If that meant going through a different way, such as an open wind or chimney, then it double times it there. But keeping in mind the spiders misfortune, it practically hugs the ceiling until it could find a high ledge purchase that appeared safe enough to rest for a second and keep Narz updated on the situation.
Narz isn't one to miss a beat, however. And despite Zack's command, upon seeing just how tough a foe the Lizardfolk were up against, he would join the melee with his hawk zooming over head to claw at the face of at least one guard become in came the hammer alight with silver flame.

Claire hesitated a moment before advancing with the others, looking down at the body of v10. While she's always willing a ready to defend herself, she's never landed a killing blow on another human, and realizes that if that her earlier Inflict Wounds had hit, she possibly would have killed v10 herself... and she may yet have to stain her hands just as the others have. She curls her hand back into a fist and resolves to reflect on that later as she rushes in. Seeing Rollo and the Lizardmen head upstairs to deal with the archers, Claire joins Zack by the door and lays a hand on his shoulder, a glow emanating from the contact as she heals the fighter.

"Mulkrip" -Hobgoblin Barbarian, Path of the Totem Warrior -Libertalia
New initiative as follows: Nadia, V11, V9, V6, V13, V7, LS 1-5, Zack, Crocs 1-4, v12, v3, LR, V15, V16, Rollo, V2, V4, Shaman, Narz, Claire, V14

Seeing that the situation outside was (mostly) handled, the ranger moves forward with Zack and the others to storm inside the keep, her healing spirit tagging along as well for some support. She directs it to stay beside Zack for the time being, seeing as he was a human pin cushion just a few seconds ago and probably needed a little more care alongside Claire's healing touch.
BA - Moving Healing Spirit - 2 uses left - Dip in it for 2 hp!
Nadia stows away her sword and takes out her bow once again to aim a few shots at the guards that had hurt the fighter!

Nadia fires arrows into the crowd of soldiers, managing to hit one as she beings to push forward. One of the guards draws her longsowrd and shortsword and turns to face Rollo. She fights in the same style as the apparent leader of the courtyard forces, a whirling dancing of stinging blades with quick attacks from all angles. One of these attacks strikes Rollo while another slashes across the face of one of the Crocs. Unfortunately for her it seems her footwork needs improvement as she trips over herself and falls to the ground. (Advantage against v11)
Back in the courtyard V9 continues to fight against the various Lizardfolk, this time focusing all his attacks against a single target. The first swing hits but is softened as L4 helps deflect the attack with his own sheild. The second attack is easily blocked by L1 himself. V6 continues to focus on the Lizardfolk In front of him, striking the warrior with two dangerous slashes to the chest despite V5s efforts to soften the blow.
Back inside, V13 draws his sword as the crocs appear next to him. Eager to be rid as many enemies as possible, he lashes out at the croc his commander had injured. With a single thrust of his sword through the beasts head the first croc dissapears as the magic connecting it to this world is severed. Switching his follow up on a new target the soldier tries to attack the next croc in line. Unfortunately for him the croc clamps down on the blade as it approaches, nearly taking fingers with it. The soldier avoid the bite and said loss of fingers but he'll have to wrestle his blade back from the croc.
Outside again V7 stands up and and let's out a cry of rage. With both hands on his sword he rushes the beast and slashes it across the chest. The Lizardfolk howls and falls to its knees in pain. It begins to find the strength to stand up again when with one clean and powerful cut the solders blade enters its neck and comes out clean on the otherside. The readers head tumbles to the ground as its body falls in the opposite direction. The soldiers in the courtyard let out a cry of victory as one of their foes falls.
Inside L3 turns to see the reaver has fallen and that, without aid his brothers in arms may fall as well leaving the party surrounded on all sides. He lowers his sheild from where it had protected Zack and looks to the shaman. The shaman nods and the sheildbearer turns back, charging the closest of the guards outside. His Morningstar is blocked by the soldiers armor but his bite however lands taking a small chunk of flesh from the guards arm.
The remaining warriors in the courtyard continue to press the attack, trying to finish off the moreninjures foes first. Unfortunately it seems moral has fallen, has many hits are blocked and even those that connect lack enough force behind them to fell even the weakest of foes.
Zack watches the pair leave, and nods in thanks, doubting they'd understand if he said thanks anyway - and he knew they had to do what they had to do. Focusing more on the present, and it seeming like his intention to slam the door down was moot, as Rollo was on the same level as him and was being attacked, he'd have to change focus. Seeing as there was another duel-wielding bastard who had conveniently opened themselves up to a heavier strike, Zack (if possible) moved in to take advantage of this before they could recover, to hopefully end one threat as soon as possible. Heading to V11 Zack has the same energy work on his blade that he had outside the courtyard, as a thundrous whirring begins to emanate, knowing the person would have to expend 15 ft of movement get up or risk more hits...
Going for another overhead chop since no other angle was available, Zack brings his blade down...

