Nemeia nods and says, "Cali ran into the larger room so she could clean herself. Hope that doesn't upset any of you." Nemeia thinks for a moment and says, "I didn't mean forever. I just meant I wish I could always have a room here if I needed it. I'd never learn anything if I stayed in here the whole time!"
Moira pulls another 5 gold out of the pouch. "Witt come on up to the room and we will have the food brought up." Turning back to Gus "If we could get a mix of the best the The Rose and Olive has to offer brought up I would really appreciate it. Make sure there is some good ale and wine as well please." Handing over the 5 gold.
Once the order details have been worked out she heads up stairs taking what ever bed is left over. She then hands 20 gold from the pouch to everyone keeping the remaining 13 for herself.
Nemeia's eyes go wide at the offering of gold. She quickly and graciously accepts the funds before stashing it into her coin purse. Her eagerness leads Moira to believe that the tiefling may already have purchase plans for the coin. "This place is wonderful,"Nemeia says as though it's her first time laying praise on the location.
9 nids to Moira, pocketing the gold, and starts acknowledging the beds and the view. She approaches one of the empty comfortable beds and rest her hand on it, before making a pushing motion to see how soft it is. Seeing her hand be almost consumed by the bed, she sighs and moves towards the extra bed that was brought in, putting her bag nearby. She lies down, appreciating the familiar discomfort of a simple bed. Slightly tilting her head, 9 observes the street, waiting for some food to arrive.
Nemeia seems to be brimming with excitement. "I wonder if there is a tinker's guild here in town. I bet there is. I bet there might even be an artificer willing to teach me a thing or two given the time. I bet this castle has everything. Once we've eaten, I'm planning to explore a bit if anyone is interested. I doubt we find much trouble here if we don't cause much noise."
As they converse and wait for the food to arrive, Sora lies down on one of the couches in the main room of the suite, playing with one of her daggers in her hand. "I definitely wanna explore this town if we get a chance. There's a couple of things I want to look for out there. But before that, I gotta ask, anyone else curious about what job this Duke guy wants to offer us? And actually while we're at it, what the hell are we gonna call this little group of ours?"
Nemeia shrugs. "Seems like he's got a fair bit of money to offer us. That money could be well spent on supplies and equipment. I've seen you all handle quite a lot already. Surely whatever he's wanting done is going to be easier work than what we've done already. I mean, remember that giant snake we killed? Crazy,"she says as she reflects back on the encounter.
Witt follows Moira up to the room, and inspects the three bedrooms, finding none of them to his satisfaction. He settles onto one of the couches in the main room and starts to unpack. I'll be here, if that's okay. This thing, and he pats the couch, is like a double bed anyway. I suppose they might have halfling rooms, but I don't want to get separated. I feel... I dunno. Cities, right? Never the safest place to be.
He catches part of Sora and Nemeia's conversation about the Duke and his job offer. Curious? Not really. The guy doesn't seem like the nicest sort. I'm sure we can find something that pays but is also really helpful and important, and nothing to do with politics. He shudders at the thought. Do you really want to take him on? I mean, I don't mind I guess. I'll leave it up to you.
A name? I think 'Summer's Reason' is a great choice. It makes me think of crops growing in the bright summer days, which makes me think of home. There's always a good reason for summer, after all. And maybe if we do lots of good, people will associate us with nice things like long warm summer days. Yes, Summer's Reason is great. He frowns. That is what you said, right?
9 doesn’t move, continuing to look from the window. “Didn’t the Duke invite us to dinner this evening? He said to come if we wanted more job. I doubt that we will find anything that is unrelated to politics in this city. Seems to be the general theme of things here.”
Sora nodded along as he listened to Witt expanding on his thoughts, "I mean I guess that's one way to look at it, but I'm pretty sure Moira wrote down Summer's Treason. At least I thought I saw a 'T' in there somewhere. Still I kinda like the name, but I'm not too particular either way." She flipped her dagger up in the air then caught it by the handle before looking over at Witt on the other couch. "And to be clear, I'm absolutely sure that Duke is not a nice guy. Which is why I wanna know more about what kind of job he has for us. No one's agreeing to any job here, but I do want to know what a guy like him is willing to pay a bunch of strangers for. There's a lot of shit going on in this town right now and he's definitely the sort to take advantage of it. Also to be completely up front, there's one other thing. I'm looking for someone that I think ran this way, and I'd be curious if the Duke has any information on this person."
