Chronero - Single Player DnD

The priest of Rolem casts a protection spell on himself before approaching the ritual materials. He wasn't quite sure what to expect at first but then he seems a bit relieved that it isn't something deadly like demon parts. He asks one of his altar boys to take it away. He notes the location of Revan's base and the town's layout. He seems particularly interested when hearing of a "Heretic".

"A heretic among their ranks? That is quite unusual. As far as I know, none of our warriors were held captive so either they may be from a different god's church or it could be one of their own that decided to rebel. Either way, if they are not dead yet, they could become a useful ally."

He then goes over to the huge statue of the war god and begins a prayer. After 10 minutes, he turns to Tomoe and says, "Rolem is pleased with you. The curse has been lifted. He has forgiven."

With a sigh of relief, Tomoe gives her gratitude to the priest and leaves the temple. She leans in and whispers to Lucia I think when we get home we should lock ourselves in the bedroom and see who can make the other unable to walk from exhaustion first. She gives her girlfriend a playful kiss on the cheek.

Lucia smirks and says, "You're on, Chief."

When the party gets back to base, they are greeted by two members of the Guard being led by the Guard Captain, Seraph. The blue dragonborn stands up and says, "You got here just in time. I was about to take your ally into questioning for obstructing an official investigation."

What happened ? Please explain.

"We have witnesses saying they saw you at the Golden Dune on the night of the attempted assassination of Mercy Mercury. We'd like to ask you questions on what you saw that night, who the perpetrators are... that kind of thing. Most witnesses ran at the first sign of trouble and couldn't give us a proper description of what actually went down that night."

(Oh boy, that feels like forever ago. I might need a refresher on thise details.) I had almost forgotten about that night. I have been fairly busy since that incident. I may need a few minutes to gather my thoughts and recall what happened.

"I'll be waiting here. Go ahead." While Tomoe thinks, Lucia chats with her old captain for a bit.

"Have you been drinking?"
"Yes. So?"
"You never drank even once during the years we served together. Why start now?"
"..."
"Is everything alright?"
"Everything's all sunshine and rainbows, Lucia. What do you ******* think!?"
"..."
"Sorry... it's just... things are not fine. I really don't want to talk about it."
"Alright captain."

Tomoe would recall the recent events and present herself as ready to the Captian.

I remember going to the club with my friends here. We had left most of equipment at home as this was supposed to be a fun night out. The show startes and Mercy had several bidy guards, 5 or 6 i believe. Halfway through her first song, a redhaired woman pulls out a firearm and kills one of the body guards. She had accomplices that begain to fight and kill the guards. The crowd began to panic and i felft compelled to help the bodyguards against these murderers. If i recall correctly the names the red-haired woman called out were Alps, Pyre, and Strider. Tomoe would continue to give what details she can recall about what they looked like. And one last thing. The red-haired woman had previously tried to hire me to plant a bomb in a Noblemans mansion.

Seraph takes notes of what Tomoe describes and then he hands off his notebook to one of the guards to make a police sketch. He does perk up his ears... er... head-spikes when he hears about the bombing. "I see... so this same woman and her crew are responsible for the bombing as well. The names sound like code-names so I doubt that's what any of them are actually called. At least we finally have a face. We are going to have wanted posters all over the town. We will bring these guys down." He walks off with his guards in tow.

Lucia seems a bit worried about the captain.

Tomoe gently takes Lucia's hand. What is wrong?

Lucia says, "I'm worried about Seraph. I think somethings bothering him. He's started drinking and he never drinks normally."

Is there anything we can do to help him?

"I don't really know. He didn't tell me what it was that was wrong."

Perhaps just knowing you care is enough to help him. 

Lucia thinks for a bit before conceding, "I hope you're right about that." She looks at the door and adds, "He's never been what you'd call cheerful but he isn't all doom and gloom all the time. He has gotten down before from a botched mission but it was never this bad and he always managed to bounce back eventually. Maybe it's something personal. He came here from Edo, actually. Never really did say much of why he came here. Maybe that's got something to do with it?"

Would Tomoe know anything a out him as a fellow Edo citizen? 

Nothing really. He's definitely not from any noteworthy family as she would have recognized his last name otherwise.

Seems to be many who left Edo to come here. We all have our reasons. Come on, Let me comfort you till the neighbours complain about the noise.

"Alright let's go. I could use some distraction after the 8 day curse business."

The next morning, as usual Ingrid is up before anyone else. She just walks around quietly.

Tomoe crawls out of bed and, still worn out from that nights romp with Lucia, makes her way to the kitchen. Good morning. How were things while we were gone?
