"Here! Have a copy! Stay tuned for next month's issue as well." Then he goes back to shouting to get the attention of the other potential buyers.
The front cover shows a picture of an attractive black haired female "Assassin" wearing leather pants that hug her skin and a "Leather armor" with short sleeves and without a midriff. Judging by the image, it's clear that this image was used more to sell copies rather than showing any practical armor that's built to protect anything. A short glance through the book reveals that it is chock full of advertisements. Though it does have some articles of interest.
((Actually Pale Hand is a completely new name. You have no clue who it is))
Flipping to the female Barb section, there's tons of pics though it is prefaced with a bit of article:
"In our last issue we wrapped up the final class the adventurer is likely to be: Wizards, Witches and Enchantress. Now dear reader, you may be asking yourself, "Didn't we already see a bunch of fashion for the Barbarian?" To that, I say yes! The Barbarian was the first class we covered on our fashion section but as you know, fashion changes and it's been a whole year so it's time to ditch last year's fashion and check out this years magazine.
"The fun thing about a class like Barbarian is that they don't require armor. In fact, the best barbarians can have a better time dodging hits wearing nothing at all than they would with a +3 Half-Plate. This means that you aren't restricted to things like practical protection when it comes to your choice in clothing. You especially don't want to chuck on Heavy Metal armors like those boring Paladin Nuns. You can go out dressed for a night of clubbing and then immedietly start slashing the moment someone wants to pick a fight."
Each of the pictures were accompanied by flavor text but really who reads those? The pictures themselves speak volumes.
The first picture is of a girl wearing a cotton top that fits her form well. The top is white, has one hand full sleeved but another hand was sleeveless showing off the shoulder and the collar bone. The top while fitting the model in shape had an extra long lower part which hung down from her body like it was meant to be a combination of a top and a miniskirt. Where the top portion of the shirt met the skirt portion, was a bright red belt. Under this skirt though she is clearly wearing black shorts. She wore thick combat boots that were a combination of black and yellow.
The second picture was quite similar to the outfit Kate had already. Except where Kate wore a fitting Tank Top and baggy olive pants, This one had light green shorts and a slightly darker green sleeveless crop top. Definitely one that shoes more skin. She wore white leather boots that were actually slightly shorter than regular combat boots but with long calf-length dark green socks. She also had a slim white belt.
Then the third picture had... Yuno!? No. Upon closer inspection, it's a completely different girl. She is a bit taller and older than the murderous champion. Had the same hair color and hair style. The flavor text said, "...inspired by one of the most vicious fighters in Chronero, Ms. Genocide, to really express your angry and psychotic side." The girl was wearing a brown skirt slightly above knee length with a slit on the sides to offer the maximum mobility. The top consisted of a dark purple collared shirt with padded sleeves. It was just short enough that it ended right where the belly button would be, showing off a bit of midriff there. The shirt also had a thick white streak going right down the middle, the edges being half-an inch shorter than the middle of each boob. The outfit had a thin red cloth tied around the neck in a bow.
Tomoe pauses after reading a certain sentence. Her mind wanders, imagining Kate in the nude. With a sheepish grin she points to some of the more revealing bits of fashion. What do you think Kate? Maybe it's time to show off your powerful legs or beautify defined midriff? She makes sure to give Lucia a playful wink. She doesn't want her girlfriend to get too jealous.

Lucia smiles and shakes her head, clearly not mad more just saying "Oh you never change. Without actually saying it." Being someone into girls as well, it seems Lucia wouldn't mind seeing Kate in more revealing outfits though only if Kate is okay with it. The detective had a lot more self confidence when it came to her looks than Kate does.
Kate looks at the outfits and raises an eyebrow. She first reacts with, "When did the cha... oh that's not her." She looks at the more revealing second picture which Tomoe was clearly hinting at and scoffs at herself. "This? With my belly and legs out? Who'd want to see that? I'm sure most people don't want to see a musclebound manly woman walking around wearing that." Of course, Kate was plenty feminine herself in terms of her figure but she just saw herself as being manly and thus, unattractive. Being cheated and then poisoned by her ex does not help her self-image issues at all.

"I'll pass on that..." Kate says, still not really being into women. Kate looked down at the magazine, wondering if people would want to see her that way? She wasn't sure... Lucia looked at Kate a bit torn. On one hand, she wasn't sure if Kate would be comfortable wearing revealing outfits like she was; most aren't. On the other hand she wondered if it would be helpful for Kate's self-esteem. She knows for a fact that Kate will turn heads if she wears the outfit on the magazine, both because of her own natural beauty which Kate is convinced she doesn't have, also because it is a fashionable outfit and everyone will be wearing it. Maybe getting Kate interested in fashion would do her good? Lucia turns to Tomoe. She doesn't say anything but her question is clear on her face. "Should we get Kate to try this on?"
Tomoe grins from ear to ear. She nods knowingly at Lucia. Alright Kate. Have it your way. But how about this. You let us girls pick out an outfit for you and you wear it as we have a night out on the town. If absolutely noone at all finds you the least bit attractive, then I will give up trying to seduce..I mean, trying to get you to wear more feminine cloths for the rest of my days. BUT! ((Make of this what you will but as far as Party limits is concerned, which is still a strict 4 people max, Ingrid is not considered an ally. So you can bring her along and yes, she's down for it.))