Nemeia shrugs, "Everyone has skeletons. It's just a matter of the count. We should at least hear him out. If it doesn't sit right, we can politely decline his offer and move on. I'm not sure working for the crown would be any more with the rumors running about. If everyone's hands are dirty, maybe we side with the one paying the best?"
Nemeia doesn't seem to be too strong on her convictions in regards to who the group should work with. It's more important to her that the group sticks together in their choice. They'd been through so much already and didn't want to lose anyone due to personal conflicts with the jobs. She also thought there would be good coin in whatever they did as their skills deserved to be paid well. The extra coin could help fund her research and even allow her to open up her own shop some day. That was a long way away though. She was still young and wanting to explore the world to learn its secrets before settling down and opening up shop.
Nemeia looks at Sora with interest. "Tell me more about this friend of yours you think ran this way. If I know more details, I can look for them while exploring tomorrow."
Sora chuckled a bit at Nemeia's statement, "No friend of mine, I'm sure. It's a job I picked up in Lynansera on the way to Greymeadow. There's some nasty piece of work elf that escaped the Glyphwood and headed north right into this kingdom. Sure as hell wasn't in Greymeadow, but some of the people I talked to there might have seen someone heading north, so this seems the most likely spot to find this person."
At that moment there is a knock on the door to the suite and past that you find a pair of the inn's servers each with a finely crafted metal cart with a large assortment of covered plates atop of them. After they are let in they quickly set about placing all of the plates they brought with them on the large dining table in the middle of the main room. Once all of the plates are placed they quickly uncover them all, finishing up with placing some added plates and utensils for personal use. Within moments you see a grand feast laid out before you. As it turned out, 5 gold buys a lot of high quality food, even including the tip it covered a large assortment of quality freshly cooked meals for the whole group. This is not the most luxurious food imaginable, of course, but it is still very well made with good ingredients creating a warm and delicious spread of meats, grains, vegetables, cheeses, and other such stables of a quality meal.
Once the feast is laid out the servers collect their things and carts and head out of the room just as quickly as they arrived, wishing everyone an enjoyable dining experience before leaving you to your meal.
Nemeia thanks the servers and finds a spot at the table. She had been quite hungry for some time now but the excitement of the new town had masked that feeling. She gathers a bit of the various helpings making sure to have a wide variety on her plate. She's digging into the meal almost forgetting she had company around the table.
”I think we should find out what he wants too? If we don’t like it we just say no. Besides I am sure there are lots of interesting things to do here. The right path is sure to show up.”
Sora's eyes went a bit wide with hunger as the looked over all of the food that had been brought in, quickly getting up from the couch and grabbing a plate which she started filling up quickly, "Wow they weren't kidding about this place, this is impressive! Thanks so much Moira!" Sora is already stuffing food in her mouth as she nods along with what Moira was saying, gulping down her latest mouthful before responding, "Sounds like we can all agree to at least hear this guy out. ... Also, while we're at it, it sounds like we're good with Summer's Treason as our group name unless anyone's got objections still?"
Witt is busy consuming a very large plate of fried vegetables and meat, noisily slurping and chewing his way through some excellent beef. He half-hears Sora, and nods. Sure, the name's fine. And I don't mind hearing what the Duke says, but I really don't want to work for him. I'll leave the talking to you guys. He dives into the next plate of cheese and toasted breads.
Though Cali doesn't require nourishment like a traditional beast would, Nemeia offers her small bits to grind in her teeth. "If we do have some free time though, I'd love to explore this place a bit. There is so much that I need to study and I'm sure I can find some amount of that information here. I don't want to trouble you all with joining me for some boring learning so Cali and I could go by ourselves. I'm sure this place isn't so dangerous that we'd have any issues."
