Torvin looks to the party and says: "should we approach the gates and request entry?"

Skorn slows down as he approaches the gates. Let us catch our breath before approaching. The guards may not take kindly to strangers running towards them in the mist.

Manneo - Looking the place over to see if the group is a militia, raiding party, or regulated forces? He says to Ireena, "What do you know of these people?"

Mr. Greenleaf- As soon as Skorn decides it's safe and time to approach Flyn will make his way up with him and when they're about 10' from them "Hey let us in."

You see two helmets on the other side approaching what looks to be bars in a window on the gate. One of them says "Ehhh who approaches the Mourning Gate?"

 They are just regular force for the town

Skorn steps forward. Greetings, friends! We are strangers to this land, brought here by some strange magic. All we seek is some food for our stomachs and a bed for our weary legs. May we enter your town?

Skorn will also show off an insignia he produces from his pack, showing off a rank of Captain.

The guards stand at attention and say " Well right then sir, yes sir the Blue Water Inn is what you'll need, take the main street about 120 ft down the road. In the middle by the square." The gates open for you all. Ireena can't help but feel a sense of safety and relief.

As Skorn walks through, he sidesteps, letting the others pass, and speaks to the guard that let them in. Thank you, soldier. That woman has been through quite a bit. I would consider it a personal favor if your men could ensure these walls do not get breached tonight.

They stand straight at attention and say "Yes sir!", and you guys head on down the street. Along the main path you see to your left a large stockyard. This large stockyard has several locked sheds along its periphery and lies adjacent to a roomy warehouse. A wooden sign above the front gate reads “Arasek Stockyard.”

Are there lots of people inside the walls? Do they seem to be in better condition than Ireena and her brother (well fed, clothing and housing in better condition)?

4 Medicine

You don't see many people on the main road, you can see a couple people ahead of where your at but your about 80 ft from the main square.

As you guys walk further in to town you see the square. 

The shops and homes that enclose the town square are decorated with limp, tattered garlands and painted wooden boxes filled with tiny, dead flowers. At the north end of the square stands a row of stocks, locked in which are several men, women, and children wearing crude, plaster donkey heads.

In the center of the square, peasants in patchwork clothes eye you suspiciously as they use cups and vases to draw water from a crumbling stone fountain. Standing tall at the center of the fountain is a gray statue of an impressive man facing west. All around the square are posted proclamations: Come one, come all,

to the greatest celebration of the year:

THE WOLF’S HEAD JAMBOREE!

Attendance and children required.

Skorn looks around, baffled. The Wolf's Head...what is going on here? Ireena, I mean no disrespect to your homeland, but 'tis a strange place.