V13 has the unfortunate fate to get bit hard on both legs, causing him to loose balance and knocking him prone as well as grappled. The other soldier who was bit decides the easiest way to free himself is to kill the beast, and he thrusts his sword at the crocs face. The first attack strikes the croc clean through the skull and yet doesn't appear to be fatal. The croc hisses and let's go and the soldier finishes it off with another clean slash to the head. The croc goes limp and fades from existence.
Back outside the soldiers, emboldened by the defeat of their most terrifying enemy, begin their counter attack. V3 turns to face L3 who had just come back from aiding the party. The soldier feints an attack from the left then comes in on the right, slashing the Lizardfolk across the gut. The Lizardfolk bleeds heavily but finds the inner strength to keep standing. As the soldier comes in for a killing blow the Lizardfolk raises his sheild just in time to block the attack.
Back inside the soldiers look to Rollo and Zack, ready to launch a counter attack of their own. Dropping their crossbows they draw their longswords and attack their respective targets. The first soldier attempts to attack Zack with an overhead strike but the fighter easily dodges and in stroke of quick thinking brings his own sword down hard on the soldiers blade near the hilt. The blade snaps off, leaving V15 with just a hilt which he tosses aside. Zack notes the soldier does have a shortsword as a backup weapon though its sheathed for now.
Meanwhile the other soldier is not so unfortunate, landing two solid hits on Rollo though the attacks are hardly life threatening for the barbarian cleric.
Rollo pushes into the crowd of soldiers to attack the downed man, hitting him hard in the gut. Back outside the last two guards push from the stairs and into the crowd, one striking at the dying Lizardfolk who had saved Zack from taking the full hit from the arrows. The first attack is blocked by his sheild but low on strength he's unable to keep his sheild up to avoid the next attack. The soldiers sword slashes across his chest sending the sheildbearer collapsing to the ground. The other soldier tries to gang up on L1 but thankfully he is able to block both incoming attacks. The shaman, who hasn't left the entrance of the keep turns to see his alley fall so soon after turning back to aid the others. Angry, he conjures a whip made of a thorny vines and lashes out at V3. The thron whip wraps around the man's neck, choking him as the thorns press deeper into his flesh. It doesn't take long for the soldier to collapse as the throws press deeper and deeper, choking him of his lifes blood.

As something of a military humanoid, if albeit long ago, Narz could see the lines give way. Wisdom and Intelligence dictated falling back at this point. To reconsider the strategm and turn it against a clearly more veteran force. But he knew all to well the limitations of his position among them. And once the largest of them fell, as beings more tied by their instincts than strategy, it might not be long before those tied to survival dictated their next action.
Gritting his teeth behind closed lips, Narz silently accepted what was to come next. What needed to come, if they were to have any chances at all. He let out as bestial of a roar he could, and as hawk swooped in to claw at the face a foe, in came the hammer high and alight with silver flame. Flames that after scorching the chest of one foe would leap onto another, possibly finishing the job.
He then calls out in Draconic, "Hold fast! Do Not Let Them Break You! The seek to sow fear with their cheers! REMIND THEM WHY YOU ALL -ARE- FEAR! REMIND THEM THAT THE SCALED TOGETHER ARE STRONGER THAN THERE SOFT DELICIOUS FLESH! Starting with that one!" The maul is directed at V7.

