”I just need a brooch to make my cloak seem a little more presentable”, she addresses the shopkeeper browsing the place herself for anything similar to her wishes.
The shopkeeper nodded at 9, happy to serve such a simple request, and quickly showed her a range of brooches of various styles and costs that would fit well with her outfit.
Meanwhile back at Krin's workshop the artificer happily continued conversing with Nemeia about all manner of things."That gala is the only dinner party happening that's worth a bother tonight. You managed to get an invite too? Well, not sure if I want to go. No matter how many requests I get from those blue bloods, it's never really been my cup o' tea, if that's the right saying. Plus with all the craziness happening with the royals lately it's probably not gonna be a fun time like the previous year."
As she continued discussing and listening to Nemeia's thoughts and requests she eagerly gave out her own technical suggestions and data.
"Sounds like you need a firearm. Fun little toys aren't they?" Knrin grins as she reaches under her table and pulls out a large custom built hand cannon. A long barrel at one end and a customized trigger grip on the other. An intricate firing mechanism in between that had an articulately shaped cylinder with bolt sized holes drilled at even intervals in a hexagonal pattern. The huge hand pistol seemed almost comically large in the small gnome's hand but she still had no issue wielding the weapon in a single hand. She showed off her own artificer enhancements on the device to allow similar level of arcane ammunition loading."These things are amazing and powerful, but incredibly deadly and dangerous. Get a normal one and you gotta carry around little explosive cannonballs everywhere you go. Even then the things are temperamental as shit. Get unlucky and the thing's as likely to blow up in your face as hurt the other guy. Even with my modifications I can manage the ammunition problem. But forcing the amount of magic energy needed into a small bullet then pushing it through the barrel in a very deliberate and accurate vector is tricky even under ideal conditions. Misfires are still an issue even with the best construction. Not to mention they're loud as ****. Great toys but most people aren't willing to deal with the hassle.Figure it's only a matter of time till someone can refine the detailed fabrication methods needed to make these things more reliable."
Well, it's very expensive, but I suppose I'll get some use from it. Perhaps this is the first of many galas. Witt hands over ten gold, looking not too thrilled at spending so much on something like this. He heads to the changing area, and then back in his normal clothes and in the main room, he sits and watches as the others get on with their purchases.
Sora picked up Witt's gold quickly before he walked off, if possible, "One sec, we have to make sure we're all spending the right amount for everyone involved." Gathering up all of the orders from that day, except for Moira's and 9's who insisted on paying full price, Sora leaned into the half-elf shopkeeper in a very friendly manner. "We truly, deeply appreciate all of your wonderful expert assistance. And as you can see we've already brought you quite a bit of business already. I know we're asking for a lot, but I also know this is quite a bit of coin you've managed to earn already. I think it's not fair to ask for a decent discount seeing as we're such lovely customers. What do you say?"

The shopkeeper chuckled as he and Sora finalized the price for all of the purchases that day, retrieving the rest from Sora,"Well you all are a very interesting bunch. It should be amusing having you at the Royal gala tonight. Don't worry, I should have the alterations finished long before then. Everyone's already purchased their dress for the evening so I shouldn't have any other work to concern myself today. Be sure to let people at the gala know where you got your finery should the opportunity arise."
Lynn-Marie curtsies gracefully, "Thank you, kind sir." She is impressed by Sora, and gives her a scrutinizing look as they exit the clothier's shop. Not only had she chosen her words well, the intonation had a near-perfect mixture of sweet innocence, flirtation and unwavering business-minded coldness that she hoped to achieve some day. "You would make a good tradeswoman, Sora." she says, doing her best to keep her tone neutral. "Do any of you need further assistance with anything? I have nothing else planned for the day, but I would also be fine simply waiting for you at the inn."
As they leave the shop, Witt looks around for a market or shops where he might find the other things he wants (books and painting supplies). Should we call you 'Captain' now? Captain?
Before we leave the shop I ask the proprietor "Could we have this all delivered to the "Sturdy Unicorn" when it is finished. Or will we need to do a final fitting?"
"Ugh, no, no 'Captain', just stick with Sora." she immediately replies to Witt's comment with a shudder. Looking back at Lynn she nods back at her as they talk, "Thanks, but I could never be a merchant. No offense, it's just not the life for me. Still you were really helpful back there, thank you! If you wanna join us, you're more then welcome to. Heck no reason we couldn't go to the gala as a group. For now, I think we still got a bit more shopping to do."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Khorzik gets his dress uniform of House Zehir cleaned and repaired. He takes a "soldier's bath" and heavily applies some fragrance to overpower any smell left. He stows his travelling gear is his room and waits on the rest of the party do things his vast intelligence will never understand. He eventually gets bored, and begins feeling ill-prepared for the mission. He spends the day asking around about the gala, the queen, Count Hakon, and the building that will house the gala. If time permits, he goes to scout the location.
