4 ft. above the tall ferns.
"Well this should be interesting, who wants to investigate it first? I am not the best at stealth but I will happily accompany anyone up to it." Ulrich will whisper out.
Navi would look over her shoulder, "Perhaps we should all get closer before we send the little one in to scare himself?" She thinks back to the tree incident their first day.
(Thinking we should close the distance by at least half before we send him in? Maybe a perception? Her and her axe aint much help 60ft away lol)
"Is it.. Is it even alive?" Georges stated. "For all we know it could be yet another statue that's just trying to scare us again. I say we just all creep closer just in case, though." He agreed with Navi and took a step closer.
As you move up to 30 ft. more details become clear. It is not a perfect semi-circle, but rather appears to be ribbed like a fan with many staves, giving it an undulating look. The color, overall seems to be black, but with the dappled light from through the forest, there are hints of reds, blues and greens.
OCC: I am trying describe something that looks a bit like an open hand fan, or half an opened umbrella.
As you approach through the tall ferns, it doesn't move. More and more details emerge as you get closer, until another statue is revealed.
This creature resembles a giant crocodile with a huge sail starting at the base of the neck and ending just before the tail. From its own pedestal to its back, it stands 3 ft off the ground. Unlike a crocodile, the legs are underneath the creature, denoting a creature that would not drags its underside. The open mouth has a smaller, but much broader jaw, with a row of large, sharp teeth. Reptilian scales are carved in great detail, and two more pieces of onyx take the place of eyes.
You also not the broad avenue which has curved from north to west, continues to the west, while more narrow paths cross going north and south.
OCC: Trying to describe something similar to a Dimetrodon.
"Well that is just creepy and how come I now have a sinking feeling one of those things," pointing to the statue, "is a de picture of something that is actually living on this island. I am again most intrigue about his place and can;t wait to discover what it has to offer, though hopefully at first from a safe distance." Looking at the forest around him with a bit of trepidation.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Navi would literally facepalm while Corum goes ahead and just plucks out the eyes on this statue too. She tilts her head back and sighs "Doomed I tell ye..." she'd mutter to herself and take a tour around the statue to take a closer look.
The statue is excellently made, and appears to be of almost the same stone as the Hested (or more precisely, the city that was before Hested). The road was laid around it, and the statue sits just a couple of feet south of the right-of-way.
Ulrich
As you glance around, you are the first to notice something black moving toward you in the ferns from the north east. In the moment it takes for you realize what you are seeing, the giant head of a viper moves out of the ferns to cross the roadway. The head is fully two feet wide, and its length is hidden by the ferns.
Corum nods to the idea, I am not saying which way we should go but just putting the idea out there, that the wider road may lead to another city.

Corum looks over at Ulrich I guess I could try and scout out ahead if you all would like?

As Ulrich creeps closer he will also take a look in the trees above this"thing" and to the sides to see if he notices anything.
Perception: 4
Corum will try and stealth around to the other side looking for anything that might be a part of this or give some kind of clue as to what it is.
