9 grunts, as she nimbly moves out of the shadow’s reach and starts running along the wall using her full movement. While she is running, her form almost seems to dissolve in fog and feathers as she appears right behind Linthe, her hand reaching for the elf’s throat. “Time to be punished”

Seeing 9 rush off to take down the other elf Sora turns her focus to the demonic shadow creature. "Guess I'll play with the big guy." Sora calls out as she steps forward to attack the thing made of shadow. With each step she grows larger, along with each of her swords in hand, towering over everyone else. She moves to place herself as best she can between the demon and everyone else before striking it with her empowered and enlarged sword swing.

If I don't see the shadow demon, Sora will instead use her action to activate her Necrotic Shroud. She will try to get as close to where she thinks the creature is hoping to hit it with the initial fear effect.

Kal mutters something under his cowl just as the shadowy creature strikes at him. The demon's first attack shattering fragments of an arcane shell like glass but missing Kal. The second attack however destroys the barrier completely and rakes across his chest. Kal brings a hand to his chest to clutch at the wound. Before he could retaliate the creature disappears into the shadows. 

Wincing in pain but not out of the fight yet he sets his sights on Linthe herself. As he takes a step towards the sinister woman, Sora steps up behind Kal and startles him horribly with a display of violent necrotic magics. Shaken by the gruesome visage he turns and effectively flees from his ally!

"Your vile treachery will have to end now it seems." Kal says somewhat low in regards to Linthe. He reaches out and makes a clutching gesture. Golden energy in the form of chains leap from the stone ground and attempt to bind Linthe where she stands.

Witt's spiritual scythe slices through the dark creature next to Kal, causing it to hiss in annoyance as it moved away into the depths of the surrounding darkness. By the time he fired his arrow at the demon it was already gone, lost in shadow.

As Sora stepped towards where the Shadow Demon might be, massive, terrifying, skeletal shaped wings of pure blackness grow out of her back, as her eyes are filled with the same terrible void. For a moment it seemed as if the shadows themselves recoil from her frightful presence. 

The sight is enough to force Kal to turn away and focus on Linthe instead, running to the back of the cavern where she was standing calling forth arcane power to bind her. In response she scowls back at Kal, refusing to let the spell take hold though the power of her will. 

However 9 was right behind Kal, walking through shadows on raven wings, she appeared in a semi-translucent state behind Linthe. Reaching out she placed her hand against Linthe's back trying to deliver Death's verdict. However her spell was blocked by the metal armor she can now feel underneath Linthe's coat. 

Enemy Turn

With a snarl, Linthe bats away 9's hand with her shield before clutching at a pendant around her neck calling out vile words in the name of Cyirith before turning an evil gaze to both 9 and Kal. 

9 and Kal'Duros need to make a DC 15 CHA save or be under the effects of Bane

She then shouts infernal commands down to the other end of the cavern, where the shadows hiss in response. The shadow demon soon emerges from the darkness to try to take a swipe at Sora, who seems to be completely blocking its path currently. However this time the creature seems less like the terrible demon that attacked before, and more like a terrified cornered animal lashing out in desperation.

As before once it makes its strike, the demon slinks away into the shadows, taking advantage of the nearby darkness to hide from sight.

Worried by how little he can see, Witt moves north, and a little east, to try to see where Kal has gone.  He stands, in the glowing light of his magically illuminated bow, a very very obvious target.  And he readies an arrow to shoot the shadow demon thing, if it appears again:

Meanwhile his spiritual weapon just hovers, useless without a clear target.

As 9 feels her body weakening, she musters what little divine magic is left in her and bring down a booming volume of pressure on Linthe.

Sora grits her teeth hard as she feels the demon's claws seemingly dig into her mind painfully. But she steadies her resolve and swings at the vile creature as it tries to slip away from her.

Shaking her head to clear her mind from the previous attack she then carefully searches the room for the shadow demon in an attempt to push the attack. As she does so she slides her arm against her chest, and a set of celestial runes glow is a soft blue light. She feels the surge in power as she prepares to strike the second she sees the creature.

Kal glowers at the witch as she throws spells at himself and 9. He shakes the recent chill that Sora had washed over him with her necrotic visage and takes a slow but gathering step forward. As he slips forward in an increasing speed he pulls a wooden, bladeless hilt from his belt. It is simple but finely crafted. It is rare he calls upon this specific piece of his past as it is undeniably a magic he cannot explain as gadget or trickery.

With a flick of his wrist shadow and grey-silver arcane energy coalesces down his arm and onto the hilt. Just as he gets to Linthe he sweeps the hilt upward as if to attack her with a diagonal strike of a non-existent sword. The blade appears just barely perceptible in the dim cave. A sleek edge of inky shadow and sharp lines. At the same time the green-gold fire from earlier dances up this nearly invisible blade to wash over the elven villian.

