Lucia shrugs, "These guys are thugs and with their boss dead, they'd be in a state of confusion. I say we tip the guard off about this place and let them handle it."

Now that you're out, Lucia says, "I'm still an undercover guard so I'll go tip the other guards off to make the arrest. Looks like we'll have to go after Shirai next." She then adds, "Do you think you'll need me for that? I'm starting to think Rat Liver is not the gang I was investigating. Either that or Ruttman was too low ranking to know about Capo or Equazzer. I doubt it though because the guy I got the names off of was either of the same rank or higher."

It was nice having you around. I think I would like to got to know you more on a personal level, but if you wish to keep this a mutual business venture I'm good with that too. I think we need you to help us keep going. I will help with your issue aswell of course. What say you?

Lucia looks back at the building they had left and says, "Well, if the gang's not Rat Liver then that means I'm dealing with Razorback, Bronzor, Ao Oni or something worse. So I'm going to need some help. Also, I've had my eye on Shirai for a while before getting into this investigation." She looks at Tomoe and says, "You're from Edo aren't you? Shirai's step-dad is also from that region. He's read a lot of novels and pulp from your homeland and is really into the culture without knowing even a bit of the culture. He joined Rat Liver to be cool and edgy just like all the other grunts. Unlike the grunts however, he was personally trained by his step brother, Shrike. Shrike is from the same place as you Tomoe and he is deadly.Being Shrike's step brother, Shirai should know all about the bosses his brother hangs out with."

I hope they are not shaming my homeland with their misdeeds. I cannot wait to meat shirai and learn all about his step father and brother. Tomoe would have her retainers sell off the non cash loot when they get back to the current hideout.

Kate leans back and says, "Yeah, I could use a bath too. I got too much blood on me. You going to go first?"

Lucia is not with you. She split off to get the cops.

Sure, I will go first. After we are done, and Lucia returns. We can talk about the next steps to make. 

Kate seems a bit absent minded and looks up at the ceiling, "Yeah... about that. I don't think I'll be able to contribute much more for a bit. Getting this new hideout as well as sharing in the expense of hiring mercenaries on our raid to Desmond's house has tapped me dry now. I have no money at all, not even change. I haven't been doing merc work either so there's no income. I'm going to have do a quick job so we can actually fund the next steps... whatever those steps might be."

I do not plan on hogging all the cash we pulled away from this last raid. Let's split it evenly between the 3 of us first, then see where we are. But, we may need to do some separate work anyways. There may be some pressure on us so we should probobly take some time to let our enemys cool down.

Kate looks away from the ceiling and at Tomoe and says, "About that. I was thinking... Why are you helping me out anyway? The only connection you had to Rat Liver was a guy hired you to take out Gibbly or steal his valuables or something like that. I don't remember. You know you don't have to put yourself in danger to fight this gang right? It's my fight."

Well, I will not lie, part of it was to try to get into your pants. I thought you were pretty and wanted to help you. But things have changes. I am no stranger to seeing the effects of drugs and gangs ravage a city. What I thought would be a good way to get closer to you quickly shifted into something I feel is right to do. This gang is a disease. And as a knight, I want to bring it down. Tomoe smiles a big toothy grin. And if I get to meet some cute girls along the way, well that is just a bonus now, not the goal. So, no I do not have a personal stake in this, but on my honor I cannot sit by and watch this corruption.

Kate stands straight again. "You do realize that all the gangs deal in drugs right?"

Of course, but I needed someone who knew the city.  And as you told me, the Rat liver is at the bottom and I know I am not strong enough to go for the top. I can understand if you do not want to work with me anymore. I can come of a bit strong sometimes. But in the short time I have known you, i count you as a treasured friend. I hope you will come back so we can keep hunting down lilith togather. Tomoe sits on her bed and kind of just, looks at her feet, hoping Kate will still want to take on this gang with her.

Kate looks back at the ceiling and says, "Makes sense. Still, as much as I really want to get back to killing Rats, I still need extra gold because I'm all tapped out right now."

The there is a knock on the door and Lucia's voice can be heard, "It's me."

Tomoe cautiously opens the door to let Lucia in.

Lucia strides into the room. "Jobs done. Guards are all over the hideout, making arrests and confiscating drugs. With any luck the gang will think the guards are responsible for Ruttman's fall so I don't expect them to send more assassins after us." She looks up to Tomoe and Kate and says, "Why the long face? We did good today. I know that Rat Liver isn't the gang I'm looking for and you guys got info on the big bad bosses of the gang. That looks to me like a win."

Kate was just thinking of doing a side job to drum up some cash. What was our total take from what we got from the raid?

Lucia reports, "The final haul was 3,400 GP. Dividing among us leaves each of us with 1,133 GP and 1 left over GP." She looks at Kate and says, "Doing side jobs might be a good idea. Though I do worry we've caught the big boss's attention with our recent stunt."

Tomoe separates out the gold and thinks for a moment. Any chance we could join a guild or procure a patron to aid us in taking down Rat Liver? It would make money less of an issue, and could grant us access to better equipment.
