Ingrid explains, "Kate is very strong and very brave. She always keeps a calm head and she can cut people in half with her great sword. She also has extensive mercenary experience and always knows what to do. She is also very pretty and has various battle scars to show her battle prowess. Lucia is Onee-chan's girlfriend. She isn't as good on the battlefield but she is very smart as has connections to the Guard. She can figure things out a lot."

Oh, is that so. Mystery catches on to Ingrids abundance of detail on Kate versus Lucia. Due to her former life before Tomoe, her experiences allow her to pick up on Ingrids infatuation.

So, tell me about how you and mistress got here from Edo, and what you have been doing since you arrived here. I wish to know what my master is about.

"Onee-chan was from a noble house back in Edo. She was kind of like a knight. My family had served as retainers for her family for years and as per tradition, I was sent to her to assist her. Onee-chan is exceptionally skilled so she was able to compete with male knights. In our country, female warriors aren't common and are generally treated as being weaker than the male but Onee-chan proved them wrong. Onee-chan came here and began purging the streets of gangs. So far we have been fighting Rat Liver and we have done considerable damage to them."

Do you think Mistress will want me to fight with her?

"I think so. Yes."

(You may now have Tomoe arrive back at the hideout whenever you feel like Mystery's conversation with Ingrid is done)

Tomoe and Kate return shortly after Ingrids response.

We are back. We have found a new place. Let us pack up and head out as soon as possible.

Kate says, "Wait, what about Lucia? She's still out doing her research. If we leave now, she won't be able to find us."

Right, I forgot. How long did she say she was going to be gone?

Kate says, "I think she said that she needed a whole day to narrow their numbers down."

Very well, then we shall have to wait. We should have plenty of time. It will take another day or two for Boss Rat to learn if Zhoas demise, and atleast three more days for his orders to arrive. Not to mention any extra time it may to do devise and implement those orders. I suppose we can relaxed for a while. 

Mystery speaks up. Mistress, if I may. I do not belive I am strong enough to assist you in every facet of you endeavors. Simply put, I am physically weak and am just recently discovering my magic.

Well, I have a plan to get you up too speed quickly. Though I did promise not to make you do anything you did not want to do.

I serve at my mistress' pleasure. Please tell me what you wish me to do. Mystery says while prostrting herself before Tomoe.

Kate can explain it better than I can. And please stand up.

Kate says, "Well, The Diurnal District has a arena where people fight for glory, gold or just to kill other people. Tomoe and I have done it a few times before. It'll be good combat training for you."

Tomoe nods, The lower ranks are not much of a challange, but I will give you a spare revival potion incase you end up over your head.

Mystery looks a bit apprehensive but agrees to the plan.

Alright then, skipping to the arena where you enter. You're going in on the challenge match, right? You haven't gone up in many ranks on that one so it would be easier than the regular matches at this point.

I believe that's what the plan was.

Alright. Does anyone besides Mystery want to enter the arena?

(With the new revival rules, I don't recommend entering the arena without revival potions unless you are confident in your character/DMPCs abilities. Also if you have more than 3000 GP, you can always buy more Revival potions)

I think Tomoe and Kate and especially Ingrid have had enough near death combat for a few days.

So just Mystery. And rest assured Revive potions are going to be a money sink.

Alright then.

Mystery is led through a door to a large arena. The arena is a circular arena with a diameter of 200ft. Each half of the Arena can be segmented into 5 segments each 20ft away from the center. The combatants start at the far end of the arena close to the walls. The middle however, is composed of a criss-cross of thin catwalks. It is easy enough to walk on them but running or getting pushed may be extremely hazardous. Under the catwalks is a 60ft drop into water. The water houses a trio of Ku-toa. At this stage, falling in would spell instant death but if someone were to fight them off in the water, they would be able to leave the arena with their life. The fight would still count as a loss for them but they would be rewarded with more gold than they would be given if they had won.

Doing something slightly different with the battle map (yes, most future encounters will now come with battle maps). Instead of tracking each movement, you have a total of 10 segments. You can move to adjacent segments with just your movement (since you have 30ft of movement). Dashing lets you move up to the 3 segments (Like moving from A to D).

You can stay in sections A and J without any problem. If you take the dash action while on sections B to I, you must succeed a DC10 Acrobatics check. On failure, you fall to the waters beneath. No fall damage but it's still nearly instant death due to having to fight 3 Kuo-Toa. If you anyone is the target of a Shove Action while in the sections C to H and they fail the contest, they must succeed a 2nd Acrobarics check with DC of the opponents roll. If they fail that, they fall into the water below. 

Mystery sees her opponent on the other end of the arena. He is a 5ft 5 human male with fair skin that is on the darker side. He is wearing nothing but a brown leather loin-cloth. He has a big sword that is very similar in design to the one that Kate has. He has short black hair and a small blonde beard. The announcer announces, "Ladies and Gentlemen! We have a new contender in the arena tonight; a young tiefling girl who is mysterious in her ways. Give our new contender, Mistress! (The Announcer, who randomly decides the names of the fighters decided that Mystery should be called Mistress). She is going to facing a relative newbie though he is skilled in his own right, younger brother of arena veteran Clay Barbarian, Brown Bear. The arena is the Fishy Variant of the Cross-Roads. Regardless of who you bet on, give Mistress a warm welcome because if she falls from the catwalks or if she can't stand up to the grizzly strength of Brown Bear, this will be her last moments. Will She survive or will Brown Bear prove himself to be just like his bigger, meaner brother? Place your bets."

(If you want to go into the arena with Mage Armor, you can just mark off a spell slot. It will be treated as having been cast before entering the arena so you don't need to spend any action or turns to use it)

She will also hold her position and hold her action to cast Toll the Dead when Brown Bear gets in ranger.
