Tomoe falls flat on the bed. Did i do the right thing letting her go? I wounder sometimes.

Kate tries to lighten the mood a bit by joking, "Nah, if she stayed, we could have sold her to slavery." The joke fails and Lucia glares at her. Kate says, "Sorry, sorry. That was a bad joke."

Tomoe rolls on her side to look at her friends, ignoring Kate's poor humor. Emi-chan, would you please go ask the others to keep an eye on her tonight?

Ingrid nods reassuringly and leaves the room fora few minutes to instruct the other retainers.

We have another pressing matter that has been pointed out to us. Out hideouts are far too small. No one has any privacy or personal space. 

Suddenly there is a knock on the door. It's the messenger you sent to deliver the note to Shirai. He returns with the bottle of Sake in hand (Actually, he was supposed to come sooner but DM forgot about him until just now). He says, "Sorry mate, I came earlier but the room was empty so I came back later. A man with lot of Golem Gear was at the Dojo and he gave you a letter and your gift back. The messenger hands Tomoe the note from Shrike and the Sake. You can still sell it back for 1200 GP.

The note reads:

To Tomoe

I appreciate the offer but it's too late for you. Let's say me and my brother stop attacking you. You think that's going to save you? You've caught the ire of the boss and I promise that you will regret it. The fact that your letter reached me tells me that you know where Shirai's dojo is. Don't bother sending anything else there; We're relocating. As for what will happen to you, I still stand by what I said. You and your friends will die and it is your fault. I'm not going to be the one attacking you. You have become a threat to my boss and thus, you will not survive. If you want my advice, I will tell you to leave town. That's the only way to save yourself.

Shrike.

Tomoe reads the letter out loud. Well, that went as well as i honestly expected. 

Tomoe's retainers go off to keep an eye on the girl. Lucia asks, "So what now?"

I know i keep saying we need allies, but what if we try something similar but different. There is a saying in Edo that translates to approximately, The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Tomoe thinks for a moment. Rat Liver keeps an illusion of being a small gang while actually being rather large. is there anyway to get a rival gang to take notice and perhaps cause some havoc, allowing us to maybe operate with less attention ?

Kate shakes her head and says, "I doubt it. And I think you've misunderstood something about Rat Liver. They never held an illusion of being small. It's just their size and actions are on the smaller scale compared to the other gangs. Razorback, Ao Oni and Bronzor are all much bigger than Rat Liver. Razorback are outcasts working mostly as assassins and have the largest presence outside of the city. Ao Oni and Bronzor are too busy fighting each other to worry about Rat Liver. And I wouldn't get involved with any of the other gangs if I were you. I like being alive."

Lucia adds, "Yeah, I agree. Messing with the larger gangs is just asking for trouble. It's true I'm going to have to go after them eventually but for now, I can't touch them; they're too powerful."

Tomoe groans. This is starting to get frustrating. I do not think leaving town is an option at all. Too many obligations to leave. We have no allies to speak of. And we have little monetary resources. I am open to any suggestion at this point.

Lucia and Kate remain quiet. They have no idea what to do. Kate suggest, "Do we try gathering money again? The rewards from killing Razorback aren't enough. Should we try fighting in the arena for more money?"

That could be our way into the black markets to gain access to better equipment. But what is the likelihood of getting killed? 

Kate says, "Well, since the fights happen in a tier system, I believe the first fight or two should be easy enough for us. Though we will have to contend with being separate. I don't believe there are options to fight together. Even if there are, I think those will be harder."

(OOC: I forgot who you fought last time so if you end up facing the same guy twice... it's a different guy who happens to have the same name. I'm going to write it down from now on)

Then, if we are all in agreement, i think we should dip our toes in that water. 

Lucia yawns and says, "Right. Let's do that tomorrow."

Ingrid returns about this time. She is told the plan. She is worried she isnt experienced enough, but Tomoe assures her a fight or two would go along way to her training. She agreed and settled into the bedding Tomoe set up earlier while Tomoe herself shares her bed with Lucia and Kate has her own bed.

Everyone gets a long rest. Let me make a few rolls (unmodified)

You worry me when you do random rolls. 

You are woken up by the sound of a large sound on the door. Someone strong is trying to break it down. You have 1 round to do whatever before the door breaks down.

Also, you are free to swap out Ingrid's prepared spells.

Tomoe gets woken up by the racket at the door. Oh no, not this again. All hands on deck If there is time she and Ingrid will put on their armor, if not They grab their weapons and Tomoe will dodge while standing near the door. Ingrid falls back and will cast bless on Tomoe, kate and Lucia.