Narz tries to rally the lizards but his words lack strength behind them when his own attack is parried with ease. Meanwhile Claire quickly attempts to recoup before continuing the fight. Up top the remaining soldier turns to face and attack Rollo. Luckily the Clerics armor is strong and blocks both attacks.

The soldier winces but otherwise seems relatively okay for now. The Captain risks standing, a loud thundering boom echoing through the halls as she does. Still she fights through the pain and launches another series of attacks against Zack and Rollo, hitting the fighter but missing the cleric. In another display of bad footwork she gets herself entangled with Zack and the pair fall over prone. The Captain lays there for a moment in silence and embarrassment before finally saying to Zack Sorry, always did have two left feet.
Back outside v9 and v6 continue to press the attack, seeing that the Lizards are loosing ground. V9 continues to engage L1 hoping to finish the weakening Lizardfolk while V6 lashes out at Narz. V9's first attack is parried but the follow up strikes the sheildbearer in the chest. He begins to bleed heavily and his knees grow weak but he remains in the fight for now. The Lizardolk looks around as if gaging an escape route but seeing just enemies between him and the exit he finds there's no choice but to fight to the exit.
V6 meanwhile turns his attention towards Narz who blocks the first blow with his hammer before side stepping around the second attack and following up with his maul, striking the solider hard in the side. The soldier has the wind knocked out of his for a moment and looks near ready to collapsing.
Back inside V13 is freaking out at having crocs biting both his legs. He desperately swings his sword at each of them, an awkward attempt at this angle. The first swing whiffs completely while he manages to his the second croc hard in the face but not enough to kill it.
Back outside V7 sees Narz calling him out as a challenge, and seeing his ally about to fall decides to move in to reinforce taking an Aoo from L1. The soldier tries to wave off the annoying bird as he approches Narz, taking a glancing blow from the sheildbearer in the process. Once in range of Narz he thrusts his sword forward but messes up his footing and missing wide. His second attack however is much more effective as he cuts into the Hobs leg.
L1, Unable to move without getting hit on all sides, doubles down on attack V9 desperste to finish off one enemy before falling himself. Unfortunately the pain is hard to fight through and his adrenaline is running out as he grows increasingly weaker. The only attack he manages to hit is merely another glancing blow, too weak to fell to otherwise dying soldier.
L2 likewise tries to finish off v6 before pushing forward to v7. Unfortunately his first attack misses entirely while the second is deflected
L4 takes advantage of V7 being distracted by Narz's familiar, managing to strike at least one blow against the solder. Meanwhile v5 tires to finish off v6 but failing that he turns on V7 and gets a glancing blow against the soldier

Struggle Snuggle Check: 15
Apparently taking a tumble with the queen of the fighters in the tumult, managing to catch himself on the floor before she spoke as he felt that slight sting that always followed a fall onto solid objects. And after he regains his senses and she says what she says, his initial thought is to attack, but.. he instead see's this as an opportunity to win the fight... Ah... That's a shame. was all he said in response before letting go of his sword to better embrace his new 'lover' and try to keep her down with him so she could become a hostage.

Zack tries to grab the Captain but she pushes him off her and to the side, turning the tables and pinning the fighter to the ground and holding him there. The odd scene is made odder as only a few feet away a soldier is yelling in pain and panic has two crocodiles chew on his legs like its KFC.
V12 tries to save his buddy by attacking the crocs monching on his legs. Despite hitting the beast he barely seems to harm it at all much to his friends dismay. V15 risks turning his back to Rollo to try and help as well but it seems all the guards inside the keep are incompetent, unable to hit or hurt anything despite their efforts.
V16 continues his attack on Rollo and in a break from tradition manages to just barely get through the clerics armor before following up with a second attack that is blocked with easy.

