While moving through the forest, you encounter one of the famous Wooden Fortresses of Razorback. The walls are constructed of thick wooden pikes that are as wide as pillars that are half buried in the ground and reinforced with very very thick rope. The large wooden drawbridge (There is no moat) have two tall guard towers on each side. Banners of Razorback are stuck to the ground near the fortress. There are small windows in the outer walls. They are too small for anyone to fit though. These windows are used as arrow slits. Above the Draw bridge is a large metal plaque with the Razorbang sign engraved on it.

You see that it's on the other side of a small body of water. The trees obscure you from the tall watchtowers so you have ample time to react and decide what you want to do.

That looks to be a bit more than we can handle. Should we move on?

Lucia says, "Now hold on. If we can head back and let the guards know of the location of these base, I'm sure they'll pay us a bunch. The guards are always on the lookout for such fortresses. If we go back and inform them, I'm sure they'll give us a reward. Though how much, I don't know."

Kate says, "I say we save telling the guards for when we head back. Right now let's look for something else."

After more searching, you find what appears to be an old hut of some sort. It looks abandoned. 

Tomoe will encourage sneaking up on the camp. Cant trust it to be truly abandoned.

Rolling Initiative.

Tomoe: 13

Kate seems to think hope of stealth is lost and walks up ahead, taking the lead. Lucia disappears into the foliage and attempts to stay hidden. As Kate moves her hand over the door handle, she seems to notice something and says, "What the ****? Hey Tomoe take a look at this."

The handle and the door seem to have a transparent slimy fluid on it. Lucia returns from the quick scout and says, "Um... guys, there's this weird fluid on the whole house."

I do not like this. Everyone stay back. Tomoe waits for the girls to take a few steps back from the door/house before she takes out a crossbow bolt. She gently touches the bolt to the liquid on the door.

The bolt seems to corrode a bit but the corrosive property of the liquid is very low.

What do you suppose this stuff is ? We should probably not touch it. Tomoe takes a look around the camp for signs as to why it was abandoned and its connection to the slime.

Perception roll 7

(it's not a camp. It's a single house in the forest. A stone cabin)

All Tomoe sees is just leaves and nature.

Lucia steps up and attempts to use her detective skills. Investigation: 10

"Corrosive slime... House is abandoned... It's covered in this stuff." Lucia steps back and says, "I know what went down here. You know about the oozes? Gray Ooze, Gelatinous Cubes? All those nasty stuff that burns through your weapons and armor? Well, seems to me this house has fallen victim to an ooze infestation. Not sure what kind of ooze but it's definitely the kind that burns through weapons."

Kate looks through her list and says, "Each Grey Ooze is worth 155 GP"

So, is the ooze still hear? and how do we fight it if it corrodes on contact ?

Kate says, "A merc always comes prepared." She pulls out a bottle from her pouch and says, "This potion costs as much as a healing potion but it's worth it. It's a coating that keeps non magic weapons from corroding when fighting oozes, At least for a bit. One bottle is good for 10 swings." Lucia adds, "I fought an ooze once. I can punch it without issue." Kate continues, "Tomoe, you have your bolts right? You can hit the oozes with your crossbow. I can use the potion on my sword and Lucia can punch things."

That solves the how. Please do not tell me the slime is still attached to the ooze and its the entire house.

You hear a voice coming from the foliage, "That's not how smiles work." The voice is mature and dignified. It's owner, a female fair-skinned half-elf who looks to be in her late 30s steps out of the forest. She is wearing a pink low-cut, full-sleeved summer dress made of fine silk and long flowing pants, also made of the same fine silk. She has leather armor on and a large leather satchel around her waist. On the other side of the satchel hang, a set of pan pipes. Hung from the satchels leather waist band, is a Silver Rapier. She wears a golden pearl pendant. On her feet are wooden, flat-heeled wooden sandals. She also has a few thin rings of silver on her fingers. She also has a summer hat. from the back of which hangs a short, loose braid of black hair. However, the most striking thing about the woman is what appears to be metal rimmed slim goggles. The frame is metallic and slim, the glass is stained black and it seems to be attached to her face. This is Golem-Gear (Think of it as looking like large sunglasses). The woman says, "I take it you are lost? Why else would you be here in the middle of nowhere.

Judging from her attire it seems she might be a Bard.

Greetings, Tomoe says as she gives a traditional bow from her homeland We are hunting monsters for the nearby city to help keep the peace. Is this by chance your home ? Tomoe is no stranger to poets and their odd ways. 

"Oh heavens no! Actually, I'm a mercenary who was hired by the heir to this cottage to rid it of the Slimes (Another colloquial term for "Ooze") that infest it. I see that our goals align in this task."

How fortuitous, one might say it was a miracle. Tomoe looks to and smirks at Lucia. We were just exploring how to go about engaging with this slime. You are more than welcomed to join us in this endeavor. I am Tomoe, this is Kate and Lucia.

Kate and Lucia spit out the usual formalities when meeting someone new. The woman says, "I'm Priya. The more the merrier! Let's go then, shall we?"

Tomoe asks the group if they can tell if the ooze is still here, or if its not which way did it go. 

Lucia says, "The ooze is probably still inside. Though I'm more concerned with the possibility that there might be more than one."

Meanwhile, Kate applies the anti-ooze potion on her sword.
