Alright so what will Tomoe do now?

Well, assuming it's the evening after a lovely dinner and planning session, I will return to the Inn that I have a room at and explain the plan to my retainers. I will also have them go out in the morning to help me make some purchases. 4 potions of healing and a set of studded leather armor.

1 GP for tavern and 200 for potions. So that will be 201 GP. And studded leather is 45GP so that would be 246 GP. Do wish to do anything else before the big night?

I'd like to find out if there are magic item shops, and if there are what kind of goods they tend to sell.

After searching for a bit, you learn that basic magic shops vary based on what type of thing you are looking for. If you are looking for weapons and armor, House Phoenix sells those to members. Spell scrolls, wands, staffs and rods can be bought from House Serpent if you are a member. Members of House Thunderbird can buy Wondrous items, Rings and Potions. However, outside of these houses, finding magic items is difficult. You will be able to buy a wide array of different magic items from the black market though. They may even hunt down the item you want for a price. However, the black market is in the Undertown and finding the entrance to it is the really difficult part.

Besides this, if you are looking for Common Magic Items, the best place to look is the Diurnal District during the day.

At evening you go back to The Dancing Weaver and you find Kate waiting for you. Aside from the obvious great sword, she is wearing a black tank-top and leather pants. She has her hair tied in a pony-tail. With her arms out in the open, you can tell that she is quite muscular; possibly a lot more than you. Her lack of armor and her above average strength gives you the impression that she might be a Barbarian. Kate says, "Alright so there's been a complication. To fight King in the Arena, we need to fight two other fighters in 1 on 1 combat. We will be fighting these two fighters in one hour gaps. Both of these guys are Rat Liver. How do you want to do this? Will you take on these two and leave King to me or will you take on King and leave the two to me?"

wow...Tomoe says to herself upon seeing the impressive woman before her. Um, well if I'm allowed my weapons I should be fine taking on the 2 lesser fights. Leaving you fresh to fight king.

Kate says, "Yeah you'll have your weapons. So it's settled then. You take on the two goons, I'll take on King. Let's  go then."

Kate leads you through the Diurnal District and you arrive at the pits. After a quick talk with the woman who runs the place, Kate says to you, "Alright, follow the lady to the starting area and wait for your fight to begin. The next time I see you, I'll have King with me."

Sounds good. Tomoe does as instructed.

After awhile the gates open and you hear the announcer. "Ladies and gentlemen! Tonight we have a few new faces here in the pits. One of them wishes to go up against King while the other will show us what she's maid of by taking on two combatants in one night. The first combatant will face off against the challenger right now. Sorority VS Tomoe."

The gates open and you're sent forth in the arena.

The arena is circular with a 180ft diameter. You and your opponent are both standing 15ft from the center and 30ft from each other.

Your opponent looks like a normal teen with not much combat experience. She's got studded leather armor and a dagger.

[Basically Commoner with better equipment]

Your turn.

Tomoe draws her sword and closes the distance, lashing out with a quick strike.

Attack: 11 Damage: 8

Tomoe swings her sword but her opponent swiftly dodges the blade by inches.

Attack: 13 Dmg: 1

Sorority swings her dagger upward but the clumsy swing misses completely. She tries to recover by delivering a gut punch to Tomoe.

Your turn.

Barely feeling anything from the punch Tomoe brings her sword around to strike at Sororitys dagger arm.

Attack: 14 Damage: 6

The strike lands true. The blade cuts a bad gash on the forearm, making it hard to hit things. Sorority is having doubts about this fight but there is no escape from the arena. She counters by taking another attempt to stab Tomoe.

Dagger: 15  Dmg: 4
Punch:  19  Dmg: 1

It seems Sorority should have gone to train herself in martial arts. Her dagger hits nothing but air but she does manage to connect her fist with Tomoe's face.

You throw punches like a little girl. Tomoe taunts, grinning wide and she takes the pinch with ease. She brushes aside the fist with her shield, trying to open up a chance to strike at Sorority's other arm.

Striking at the other hand almost lobs is off. Sorority is done for. The announcer announces Tomoe as the winner. The gates open and Tomoe's opponent limps away toward the exit as Tomoe is escorted out of the arena and back into the waiting rooms. While getting there, you hear the announcer say. "Now that was a good fight. Looks like the vast majority voted for Tomoe to win so it's a victory for everyone except Sorority. Let's give our young newcomer a break while we have a favorite return to the battlefield. That's right the next battle will feature Genocide, the reigning champ of the arena." As you walk to the waiting room, you see another young women pass by you. She is wearing a half-plate, holding two swords and wearing a mask that looks like Tiamat.

I'll spend 1 hit die during the short rest. 2 hp could make all the difference.