The shaman thankfully is more agile than he seems and he easily avoids both blows.
The shaman counters by muttering a quick spell, the armor on the soldier starting to glow red with heat and burning the guards skin. The Shaman quickly runs up to Claire and avoids a counterattack from V4. Turning to face the soldier again the Shaman simply stands there, eager to be near someone with a weapon.
Up top, as the shaman casts his new spell, the animals fade from existence has the shaman has to focus on maintaining his new spell.

Rollo pushes into the crowd of soldiers to attack the downed man, hitting him hard in the gut. Back outside the last two guards push from the stairs and into the crowd, one striking at the dying Lizardfolk who had saved Zack from taking the full hit from the arrows. The first attack is blocked by his sheild but low on strength he's unable to keep his sheild up to avoid the next attack. The soldiers sword slashes across his chest sending the sheildbearer collapsing to the ground. The other soldier tries to gang up on L1 but thankfully he is able to block both incoming attacks. The shaman, who hasn't left the entrance of the keep turns to see his alley fall so soon after turning back to aid the others. Angry, he conjures a whip made of a thorny vines and lashes out at V3. The thron whip wraps around the man's neck, choking him as the thorns press deeper into his flesh. It doesn't take long for the soldier to collapse as the throws press deeper and deeper, choking him of his lifes blood.

As something of a military humanoid, if albeit long ago, Narz could see the lines give way. Wisdom and Intelligence dictated falling back at this point. To reconsider the strategm and turn it against a clearly more veteran force. But he knew all to well the limitations of his position among them. And once the largest of them fell, as beings more tied by their instincts than strategy, it might not be long before those tied to survival dictated their next action.
Gritting his teeth behind closed lips, Narz silently accepted what was to come next. What needed to come, if they were to have any chances at all. He let out as bestial of a roar he could, and as hawk swooped in to claw at the face a foe, in came the hammer high and alight with silver flame. Flames that after scorching the chest of one foe would leap onto another, possibly finishing the job.
He then calls out in Draconic, "Hold fast! Do Not Let Them Break You! The seek to sow fear with their cheers! REMIND THEM WHY YOU ALL -ARE- FEAR! REMIND THEM THAT THE SCALED TOGETHER ARE STRONGER THAN THERE SOFT DELICIOUS FLESH! Starting with that one!" The maul is directed at V7.
Action: Cast Silver Flame Hammer on V6. (Or if V6 is dead, target V2.)
To Hit: 15 For: 10 bludgeoning and fire damage.
If hit, next closest guard to V6 takes 5. (Preferably most wounded near V6, otherwise V2)

Claire backs off to get a relatively safe spot in the room, (unless she is next to an enemy who would get an OA) and she spends a moment healing herself.

Narz tries to rally the lizards but his words lack strength behind them when his own attack is parried with ease. Meanwhile Claire quickly attempts to recoup before continuing the fight. Up top the remaining soldier turns to face and attack Rollo. Luckily the Clerics armor is strong and blocks both attacks.
Nadia once again draws back her bow string and lets loose two shots at the commander!