Kate sighs a bit of relief. "Alright then. Let's go."
After buying the Revival Potion for 3000 GP, Tomoe and Co. head off in search of treasure.
The trip to the triangular patch of forest that the party could see on the map was uneventful. They reached their destination on the third day and now they had to scour it for potential ruins and dungeons. Splitting up in a forest like this would make them easy targets to be picked off one by one. So it is safer to stay as a joint search team even though it is slower.
Pick one person as the search leader. That person needs to roll any one skill check of your choice: Survival/Perception/Investigation/History/Nature/Arcana
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(So I can bring everyone because Ingrid story reason?! Done)
I think Lucia is the best fit. She will roll investigation and, assuming she us able to come along too, Mystery will use guidence on Lucia for the roll.
It really doesn't take long at all for Lucia. At first walk around, it seems like coming here was a waste of time. There was nothing there. The party had searched the place for 4 hours, most of that time, spent walking. Kate was pretty confident that there was nothing there to find but then Lucia spoke, "Jackpot! There's two ruins here.""What? What are you talking about?"
Lucia points to the cliff face and says "Look carefully. That over there... it looks like natural holes at a distance but those are not natural. They are man-made arrow slits and surveillance windows." Then she steps over to the rocky wall and touches all over it, running her fingers on the surface and also knocking from time to time. Then she painted to a crack and said, "This... is a key hole. Disguised as a random crack. I could try picking it."
Then she walks over and leads the party an hour and a half's walk away. She gets down on all fours, looking for something. She then she spots a small treestump, presses on the top and a then sticks her hand into a hole at the side of said stump. After a click, the ground shakes and opens up to reveal a wide staircase going down. Turning to Tomoe, she says, "I'll let you know what these dungeons are called when we get back. I don't really know so I have to do some research. For now though, do we go into the Cliff Dungeon or the Ground Dungeon?"
The party descends the rocky steps. Walking down, occasionally the feel the sound of the steps they take is different. Looking down they notice that the rocky steps they were walking on was originally a ramp of some kind made of a bluish white metal. It looks strangely like Sevrin but slightly more blue and has green rust on it. Lucia seems to not be confused by this and neither is Kate. Surprisingly, Kate seems to have figured out what this place is and she slows down a bit so Tomoe could catch up and be next to her and then Kate can speak without needing to shout.
"You're not from around here so probably never heard of the "Second Star Ruins". Other than days, months and years, we also count what we call ages. You've heard by now that we used to have a different set of gods than the ones we do now right? Then Paraxo went mad and killed the Old Gods. Well, whenever the pantheon of gods goes through some massive change like when Paraxo killed everyone except Exal and all the gods had to be replaced by our current gods, that's when we say an "Age" has ended and a new "Age" has started. The current age is called "3rd Star" The "2nd Star" was the age of the Old Gods. These ruins date back to those times. Maybe calling it all "Second Star Ruins" is wrong because some of these ruins are actually much recent like the Temples of Fire, Water and Thunder. Those are actually from several hundred years ago. What really makes a ruin "A Second Star Ruin" rather than a normal ruin is if it holds forgotten tech. Ever wonder why there's so many cultists and ruins everywhere? See when the Old Gods died, I hear there was a mass scale invasion from the forces of Hell. I'm not sure what happened in your home during that time but here it was a demon-human war. As if that wasn't enough, we had even more war after we survived that. After this much war, we sort of didn't know how to build and use a lot of things. Golem Gear is basically something we reverse-engineered but the wizards won't tell you that. So anyway, these ruins are from a time before we lost all our tech and magic from war. With our empire this weak, these places are easy habitats for Cultist. Expect to see some "Unknown" metal and golems and stuff here. But really watch out for cultists. Cultists that love magic and tech and science love making places like this their base." Kate turns to Lucia and asks, "Hey Lucia, you know the name of the evil gods of tech, magic and science? I forgot." Lucia answers, "By tech if you mean machines and weird tools, that would be Paraxo. Science is definitely Null and Magic would be Atzeria."
After descending for a bit, the party comes to two side doors, both made of metal on the west while the ramp descends further down into darkness. The doors look like they don't have normal handles or knobs. There are however, red buttons on either side of the door and also what looks like a handle on the bottom of the door. Lucia looks at Tomoe and asks, "Which way Chief?"
Kate , being the party barb, takes the lead and walks towards the door. She presses the red button next to the door and with a hiss, the door raises into the ceiling and opens. Beyond is a dusty room with rusty metal shelves and much newer wooden crates. The walls are metallic with a square column right in the middle of the wall opposite to the door. It is also made of metal. A symbol is painted on it with dried blood. The symbol depicts a compass arrow pointing straight down and skewering through a crescent moon with blood soaked cloth having from it. Lucia says, "That is definitely the symbol of Atzeria."
Not really? There are candles on top of the boxes. Also the room isn't that dirty so it indicates it has some use but not too much use. Most likely a small storeroom for storing non-important things.