Sora's blade cuts through the living shadow as it moves away from the light brought by Witt and hides in the darkness. This time however the terror coming from Sora's initial form had rattled it enough that its movements were a bit less subtle. Just unsubtle enough, in fact, for Sora's black slicked eyes to catch it moving in the darkness. By then Witt's arrow had found a piece of its shadow flesh. Sora moved up to the creature in the dark, slashing against it with an even more powerful blow. However it was clear that this shadow demon was easily shrugging off the effects of their attacks to some degree. They were clearly hurting it, but not nearly as much as they would have hoped as its shadowy form easily resisted the physical attacks against it.

On the other side of the cave, 9 retaliated against Linthe with an incredibly loud, thunderous attack which clearly rattled the elf opponent to the point where she had to brace her head with her hands from the loud pain that slammed against her. Kal was quick to take advantage of the situation as the sudden, nearly invisible blade wreathed in eldritch flames, moved quickly with deadly finesse and accuracy to strike Linthe from behind.

Enemy Turn

Crying out in equal part of pain, rage, and frustration, Linthe is forced to take a brief moment in an attempt to heal her wounds. Gripping her holy symbol tightly she narrows her eyes on 9 before reaching out, her entire arm covered in black and read ominous smoke, to try to grip the other elf.

9: You are no longer under the effect of Bane

Recovering from the shot of terror it had experienced, the shadow demon glared back at Sora as it taunted her, "How pathetic, you fallen child, do you feel such an audacious display of your curse will make you anything like my kind? Let me show you what true terror is." Immediately it lashed out again with a violent display of rage.

Kal strikes with fluid motion bringing the shadowy sword across Linthe's shoulders. His grip reverses in a single motion and brings the sword down along the elven woman's spine. The return strike again bursts with gold-green flame.

With the shadow creature in her sights, Sora gives it an intimidating grin before unleashing relentless attacks against it in her empowered state.

As 9’s life force is sapped from her, the grey sparks electrifying her surroundings bolt towards Linthe. Almost simultaneously with that, 9 tries to reach in once more and grab Linthe with her necrotic judgement.

With the tide of battle beginning to turn in their favor, the group unleashes their attacks against these two villains. Sora and Witt keep grinding down the demonic shadow creature before them now that he is visible. However its unearthly resilience still allows it to shrug off most of the damage it's been receiving. By contrast 9 and Kal continue seriously hurting Linthe, who manages to avoid more hits but is not nearly as tough as her demon ally. 

In fact, the evil elf looks visibly shaken and hurt after the constant beating she has received in such a short amount of time. A look of desperation crosses her eyes as she realizes how close to death these heroes have brought her. Changing tactics completely, there is a sudden flash of light that surrounds her, and in that instant she appears down the hall from where she was before, halfway between the two groupings of the party. She take advantage of the moment to heal her wounds as much as her magic would allow in such a short amount of time before turning and running towards the entrance of the cave, clearly desperate to escape now.

The shadow demon, however, doesn't seem to have any room to escape, nor does it seem particularly interested in doing so. However Sora's larger form means she is now completely blocking the only path from the room it's in, leaving it no choice but to attack the enlarged fallen creature before it.

(Linthe used misty step to escape melee, so there is no opportunity to attack)

Witt directs his spiritual weapon to keep chipping away at the demon creature:

He looks at the fleeing Linthe, and rather uncomfortably he speaks the word he was taught, to cast the spell he was taught:  GROVEL!! (Command).

9 will use her ful movement and a dash to get as close to Linthe as possible.

”We will chase her, you join us after the shadow is dead.”, she says to Sora and Witt, hoping that she won’t need to run after Linthe.

"I got this. Get her!" Sora calls out over her shoulder as she squares off against the demon. Blocking its most recent attack she swings both of her weapons in retaliation trying to take out the tough opponent.

Kal smirks and takes off after Linthe. About half way in the chase he makes a short hop as if to twirl into a strike at nothing. The Eladrin bursts into mist that quickly freezes and falls like snow. A moment of his form captured where he stood. Immediately after, he reappears next to Linthe  mid slash. Mist and ice scattering from his form as he brings the shadowy blade across the elven woman as if to cleave her head off at the neck.

Bonus: Eladrin Misty Step

Linthe cries out in pain from Kal's last strike, now looking extremely battered and bloodied. Solely focused on escaping, she barely spends any time trying to close her wounds as she rushes out of the cave as quickly as she can move.

Between Witt's spectral scythe and Sora's relentless sword swings, the shadow demon's form was becoming more and more shredded. Slowly but surely the attacks chipped away at its form until finally Sora's last swings tore it to the point it could no longer remain intact. However it didn't cry out in pain nor anger, it didn't scream or howl in any way at its defeat. Instead it was laughing.

"It seems my little pleasure trip is over now." It spoke to Sora as it began to unravel, "It was a deliciously entertaining battle. There is a great darkness inside you, sweet and terrible. What a pleasure it was to taste to memories, festering inside you. I look forward to out next meeting whenever that might come. Try not to die before then." By then the shadow form of its body had completely dissipated and melted into the darkness, ceasing to exist on this plane.
