Torvin hears the soft flapping sound of wings, but can’t discern its origin. A single piece of parchment blows off the top of a bookshelf, spirals lazily in the air, and lands gently at his feet.
The letter says " My knights have fallen, and this land is lost. The armies of my enemy will nit be stopped by sword or spell, claw or fang. Today, I will die, not avenging those who have fallen, but defending that which I love- this valley, this home, and the ideals of the Order of the Silver Dragons. The evil surrounds me, The time has come to throw off this guise and show these heathens my true fearsome form. Let it spark terror in their hearts! Let them tell heir stories of dark triumph against the protector of the Balinok Mountains! Let Argynvost be remembered as a dragon of honor and valor. My one regret is that my remains will not lie in the right place, in the hallowed mausoleum of Argynvostholt. No doubt my bones will be scattered away among my enemies like the coins of a plundered hoard, trophies of a hard-won victory. I do not fear death. Though my body will die, my spirit will live on. Let it serve as a beacon of light against the darkness. Let it bring home to a land wrought with despair.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gwyllen limps a bit, following Torvin into the room and starts inspecting the torn painting for clues and to see what the painting depicts. She moves on from there to check the chair, looking under the cushion and base and digs around in the ashes of the fireplace with her spear.
Perception / Investigation -7 /15
She hears the parchment blow toward and turns to look - "What do you have, Tor?"
She inspects the book case for any spell or history books as well while he reads the letter.
Skorn shakes his head sadly. Then your honor is well and truly lost. You could reclaim it yourself, had you but an ounce of compassion. Undeath has robbed you of this. I am sorry for your lot. He motions for Manneo to join and goes to the others in the other room.

Gwyllen cocks an eyebrow - "Well, that answers my question. Mayhaps Argynvost will show itself if we remind him of this vow to be a Beacon of Light. If this one here won't help, maybe 'A' will. Maybe we should return to his tomb momentarily and discover if we are able to speak with him."
OOC: Okay. Time out. I am utterly lost these posts are flying faster than I remember them and I am having a difficult time keeping up. Is there some notification system that I am missing that you guys are lightning speeding these posts?

As you say this the picture over the mantle starts to glow. The picture shows the mansion in better days, under clear winter skies with snow-capped mountains in the background. The top of the chapel tower glows like a silver beacon.
Gwyllen walks back to the picture, noticing the details, and can’t help but wonder if her words had something to do with the change. “Look at how magnificent this place was before all this” she calls to the others.
She takes tentatively reaches up to the painting, and places her hand on it, palm flat against the canvas –“Argynvost, what are you telling us? We are here to cleanse this place. Speak to us.”

The beacon in the picture flashes with a brilliant silver light, and the spectral form of a huge silver dragon fills the room. “My skull lies in the fortress of my enemy,” it says, “displayed in a place of ill omen. Return my skull to its rightful crypt, and my spirit will shine here forever, bringing hope to this dark land.” With that, the dragon’s apparition fades away.
Skorn looks around, bewildered. So, he wants us to go to Strahd's castle? And bring back a dragon skull?
Manneo - Having heard Skorn he says, "That's easier said than done. We need help fighting Strahd now, not something to do when it's all said and done."
