The two poles are pushed, but one side is working better than the other, the ship slowly rotating in place. The waters appear to get agitated near the bottom of the ship.
(@PokePaladdy: I am /so/ sorry. I saw the post, and thought I was waiting on something more, but totally forgot what it was now. x_x;)
If Tefkae could but scowl, they might've at the silliness of it all. Be things as it may, the stopped trying to move the boat to look around. "Continue to try to move the oar. I wish to try something."They ask of Zack, but do not wait for a reply prior to walking a bit further south, throwing the occasional glance over the side of the ship before find one closer to the bow of it.
From there, they fire off a shot from Ms. Salt into the waters just close enough to hopefully clip whatever held the ship true from the underside... assuming it was a -big- something. If that's not enough, a few more of the neverending bullets are loosed for good measure, followed by them taking a moment to wait and reassess things. "Captain... This will be a big ask, but do you have at least one spare barrel of smoke powder in the hull? If not, then... this may be where we part company for a time."

(Sorry it's been slow. Having to adapt to things given the current climate. I'll try and get some posting done this weekend.)
The giff looks to the robotic crewman. "If I had any additional powder I would never be in such a bad predicament. All I have is one pouch for personal use." He tells Tefkae.
The waters seem to agitate in the area, hastening ripples after the gunfire into its surface. It is hard to tell exactly what is going on, but the current seems to begin spinning, like a whirlpool. People may make Intelligence (Arcana) checks if they so wish.
Zack continues to do what Tefkae says. However, he is not entirely convinced that the source of these erratic currents is something that can be shot. The attack on the water produced some interesting results.
"Hn... I may have erred." They stated aloud as the whirlpool grew into being. Even despite the possible error, Tefkae regarded the change in almost too patient and scholarly pacing, instead of apparent recognition of danger. "All may wish to brace themselves now."The construct at least added, if somewhat after the fact.

"well, that didn't work like I had hoped" Ankor looks over the side again at the water after trying to push off with the pole. He's feeling a little uncertain about himself after his poor performance.
What is happening could be one of many things. For example, there could be angered water weirds, or water elementals, within the river that are not happy with the party. However, it does not feel like that is the case, it is more likely a geographical phenomena similar to the control water spell, but is affecting the river directly. Something that can control the area in such a way must be sufficiently powerful enough to lord it over anything else in the area that has been seen up to this point, so if the group does get in a fight, they must be wary of something that could be a powerful spellcaster.
"Tefkae there seems to be something controlling the flow of the river and it might be close by can you send Mr. Pepper out to survey the area?"He turns to the hunter "Have you any knowledge of someone or thing that can control the elements?"
"Captian is there a way to anchor in place until we can figure this out, where ever this water is pushing us to may not be where we want to end up!"

"Unfortunately our vessel didn't come with a viable anchor less we use the first mate and some rope!" Cpt. Obaysch tells Tefkae.
The Huntress looks over the waters. "I've never seen anything like this. The waters I see in the mists when hunting are always still. It has to be something with you lot."
"I can, but do not expect significant results in this mist."Tefkae forewarns as they turn to the Tressym. Mr. Pepper meowls at least one last complaint before taking off into the air well above the ship, and make ever increasingly wide search patterns; even going so far as to leave immediate visual range of others in her search. "Likely, as it is unlikely that many choose this route. Unfortunate that none of us have come prepared with the capability of dispelling such phenomenon."The constructs frankly stated, prior to turning their full attention towards seeing and stimulating their familiar's senses.

"Hmm" Ankor scowls "Tefkae if the mists are too dense to see call Mr. Pepper back. Captain Obaysch give me a hand I think one more good push with the poles is worth a try. see where that gets us. if nowhere than I'm afraid our departure from this place will have to wait."
Ankor grabs the pole once more and with the captain's help attempts to push the ship along the waters.
Apologies, last week was really busy and I've been burning the candle at both ends, trying to keep work during this time and be there for family/friends. I know I neglected to update here, it just slipped from my list of things to do.
Between the group the ship is slowly pushes away from the choppy waters. "We'll have to tether ourselves to the bank!" The captain informs the group. "Find out what is going on here."
The Hunter takes out what appears to be a small pile of herbs from a pouch beneath her cloak and grinds a bit between her fingers before applying it beneath her eyelids. "Keep your guard up, I think there's more enemies in the mists on their way."
Mr. Pepper begrudgingly takes off into the air and scours the nearby vicinity. There doesn't appear to be anything invisibly nearby at first, but then the familiar sees it, something shrouded off in the distance, a lone eye staring at the scene.

Ankor grabs one of the ship's ropes and looks for something along the shore to tie off to. "What gives you that impression Hunter?"
investigation : 20 to look for something to tie off to.
Once relayed, Tefkae breaks out the copper wire and whispers into it a message for Ankor and Zack. As they are busy processing that, they then coordinate with Mr. Pepper. Angle, distance, obstacles -- Whatever Mr. Pepper gleams, Tefkae takes into account while adjusting her position on the ship. And if within 120ft, the construct -- without even looking in their target's direction -- lets out a curt, "Fire in the hole"just moments before loosing a bolt of fire towards the eye from opened finger tips.
"In answer, Ankor, is because your findings were proven true in part. Some form of spy has been noted. Continuing monitoring procedure..."

Ankor spots an old withered trunk of a tree that can be tethered to, the ship just a short hop across to the bit of land.
"I've been hunting them for most of my life, I can tell." The Hunter informs the group. "There, look!"
Like before, the shroud of mist by the bank seems to coalesce into more forms. These ones appear to be more like beasts of water and sky; some look like enormous birds, the others like some sort of large piranha.
"Winged ones are more fragile, but fast. The others have strong close bites." The Hunter informs the group.
Tefkae's readied Explosive Round is thrown out. You may choose your target.
Everyone is aboard the ship, which has a 10 foot gap between the starboard bough and the bank at the moment. Captain Obaysch is at the helm, and Eight-Bit is below deck. The rest are on deck, wherever you feel appropriate.
The mist beasts have appeared, the two eagles in the sky, about 25 feet away, and the piranhas are at the port side of the ship, appearing 10 feet away from the deck.

(@DM: Loosing the explosive Round at Eagle #1)
Tefkae reflexively snaps of the shot at a bird. "Hesitation is the mind killer."She states, assuaging at least themselves as finger caps click back into place. Soon after, they try to analyze one of the eagles for a weak point. Whether they succeed or not, the pistol comes out, firing at the undamaged Mist Eagle. "Focus on those with the stronger bites, least they think to damage the ship."They call in warning as another bullet materializes in the chamber.
