Tomoe sits in the waiting room again. She was told that she will be fighting again shortly. Then she hears heavy footsteps, looking back she sees the tall elf that she met back at the spa, the 2nd ranked fighter in the arena.
The cheerful sounding woman says, "No, don't worry, I'm not your opponent. My fight is coming up soon. I believe you go after me. It's a coincidence meeting you here. I didn't think you were one of the arena's fighters." Even decked out in such armor and wielding a large mystic lance, she is still as friendly as the last time.
Tomoe is visibly relieved. My team and I are in a bit of a bind. We are hoping trying to quickly raise funds to purchase new gear that can help us complete our tasks. But our foe is starting to outsmart us. We met before at the Pool yes? You are quite pretty.

The armored woman waves her hand in front of her face and says, "No, no, you're pretty. You flatter me. Yes, we met at the pool before. Again, sorry for my friend's behavior. She's not really bad to hang out with if you get to know her. "
Tomoe graciously accepts the return compliment. Leave it to our friends to always see the best in us. Even if we do not always show it. I do not suppose it is out of the equation for us to become acquainted ? Let me properly introduce myself. I am Tomoe Gozen. But you may call me Tomoe.

The elf says, "My name is Chiea Zerynill. I'm known as Big Sister in the arena. My friends call me Chiea. It's nice to officially meet you."
(Ooookay, you would not believe the bullshit that just happened to me. So I was doing this assignment I have due in 12 hours and Windows decides to ******* update on me at that time. I'm like, "Yeah, okay. No problem. I'll just wait for the updates to finish." The updates didn't finish. After getting stuck on 15% the computer restarted automatically. Picked up the update at 7% then... "Update failed. Reverting changes." And this ******* message was on my screen for 3 hours. I finally ignored the "Don't turn off computer" and turned off my computer. Restarted it, same shit then, Blue Screen: Kernel Security Check failed." Miraculously, the computer is working now. I somehow escaped the Windows Update Hell and now I'm back here.)
Tomoe bows respectfully It is nice to officially meet you as well, Ms. Chiea. Tomoe is trying figure out where Chiea's allegiances lie as far as Rat liver is concerned but wants to be discrete. Perhaps Chia and her friend could become some of the allies she needs. I hope you do not mind if i ask you a potentially personal question so soon into our acquaintance but I am new to this country and would like your opinion on the gangs of the city.
(WoW. well at least you back online. Did you lose any progress on your assignment?)
Chiea says, "The gangs? Well, they're here I guess. Would have been better if they weren't since then you could walk alone at night without worrying about getting mugged. Though for commoners like us, as long as you're careful you should be fine enough. The big guys usually have bigger plans and don't waste time with us. Still not good though but that is what the situation is like."
(No, I didn't lose any progress. I can have the assignment done in the next hour or so. I could have had this done hours ago and been in bed but instead, I'm here finishing the assignment at 5:30 AM and sleep deprived. I can't go to bed because classes coming up. At least tomorrow is a day-off for me and I think I'm going to pop a sleeping pill when I get to bed later tonight. )
(yeah, though I only get 2 days off so I'm going to be staying up late. It's just that when I finally do get to bed, I'll pop a sleeping pill before doing so)
Chiea thinks for a while and says, "I... don't think they have. Actually... it depends. Which gang are we talking about?"
Either Big Sister buys your false pondering or doesn't mind at all. She says, "Oh Rat Liver. No I don't think many have tried to stand up to that. The guards are way too busy dealing with Ao Oni and Bronzor. I think it's partly because Rat Liver is made up of a bunch of drug addicted youths that no one cares about them. I don't recall them doing anything big... just small time stuff like selling drugs and mugging people."
Tomoe thinks to herself that no one has any real idea what Rat Liver is actually up too and how dangerous they are. Well, i will be sure to be careful. Thank you. Do you and your friend (cant remember if you named her) Ever do any mercenary work? I am thinking of becoming a freelance mercenary.

She says, "You're talking about Yuno right? We do mercenary work. Well... Yuno does most of the work at all times. That one's thirst for blood is limitless. I usually don't seek out active work but I tag along with her whenever she feels she would need a defensive wall. Though not many can afford her. She charges 100, 000 GP or more for jobs. It's expected really. As far as fighters go, she's one of very best in the land. You just point her towards a target and say, "Kill" and you can expect the target to be found as paste the next morning."
"Well, it's time to fight. I will see you later." With that, she heads off to the arena. Some time pass and she returns again. ""I won my fight. Good luck with yours." She walks off again, her armored footsteps heavy on the ground.
Tomoe walks into the arena to find that this match is going to take place in an acid pool. She is on a metal walkway that is 65ft wide. Her opponent is a Hobgoblin in studded leather armor. He wields a short sword in each hand. This hobgoblin is bald and is of a paler shade of red. He raises his short swords in the air as the crowd cheers. The crowd can still see the match but they are protected by a magic wall. No matter who's side they are on, they won't be able to interfere with this match. The announcer announces, "Ladies and Gentlemen! Looks like our warrior princess has decided to try her hand in combat once again. This time, her opponent is the twin sword wielding hobgoblin, Barko! In her last match, she one-shot her opponent. Will Barko fall just like Gunther did or will our noblewoman from Edo enjoy our arena's special acid bath? Place your bets and let the bloodshed begin!
The arena itself is much smaller this time. It's a square arena rather than a circle. Along the middle is the long metal pathway. The pathway has small stubs that mark the center of it. The pathway is 180ft long. Tomoe stands 30ft away from the center line and Barko stands 30ft away on the opposite side. There is 60ft distance between the two fighters. There is 60ft of acid on each side of the pathway. Tomoe is 30ft away from either edge that leads to acid.
The crowd gasps in shock and excitement as Tomoe's crossbow bolt flies true and scores a direct hit on Barko. Like a complete reenactment of her last match, Tomoe wins with a single hit. The crowd cheers for Tomoe as Barko is taken away by staff and stabilized.
Battle Victory. Tomoe gets 30 XP.
Tomoe returns to the waiting room where the owner says, "Damn girl! You're on a roll. Here's your prize." She hands Tomoe 500 GP. "So you want to try your luck in the arena again? You seem to be doing great."
