Chronero - Single Player DnD

Kate gets up and heals herself almost back to full HP with one of the healing potions Tomoe gave her and burns King. King lifts up his sword and says, "Just die already." He swings upward at Kate, catching her on the jaw and nearly cutting her head in half. Kate stumbles back and nearly falls over. She jams her sword in the ground and stays standing once again. King grips his sword tight and gets ready for a 3rd round of attacks.

Kate's turn.

Gross.

Kate has no choice but to down the next potion and burn her aura (does it have limited uses?)

Kate downs her last healing potion and completely heals her wounds. King is starting to get very frustrated with the situation and makes more violent attacks. With his weapon glowing with radiant power, he slashing across Kate's chest, painting the ground with the barbarian's blood. He then buries his sword in Kate's stomach. So far, it seems like King has just been absolutely beating the tar out of Kate this match but with the latest flurry of attacks, Kate feels his attacks losing steam. She says, panting and nearly out of breath, "What's the matter? Out of juice?"

Kate's turn.

Kate's HP: 31/65

Kate takes her chance to counter, She burns her aura and takes aim, putting everything into it.

Reckless but no GWM. Her arm adds +3 damage right? I'll do the math on that assumption.

Attack: 16 Damage: 18

Attack: 27 Damage: 23

Great Sword+1: 10 (Adv: 18) Dmg: 28 (Hunter's Mark included)
Great Sword+1 (Without GWM): 25 (Adv: 21) 19 (Hunter's Mark included)

In spite of his armor getting hotter by the second from Kate's aura, King still manages to deflect both of Kate's attacks. He then dashes forward and slashes across Kate's throat with his great sword. Kate doesn't look very good but if she can just get a few good hits in...

Kate's turn.

Kate retaliates

And does her fire aura thing is she still can.

King heals with Lay on Hands for 30 HP.

Kate swings again and King hops back to avoid it. That is when Kate sees her opportunity and while sending a wave of heat, she leaps forward and cuts across King's chest, coating the floor in blood. King glares at Kate. His hand glows with divine energy and he touches his chest. The wound left there quickly seals up and goes away, as if there was nothing there at all.

Kate's turn.

I'm sure Kate makes and angry face and or remark at seeing him heal his wounds after working so hard to make them. 

She take the opportunity to get in a few strikes while he heals

Attack: 14 Damage: 12

Attack: 25 Damage: 19

And fire aura.

Ironically, Kate is more of a cold anger type of guy and not very shouty when angry.

King Casts Hunter's Mark again on Kate using his last spell slot.

King attacks twice with his great sword:

Great sword+1: 18 Dmg: 10+5 (Rerolls in case of 1s or 2s: 3 6)
Great sowrd+1: 15 Dmg: 22+4 (Rerolls in case of 1s or 2s: 6 2)

Kate scowls at King as his wounds heal. She swings back with an arching attack that cuts across King's chest, reopening the wound that had just closed. She goes in for a second attack but King manages to block the attack. He then retaliates by making a deep horizontal cut on Kate's chest. He then tries to stab her but Kate rolls out of the way just in time to avoid being impaled.

Kate's turn

((To win at this point, Kate needs to do a total of 29 damage on her next turn. However, since she has the Desert Aura, she needs to do a total of 26 Damage between two attacks. This can be done by either trying to hit an AC of 19 once by using GWM. It essentially comes down to rolling a 17 or higher in four rolls of the d20. Alternatively She can try to roll 12 or higher in two attacks with advantage. Not sure which one has a higher probability at this point though as the situation is basically the type of thing I'd have expected to see in my Math exams. ))

Kate will try to go for the more secure damage.

Attack: 26 Damage: 16

How does one roll a 4 with advantage.  Ffs.

Kate and King are both at the end of their ropes. Kate tries to end this with a slash on King's shoulder. She goes for a second attack but King parries. Kate's sword flies out of her hand as King proceeds to chop her fingers off. He delivers the finally blow by impaling Kate through the chest. Kate coughs out a disturbing amount of blood before collapsing to the ground unconscious.

King turns to Tomoe and says, "A deal is a deal. Leave now unless you want to see me finish off Kate."

Tomoe approaches and gives King a deep bow beffitong of royalty of her homeland. A deal is a deal. Let me collect my friend...all of her...and we shall consider this matter closed. We will not knowingly interfere with you and yours so long as you do the same. 

When allowed, Tomoe will collect Kate, and her fingers. Using a potion to magically reattach them and leave.

King says, "Unfortunately, the deal was a battle to the dead. Kate... is not dead yet. The duel must be ended once I finish it."

Tomoe give king a hard stare First, you never said it was to the death. And second, I am not leaving without Kate as you said we all could leave when the duel is over. I wish no more bloodshed over this matter. We are beaten and you have victory over your rival. Is that not enough?

King says, "The conditions were stated that it was to the death and so I will see it through. You may leave, yes, but Kate's life ends here. A breach of the conditions would have a deadly curse befall you."