Nadias arrow strikes (v12 cuz V11 is prone :p. Target change discussed in discord) the soldier in the arm while the second hits the back wall. The soldier winces but otherwise seems relatively okay for now. The Captain risks standing, a loud thundering boom echoing through the halls as she does. Still she fights through the pain and launches another series of attacks against Zack and Rollo, hitting the fighter but missing the cleric. In another display of bad footwork she gets herself entangled with Zack and the pair fall over prone. The Captain lays there for a moment in silence and embarrassment before finally saying to Zack Sorry, always did have two left feet.
Back outside v9 and v6 continue to press the attack, seeing that the Lizards are loosing ground. V9 continues to engage L1 hoping to finish the weakening Lizardfolk while V6 lashes out at Narz. V9's first attack is parried but the follow up strikes the sheildbearer in the chest. He begins to bleed heavily and his knees grow weak but he remains in the fight for now. The Lizardolk looks around as if gaging an escape route but seeing just enemies between him and the exit he finds there's no choice but to fight to the exit.
V6 meanwhile turns his attention towards Narz who blocks the first blow with his hammer before side stepping around the second attack and following up with his maul, striking the solider hard in the side. The soldier has the wind knocked out of his for a moment and looks near ready to collapsing.
Back inside V13 is freaking out at having crocs biting both his legs. He desperately swings his sword at each of them, an awkward attempt at this angle. The first swing whiffs completely while he manages to his the second croc hard in the face but not enough to kill it.
Back outside V7 sees Narz calling him out as a challenge, and seeing his ally about to fall decides to move in to reinforce taking an Aoo from L1. The soldier tries to wave off the annoying bird as he approches Narz, taking a glancing blow from the sheildbearer in the process. Once in range of Narz he thrusts his sword forward but messes up his footing and missing wide. His second attack however is much more effective as he cuts into the Hobs leg.
L1, Unable to move without getting hit on all sides, doubles down on attack V9 desperste to finish off one enemy before falling himself. Unfortunately the pain is hard to fight through and his adrenaline is running out as he grows increasingly weaker. The only attack he manages to hit is merely another glancing blow, too weak to fell to otherwise dying soldier.
L2 likewise tries to finish off v6 before pushing forward to v7. Unfortunately his first attack misses entirely while the second is deflected
L4 takes advantage of V7 being distracted by Narz's familiar, managing to strike at least one blow against the solder. Meanwhile v5 tires to finish off v6 but failing that he turns on V7 and gets a glancing blow against the soldier

Apparently taking a tumble with the queen of the fighters in the tumult, managing to catch himself on the floor before she spoke as he felt that slight sting that always followed a fall onto solid objects. And after he regains his senses and she says what she says, his initial thought is to attack, but.. he instead see's this as an opportunity to win the fight... Ah... That's a shame. was all he said in response before letting go of his sword to better embrace his new 'lover' and try to keep her down with him so she could become a hostage.

Zack tries to grab the Captain but she pushes him off her and to the side, turning the tables and pinning the fighter to the ground and holding him there. The odd scene is made odder as only a few feet away a soldier is yelling in pain and panic has two crocodiles chew on his legs like its KFC.
V12 tries to save his buddy by attacking the crocs monching on his legs. Despite hitting the beast he barely seems to harm it at all much to his friends dismay. V15 risks turning his back to Rollo to try and help as well but it seems all the guards inside the keep are incompetent, unable to hit or hurt anything despite their efforts.
V16 continues his attack on Rollo and in a break from tradition manages to just barely get through the clerics armor before following up with a second attack that is blocked with easy.

Rollo tries to attack the Captain while she in vulnerable but, perhaps out of worry he may hit Zack, the Cleric barbarian swings wide and misses his target. Outside v2 steps behind the weakest of the Lizardfolks still remaining. He runs his sword clean through the Lizards back and out his chest. The sheild bearer falls and L2 pushes up to Narz to help reinforce the other guards. V4 meanwhile turns to head inside the keep, stopping at the door and swinging at the shaman. The shaman thankfully is more agile than he seems and he easily avoids both blows.
The shaman counters by muttering a quick spell, the armor on the soldier starting to glow red with heat and burning the guards skin. The Shaman quickly runs up to Claire and avoids a counterattack from V4. Turning to face the soldier again the Shaman simply stands there, eager to be near someone with a weapon.
Up top, as the shaman casts his new spell, the animals fade from existence has the shaman has to focus on maintaining his new spell.