He will use disguise self intermittently to lessen the impact of one strange person asking a lot of questions, and invisibility if he thinks he is being followed.
Nemeia smiles about Krin's stance on the gala. "My friends and I saved Greymeadow from a bullywug invasion after dealing with a group of goblins that had taken control of the local mines. We received word that we were to receive some sort of reward for our accomplishments." She smiles as she recalls her successes with the team. "What blue bloods are hounding you about coming to the gala? I've heard there's some drama in court but haven't really heard what's going on. Just got into town yesterday so I have a lot to catch up on. Why do you think it won't be as fun? Sounds like I should have tried going to last year's gala!," she says with a grin.
Nemeia stares in wonder at the contraption that Krin has placed on the table. She does her best to try and understand the design and intricacies that allow it to operate as described by Krin. "That's exactly what I want,"Nemeia blurts out in reference to the future design posibilities. "Loud isn't really a problem when dealing with giant snakes in the swap but I could imagine it being an excessive volume if fired indoors. I would love to study your work and perhaps attempt to craft my own as I find the parts and coin to make that happen. Maybe I can run my schematics by you as I go since you have a fairly good grasp on the design."She thinks for a moment and says, "I bet I could get it to fire twice in quick succession if done properly."
Nemeia seems to forget about any preparations necessary for the gala this evening as the two discuss something of far greater importance to her.
Krin looks up at Nemeia with a quirked eyebrow for a moment,"You're clearly not from around here. I'm talking about the Queen's death. It's really all everyone's been talking about in this damn town. Yeah, ... this was a nicer place when she was around. Don't imagine the gala will be much fun this time around with the shadow of her funeral still hanging over the castle."
She quickly, almost insistently, moved on to the more enjoyable topics of complex artificer schematics. Going back and forth with Nemeia about her own designs, offering bits of advice and guidelines from her own experiences. "You know Firearms aren't too rare among artificers these days. At least the idea of it, I mean. Just most folks don't wanna deal with them. But if you like I can give you some basic blueprints. Since you're dealing with a much more compact and dense projectile compared to even a crossbow bolt, I'm sure you can get it firing even quicker then that. Of course, I'm talking theory mostly. You'd still have to engineer a solution around the core instability problems. Or just deal with them when they inevitably come up."
Nemeia does her best to play coy regarding the rumors swirling around of the Queen's untimely death. "That does sound awful. Does anyone know the cause of her death? I'm sure she had very capable physicians that could care for her."
Sensing Krin's quick shift away from the topic. Nemeia decides to not press further. "The blueprint would be most appreciated. To have a good starting point always helps and experimenting in the design is half the fun of this profession so long as it's done safely."She laughs at the idea of anything she works on actually being safe to those that aren't trained in their micro adjusting springs and gears systems. "I like you,"Nemeia says in a passing comment. "I wish you were part of Summer's Treason. We could work on so many things together."Nemeia looks back at the shop and the smile fades a bit. "But you've already got this nice shop and all so I guess you don't really need a bit of adventure in your life."
At some point during their walk through the city, Kal would clear his voice at a break in conversation. "Who should I be assigned to at the gala? If I am to pretend to be an aid or guard I should probably know more about the person I am with in case I am questioned. Unless I am mistake about my role..."
Sora thought about Kal's question very briefly before she responded, "Then I'd say you should pair up with Khorzik. You know him best so you two can probably pull it off pretty easily."
"You are welcome to stay with me if you'd like. I plan on staying at the gala though. Also I don't really know what it is I am hoping to accomplish. Lynn-Marie might be a good person as she seems to be more comfortable already in high society. What are your and Khorzik's specialties?"
Kal looks over to Khorz, "Khorz has explained the utility of his magical abilities but he is also extremely clever. He would be able to suss out information better than I, should we go routing through offices and old letters."
He straightens a bit, "As for myself. Beyond being able to help get us through a fight, I can provide a hub of communication as long as everyone stays within one hundred feet or so of me. This way the group of us could communicate privately and hopefully use our combined efforts to keep watch over the gala so the other are not revealed."
The swordsman would then pull his cowl over the lower half of his face and begin relaying messages between the party members to help them understand the nuance of this type of communication.

Rolling her eyes and giving Sora an exacerbated look Moira stands to the side not saying anything and watching sternly.
